  2. No. It's you're over-the-top statements pointing out the errors that are too much. Venting is ok (the data is in error), but your venting is filled with such vehemence that it begs the question, "why buy it if you hate it as much as you're portraying yourself as hating it?"
  3. Ah. Forgot about that scene. Nevertheless, it took place after the two soldiers depicted on the civilian side having surrendered - surrendering their weapons in the process. Which then begs the question: before that, did the civilians have any weapons?
  4. Gah! Let your pessimism go for a while, dude! Macross II content is good content. Anyhow, blah blah blah, the people behind Macross Chronicle (which includes Kawamori-sama, if not other creators of the various Macross productions) have altered and revised parts of the backstory for the Studio Nue version. Why is it so hard to understand that the same revisions are also applied to the non-Studio Nue version? If that doesn't make sense, then: can you remember what you told a magazine reporter 15 years ago about a project that fizzled out? Especially if you've gone on to make oodles of other projects? Who are you to say that the Macross II creator's have infalible memory and are not allowed to change their minds? Or that the big bosses, Big West, aren't allowed to finesse the data to bring it closer to the Studio Nue version so that they can sell it? So, again, let go the pessimism. There's no such thing as bad publicity. Yadda yadda yadda. If you don't like it, don't buy it. And just live with it, like March has done with his website.
  5. Erm... I don't remember any civilian waving a gun. It was the military doing that. Also, it was only Dr. Rush that was willing to let a couple of military members die, and Wray talked him out of it saying something along the lines of the civilian alliance will fracture apart if they let anyone die.
  6. Interesting twists in this latest episode (#13). Alliances appear to be shifting. Though, given the two leads, it's probably just for the moment, and while it's convenient. Had a major thought running through my head while watching the episode: was that the same location as the one used for the alien village in SG-1's "Paradise Lost"? I swear it is. The mountains also look familiar. But that could just because I used to live near their - the Fraser Valley. You know, where they film the majority of the outdoor on-location stuff for the various SG series. Anyhow... the other thought I had was, "alien's will show up" fighting with "but it's a quiet episode" and then "the ancients built it, after they ascended, and are currently watching over the group"... So, for the last 20 minutes, I kept expecting an ancient to appear... nevertheless, I really liked the religion vs realism debate and the optimism vs pesimism that kept popping up. Almost Trekkian. Random thoughts: during the month that it took for the ship to circle the star, didn't Earth try to contact the ship through the stones?
  7. I think it's more than that. I think the whole Physica AND Max/Miria thing is allegory for the saleryman lifestyle in Japan. In both cases, the obsessiveness with work takes the three away from family, and their family relationships suffer for it.
  8. Actually, it wasn't. And you missed the point of my question. In long form: Why would you be surprised if the timeline covers Macross II content in a seperate section from the Studio Nue continuity, especially since the mechanic/characters/etc sections are covering Macross II content in seperate sections? Shouldn't you be happy that there is more Macross II promotion... erm, content? In response to the unasked for stuff: are you sure that they are in error? Maybe the content that you're comparing it to is in error... (now, before you go off on a diatribe, I'm just pointing out the possibility and don't care for the song and dance justification).
  9. Uhm, no. The counter is for ships. See definition 1: http://linear.mv.com/cgi-bin/j-e/sjis/dose...%C7&WC=none Doubtful. But why? MII is a different continuity, and so far the publisher has been following the Studio Nue continuity. I won't be surprised if it's DYRL > games > MII chronology for the remaining 3 issues.
  10. Some more tidbits from #46 Re Fieos Valkyrie: 16.25 m x 4.21 m x 14.83 m; 13,560 kg empty. Mach 6.8+ at 10,000 m, mach 26+ at 30,000+ m! Engine, thrust and armaments are "unknown". Re: Variable Attacker/Bomber: in essence, a VA is the same as a VF, but with a heightened ground attack FCS, capable of carrying more ordinance and a strengthened airframe. Sheet mentions VA-14 (attack version of the VF-14), VB-171 (I think it says it has a longer range than the VA-3), VB-4 and VB-5 (! Both mentioned as having armaments above/higher than the VF-17). Ah... wish I had the time to translate this, and some of the other pages in the issue, right now. >.<;;;
  11. No clue. I'm really curious what it could be. Neld Fleet invasion (or whatever it's called) from the 2030/2036 games? The Production Data: MII had me thinking that it would be an MII themed issue. But after reading the rest (FB2012 & DYRL), I've got the vibe that it's a DYRL/VF-1A/Kakizaki themed one.
  12. contents review #46 Summary: a must have issue. NOW. Go buy it! Mechanic F UNS 01A: Battle Frontier. Lots of goodies. Reconfirms that Battle class ships are really 6 seperate ships (or hulls). F Civ -1b: Macross Quarter: front bridge. Reverse - carrier/ship interior. Some of the stuff seen in the Pash! mag at decent size. Ex: can see a VF-1 next to the Queadluun-Rae in the hanger. Interior hanger deck of the ship featured. SDFM UNS 16a: QF-3000E Ghost and SF-3A Ransaa II - The Ghost is HUGE! 21.62 m x 9.35 m! Dwarfs the Lancer (13.2 m x 2.65 m). What the ...? The Lancer carries 6 large reaction missiles? Rated at 0.5 kt?! Man... the thing's coming off as a mobile anti-ship turrets. Like the Destroids are mobile anti-aircraft turrets. Extra report on the Spider Bug. SDFM Civ 03b: civie vehicles. taxi, truck, MBS van, cleaning van, large trailer, various utility vehicles, and an extra report on the vending machine, camera and video phone. M7 UNS 06b: VF-11C: front: aerospace super parts (content confirms the translation of reverse firing missiles and weapon containers on the engine nacelle parts that I did a couple of years ago.) Reverse: Full Armoured Thunderbolt. D7 UNS 01c: VF-5000: transformation. Characters: F civ 08a: Nene, Raramia, Rerenia. Data is thin. But hey, that's true of all the MF content in MC! 7 uns 02a: Kinryu. Nuff said. ('specially the pict of him with the 2 bridge bunnies on the reverse FTW). Extra report on the Pink Pecker squad. D7 Civ 02a: Mireena Furea Jiinasu. Extra report on the female producers "Sazapii". Timeline #54: up to the end of the MF series. Timeline M7 #08a: Planet Rakusu battle: basically arrival, forced landing and containment. Extra reports on: The Death of a Protodevlin, and the Ruins of Planet Rakusu (that's Protoculture Ruins). Worldguide #24a: Mankind Seeding Plan: groovy WWII Marine beach invasion shot on the front. Which I think is the MF-style Island Cluster class fleet in the process of colonizing a planet. Great to see boats (navy or otherwise) in Macross. Reverse is about colonization, emigration, etc.. Extra report on the galactic network. Tech 01L: Variable Attacker for the win! Reverse is all about the tactical use of VE, VA and VB. There's even a cool image of a RVF-171 commanding a flight of VF-171EX, as well as a VB-6 and VA-3 attacking the Vajra/bombing a planet. Double win! Extra reports on the Variable Training Craft VT and DYRL's VE, VT. Glossary #24: Mariafokina Banroozu, Manfureeto Buranndo, MiG-29, Miho Miho (M7 AND VF-X2 versions!), and Miria Farina-Jiinasu (only SDFM, 7 and Macross M3 versions). Extra Sheet: G&AV#7: front - Feios Valkyrie FTW. Extra report on Digital Mission VF-X's Milky Dolls. Reverse: Quadluun-Nona (some stats "same as Queadluun-Rau"!, as well as "standard/normal soldier version". Gujakguranvan Vaa (again, some stats), the Rookwaru sub, and Vandaru gunship (last 3 from VF-X2. Q-N from SDFM:DYRL game.) #47 preview art has: F###ing sweet Tenjin painting of the VF-1A. (obviously the DYRL version, given the square micro-missile launchers on the wings) M7's flower girl M7's variable Patroids (or whatever they're called) DYRL's Kakizaki Reverse cover ad: funny Revolvotech spoof of the standard MC/EC cover. Fun.
  13. Agreed. All of it. Atlantis still had life, and it's a shame that the last episode was as rushed as it was. I hope that the SGA movie gives the series a proper conclusion like Arc of Truth did for SG1/the Ori arc. SGU is good. BUT, it's way too much at times. I miss the light-heartedness. Which is one of the main reasons why I started Stargate in the first place. (The other reason is location spotting. Former Vancouver resident, here). Probably the weakest part of SGU, so far, is too many characters with too many agendas (ex: who was the guy who got the Ancient database DLed into his head? Why do all the secondary characters blur together? Why has the plot forgotten about the brain DL thing? (referring to eps. 11 and 12 here). The other weak part was the first episode - honestly, I felt it was boring at times. (Now before the uber pro-SGU people start dissecting my post, remember the first parts of my post.)
  14. Further info here: http://hobby.dengeki.com/books/1003tenjin.html I think there was a thread in MW about the book, too.
  15. Ah. Thought so. But cyborg implants does not make a cyborg, does it.
  16. I don't remember it being mentioned that "most of the population are cyborgs". Where does that information come from? IMHO, the main reason that the Macross Galaxy Fleet is different, is so that it is visually different from the Macross Frontier fleet, so that the average viewer doesn't get confused. It's the same reason why we don't see Zentraadi ships in a Super Long Range Emigration Fleet. They're the enemy ship, and portraying them as otherwise will add confusion.
  17. In Japan. Otherwise, you're stuck with the mark-up that ALL imports from one country to another face. You may find that a reseller is offering recently released goods for less than the cost of a bookstore or other importer in your area of residence.
  18. And RPG stats: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/S...00E/F-3000E.htm Can't be bothered to dig up the page numbers, but it's in one of the earlier collections.

    Macross on PS3?

Because there's a larger PSP market? It's cheaper to make games for the relatively low-resolution of the PSP? It's the game manufacturer's forte?
  20. Buy it?
  21. Got side tracked from the next project by an interest in the Air Combat Pod. Finished: Mechanic: SDFM Zent 09b Zentraadi Forces' Pods http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/inde...g37921#msg37921 Details are few and far between, but there's a couple of decent nuggets of info. Probably what's most surprising is the anti-aircraft and ground gun turrets on the Large Landing Pod!
  22. Not a license per se, it's his military ID. Pg 92 (English on form) "UN Spacy Volunteer Soldier", and pg 93 (Japanese text) "I enlisted". I think what's more interesting is that just before he enlists, he tries to give Misa a bouquet of flowers! As Gubaba said, it's definitely different from both SDFM and DYRL. Personally, I think it's much cooler than both, but that's just me.
  23. Not sure, but it's definitely too Gundamesque for my tastes, and not Macross enough. Anyhow, it's titled something along the lines of, "(tentatively named) Banzai Attacker: Klan Klan's special attack specification power-suit composed of VF parts" PS: You forgot the 4 VF-11B dorsal Super Parts and VF-25 body and wings.
  24. You mean Macross Chronicle? Or the article in the Macross Ace magazine? The former refers to it as Ghost X-9, and in the later, I only see "Super Bird" and "Ghost". Kazutaka Miyatake Design Works Macross & Orguss pg 43 to 46 is titled "Ghost Series", with the M+ roughs titled "Advanced Ghost", the M+ version as "Ghostbird X-9" (or Ghost Bird X-9), and the M0 as "the first/original Ghost". On the last page, it has "Super Bird", which wasn't in Macross, but is described as something that he designed in the '78 to '80 period, and is clearly what the SDFM Ghost is based off of. Therefore, I'm tempted to say that the designer's pet name for it is "Ghost Bird X-9", but the common name is "Ghost X-9".
  25. :!: I just checked for that a few days ago. <Internetfu> Ah, it was JUST released today (JST). That's odd that it's being offered overseas at the same time...
