  1. Partials/Extra Report + Project: Character: M UN 03A: Roy Fokker: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/MUN03ARoyFokker.php Bit of insight on his relationship with Claudia... Mechanic: SDFM UN 02D: VF-1J Valkyrie: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/SDFMun02DVF-1J.php Found parts of this quite enlightening. Not so much the extra report, but the details on the transformation mechanism, and the arm hard-point. The drastic change in text from the original in one section is telling - stems from a communication error? Skimming the rest of the sheet, I'm left with the impression that the remainder of the text is stuff like "this goes there, that folds here". Partial Slapped up in PHP: Timeline 06A: Revival of the "Bird Man" (Zero): http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline06A.php No real differences from the original.
  2. Re: Issue 07 Our first issue with only one (1) foldout Mechanic sheet, AND one (1) foldout Gallery sheet. Hmm... New Translations: Complete: Gallery: Ai: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Do You Remember Love?: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRgallery/DYRL.php Also with this sheet, the publisher has combined the front of two pages in the original edition. Am left wondering when (if?) they'll publish the other sides of the sheets. Partial: Goods 01 Bandai DX Chogokin VB-6 Konig Monster: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRgoods/01BandaiDXChogokinVB-6.php Some interesting things about the toy. Of course, I don't own it. Ha ha ha.
  3. Technically the VF-27 is a YF-27 (in universe rules. Basically how Galaxy Fleet surprised everyone with a working fleet of new VFs). I think the Y is for prototype/experimental model, V is for operational model rule is only applied half the time in the most recent releases.
  4. Another partial that I'd like to have the time to finish... loads of goodies (though, a lot of it can be gleaned from existing translated sources, i.e.: The Macross Compendium's timeline): Worldguide: 01A: The Protoculture: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/01AProtoculture.php
  5. And the Topics/Related Matter project rolls on: Episode Sheets (partials): M03A & B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 3 "Space Fold": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/M03ABeps3.php TF01A & B: Macross F Theatrical Edition ~The False Diva~: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/TF01ABTMFfalseDiva.php As always, the SDFM sheets were quite enlightening, the MF stuff a little bit less so. Nevertheless, the TF sheet did bring back nostalgic memories of the last few weeks of November, 2009. History Sheets (partial): 7 02A: Attack of the Varohta Forces: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRhistory/702AAttackOfTheVarohta.php Worldguide Sheets (partial): 16A: Varohta Forces: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/16AVarohtaForces.php Some interesting stuff on both. Wish I had more time to finish off the Worldguide sheet. Nevertheless, striking 6 sheets off the to-do list with this update is great. Just in time for the next issue. T.T
  6. They don't. I've built the VF-27 kit and have had my fair share of breakage on it. The most annoying were the arm shoulder joint and one of the two hinges for the back, behind the head. Suffice to say, it sits in fighter mode... I swear, these kits are NOT meant to be transformed... Thanks for the tip on how to recover from similar breakage. It answers a question I've been meaning to ask here for awhile. Not sure when I'll get around to attempting it on the VF-27, let alone transforming it to battroid...
  7. A pair of partials: Character TF Citizen 02A Sheryl Nome: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/TFcit02ASherylNome.php - nothing unexpected, but it does highlight the dissimilarities between the TV and movie versions. Mechanic Zero UN 03A: VF-0D Phoenix: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/ZEROun03AVF-0D.php - I found this one quite enlightening; fleshes out the back story of the VF and adds a bit of heretofore unknown info on the VF-0's development.
  8. Partial (more of a slight revision of the translation + the one line of text in the sheet changed on the revised edition, slapped up in PHP): Timeline 05A: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline05A.php I find it odd that their "change" was to remove the name of the fuel-air bomb... is this a reflection of their target demographic?
  9. Dengeki Hobby Magazine April 2013 Overall: despite getting a mention on the cover, the Macross coverage was disappointingly thin... 2 page spread of a YF-25 and YF-29 crossing paths in the sky of where ever the Macross 30 game takes place. The accompanying text talks about the Macross 30 game, the upcoming novelization of the game, and includes a portion of the first chapter of the novelization. The whole thing is reminiscent of Macross The Ride as they even got KuWa to do a kit build... 4 pages on the YF-25 Prophecy Lion Custom from the Macross 30 game. 2 pages of the Battroid, and approximately 1 page (spread over 2 pages) on the fighter form. Interspersed are picts and info on the pilot, the Macross 30 game and the aircraft in the game. The remaining 2/3 a page are on KuWa's build of two kits (1 battroid, 1 fighter) for this issue. 1 page about Macross 30. About half of it is an interview with the writer of the novelization and a small ad for the 4 Macross the Ride books (2x novels, 2x art books). The page is rounded out with info on the Macross 30 game: purchasing info, the story, the YF-30 Chronos, the 4 main characters and some screenshots of the "historical" Macross characters that appear in the game. Macross the Forefront Page 1: DX Chougokin VF-171 Nightmare Plus (ordinary craft) Price: ¥14,700 (tax included) Planned release in the middle of April Sales Agency: Bandai Collectors Division Metal Boy VF-1S Unpainted resin kit height: about 120 mm Parts Number: 44 Cost: ¥12,000 (tax included) Sales Agency: Metal Box Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1 Valkyrie "Macross 30th Anniversary Paint Kit" (tentative) Price: undetermined planned release at the start of summer Sales Agency: Hasegawa Pg 2 1/72 Perfect Transformation VF-1 Valkyrie (continues in 1/2 of the next page) The kit's design is further refined. Points of interest: A, J and S heads. Gun pod comes with a shoulder strap. Really detailed yellow pilot in clear plastic cockpit (unclear if the cockpit is detailed, and if the colours are just due to the prototype printing process) The big news is the dorsal surface/upper torso transformation mechanism. It looks fairly complicated for a plastic model kit. The inside panel of the forearms also opens so that the hand can swivel at the wrist and be hidden in fighter mode. Lastly, there are 4 shots of Kawamori going over prints of the 3DCG model. Pictures include him looking at the mockup with a magnifying glass (I kid you not!), carefully scrutinizing the leg/feet assembly prints, and adding detail with a red marker on the pilot print, referencing Macross Chronicle's DYRL Hikaru Ichijo's character sheet, no less! Pg 3 is rounded out with: Sheryl and Ranka socks and mugs (http://search-fn.p-bandai.jp/?q=%83%7D%83N%83%8D%83X〈=ja&cs=Shift_JIS&cate=S0002&search3.x=22&search3.y=6) Weekly Macross Chronicle Revised Edition (images are of covers #5, 6 and 7, and #5's fold-out VF-1J sheet, both sides). Macross Crossover Live 30 Date: 2030.7.13, details: http://macrosslive30.com and... 10. I concur. Episode sheets (both TV and OVA series) appear to be 2 per episode. Movies... 4? 6? Full translation: - Sheryl Nome x VF-171EX / Ranka Lee: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRheroine/HeroineGalleryMF.php#SherylNomexVF-171EX This is the first of these sheets where the artwork is nice on BOTH sides. Partials - continuing the extra reports theme: Goods 01 Yamato 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRgoods/01YamatoPerfectTransformingVF-0.php Goods 07 Pachi-Slot Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRgoods/07PachiSlotSDFM.php For some reason, I ended up translated all or almost all of the reverse on both sheets. Weird. Anyhow, not quite as enlightening as I hoped it would be, but at least we know what the sheets say and what to expect on similar sheets...
  11. Pair of partials this morning: Mechanic SDFM UN 02B: VF-1 Valkyrie: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/SDFMun02BVF-1J.php Mechanic 7 UN 02A: VF-19 Kai Excalibur "Nekki Basara Special": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/7un02AVF-19Kai.php Was focused on the extra reports, but did a bit more, especially the paragraphs that were essentially rewritten.
  12. Partials: Episode MF 03A&B "On Your Marks": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/F03ABeps3.php Commentary: for some reason, I find the M7 episode sheets more enlightening than the MF ones. This one does have a few nuggets, mind you. Maybe it's just 'cuz I'm not an MF fan? History F 01A: Sheryl Nome Concert: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRhistory/F01ASherylNomeConcert.php Commentary: the extra reports were quite expansive on this one (if it weren't for the stack of other sheets in the to-do box, it'd have been completely translated). There are also a few text changes in this one. On a related note, I've been noticing on a couple of sheets in a few spots that the editors of the Revised Edition are changing some of the font settings (either reducing size by 1 point, removing bold or changing the font (MS Gothic to MS PGothic?)). It's an extremely subtle change, but it begs the question: why are they doing it? It's not like they've freed up a bunch of space for more images or something.
  13. Gah... I need an editor. (Another way to look at it is: I've opted for quantity over quality, and this is the best we get despite proofreading, 'cuz I gots 3 kids playing (fighting more often then not) around me legs whilst I'm doing it. >.<) Editing the pages now (just the episode ones, right?) EDIT: fixed. The 3 episode sheets, and the all series guide (which had those offending it's). The one plus is that the heart/hurt was consistent...
  14. It's all down to timing. Specifically they were able to make it onto the first mail plane to the hub nearest you. When I sent regular mail from Vancouver to Japan, the fastest was 2 days, too. The slowest, a week!
  15. Partial: Episode 702A & B "Fire Scramble" http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/703ABeps3.php Some more insightful information. The context of M7 (more specifically why it became what it is) makes a bit more sense.
  16. My preference is no digital characters, period. Last weekend I rewatched Eps III, and every time they had people (especially OLD people) doing flips in the light sabre battles, my mind kept screaming "FAKE". Which made the change in stature, stance and movement when the stunt doubles were used all that more glaringly obvious...
  17. Nice! Now if only I had a bit more time and the extra cash lining around to pick one up! (Still working on the 1/1000 Cosmo Navy set (1st one, not the 2nd one) and the 1/? scale Cosmo Falcon that came with Dengeki Hobby >.,<;;
  18. New partials: Character Zero Cit 02A Mao Nome: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/ZeroCit02AMaoNome.php Character Plus Cit 02A Myung Fang Lone: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/PlusCit02AMyungFangLone.php Only the Zero Cit 02A had a change on it - amounting to only a visual restructuring of the character interrelation chart. I was hoping that the extra report on Mao's future in the background of MF would be expanded upon, but so far, MC hasn't been embellishing on what was said in the MF series (devoted to Protoculture Studies, Sheryl's grandma and leader of the 117th Research Fleet.). Updated partial: Timeline 04A: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline04A.php No real change in the content (other than the enigmatic addition of an "A" to the sheet number). Translation is the same as before, with a few tweaks here and there. Nuttin' major.
  19. There's a reason for those dodgy Arnie visual effects. Namely they're based off of (physical) molds of his head made way back when T1 was produced, in order to make the props for that infamous "cutting out the eye" scene. I don't want to say that the mold was done cheaply (it was a B movie after all), but the dodgy CG was due to it being based on a cast from a mold intended for different purposes of a much younger Arnie being 3DCG animated with animation software not exactly suited for rendering people.
  20. You're right, my bad, English short hand just doesn't work in a message board. My intent was "no one has posted in this topic that issue 5 has been released for those overseas residences living vicariously through those of us living in Japan collecting this publication." I'll have to remember to write things out explicitly in the future.
  21. How does "posts bumping a topic to indicate that you've edited in the content from the latest issue would be helpful" transmogrify into "make stuff up"? Not sure what point your trying to make with the rest of the post... is it wrong for us to only check the threads that pop up in the View New Content feature? I'm also not sure how bumping your topic once a week to indicate you've made changes constitutes a MW rules violation, either.
  22. Just saying, if you bump it up so it appears in the view new content thingy, people will notice the edits...
  23. You could always post a bump on that thread once it's updated. ? I don't follow your request. If I understand it correctly, you're asking about the differences between the Revised edition Hiroshima edition and the nationwide edition. As I never got the Hiroshima edition, I'm unable to answer your question.
