1. OK Knight 26, is this maybe another one of those various reasons why you said you might never want to fly a an F-22? IMHO, I don't think all of the Raptors have this problem with their canopies.
2. You didn't say please. But sometimes I gotta problem with repeating other people's stuff, so I'll watch out for that. Also, Kalvasflam I strongly do agree with your theory about the hardware of various regions in general that produce fighter aircraft. America has the most complex and cutting edge technology in their hardware so that epitomizes why some other countries can afford to buy their fighters and hardware. But damn, I had no idea everybody hates France that much.
3. Just that one VF? What I meant to say is that I want to see more VF designs from him. I'm sure he can do much better that. After all, he is gifted in mechanical designing just like SK is. I also give kudos to KM for all for all those ships and interesting creatures we see in the Macross universe. But then again beggars can't be choosers.
4. If you ask me, seeing this is kinda hilarious. I think it's kinda funny to see an advanced stealth fighter get owned by a 30 year old Naval fighter which is like a retarded kid passing an Algebra test and a very smart math person get a low failing grade on it.
5. I think you're right about SK not being involved in any other Macross creation because he's directed like 4 or 5 series and I think he needs to lighten up and take a hiautus from the franchise since he apparently seems to be so sensitive about character and mecha designs. I wonder how Kazutaka Miyatake would fair in creating a new Macross series on his own using mecha and character designs. All he usually designs is zentraedi mecha, support vehicles for the U.N spacy and I'm really interested in seeing him create his own VF's because I want to see how they turn out in comparison with SK's designs. P.S. Fire Bomber's songs sucked that bad? Also, about Kamjin, I forgot that he had a sense of humor because it's been a year since I last saw Macross on the Anime Network.
6. I guess not because ever since the war in Iraq started, I've never heard any personal accounts of pilots ever being engaged in A2A combat with Iraqi pilots. All I here is fighters doing A2G straffing runs with their guns and doing surgical bombing raids on targets.
7. Dropship from aliens All Star Wars ships from Episode 4 and up Ark royal carriers and SDF-1 from Macross. Aconcagua from Gall Force Sulaco from Aliens. Spaceships from ID4 Strega from Philosoma R-GRAY 1 AND 2 from Raystorm Sylphide fighters from Sylphide Silverhawks from Darius Vic Viper from Gradius Gauntlet fighter from Thunderforce 5 Axelay fighter Vanguard ships from Vandread That spaceship Fighter from Descent Those fighters in Starlancer Einhander fighter. You know what, I like all of the spaceships from Japanese space shooter games and sci-fi shooters because there's too many to list and they look helluva lot more sleeker and viscous than most of those crappy ships in American and European sci-fi movies.
8. That is un-f**king-believable. I thought the F-22 had the advantage in the dogfight since it has superior maneuverabilty and since the F-18 couldn't detect it due to it's stealth capability. I think the F-22 pilot was getting careless and sluggish and I think that caused him to fall prey to the Hornet. I think that this may be the reason why Knight26 said that he didn't want to be flying in the F-22 in the next few years. Probably due to it's very poor performance in dogfighting.
9. Not only not likely to happen, but would you really want Kawamori getting his mitts on the Valkyrie II, Metal Siren and Icarus? I've seen where he's going with the future of mecha design in Macross Plus and Macross 7, and I think I'd much rather keep him uninvolved. The last thing we need is another VF-19 Kai. 395806 Yeah, I think it's best that Kazumi Fujita and Koichi Ohta stick to handling our beloved M2 mecha since they desgined them, and therefore, know every single technical aspect of them intimately. I can't imagine seeing a so called "VF-2SS Kai" or a Kai version of all the other M2 mecha done by SK. They're all fine design wise and don't want them changed overall for the fans (I have drawn an updated version of the Icarus, because I PERSONALLY think that it needed to be updated), but I wouldn't mind having them with the features advanced VF's like in M+ AND M7 though. He should create his own fresh, new mecha designs and don't even get his filthy hands on M2 mecha. As for the characters, they're all fine, and if SK hypothetically were to be involved in an update of M2, then he'll probably throw in his mix of characters lwhich would probably gay up the OAV itself like what SK did with his "Brokeback Fire Bomber" band in Macross 7. I'll once again and quickly admit that the concept of using a rock band to battle aliens is rather unique and creative but I wish that the rock band members had more of a hardcore image like Linkin Park and Korn(I know they suck, but I personally think they're decent for a nu metal band) and that would maybe cause me to like them a little more. Finally, and going back to the topic in general, even though Macross 2 had a weak story, I too, prefer that the humans were battling humanoids than giant but-ugly space monsters. The Marduk, IMHO, are just a more hardcore and ambitious version of the Zentraedi like Feff my favorite villain unlike that stuck up happy person Kamjin/Kyrhon.
10. My brother told me about this movie a month ago and I hope it lives up to the video game and that the creators don't screwup this movie and make it look like crap because I think that would serioisly hurt the game franchise alot. If this movie does poorly, then we can expect not to see another Tekken game for 5-7 years.
11. If you ask me, I've always honestly envisioned that one day, SK will adopt M2 as part of his offiicial timeline by doing an update to it, rendering all of the mecha into 3-D, and moderately redoing the background story of the chraracters, mecha and etc. in the OAV in order to perfectly fit it in, but that will never happen at all.
12. Is it just unsafe to fly for a pilot? Perhaps the FBW and digital avionics/weapons systems have yet to mature? Also I did hear@ARC that the F-22 CAN do a cobra, but we probably won't see it until the airshow demos start. Which is next year. 395682 I gotta agree with Shin about that possible severe flaw with the F-22's FBW system linked to it's TVE nozzles or maybe a few kinks in the aircraft's engines which would probably cause the aircraft to stall frequently or spin out of control. Also, Shin I too, am honestly convinced that an F-22 can do a COBRA thanx to it's TVEN's but a CULBIT more impressively? No, because the F-22 of course lacks lateral vectoring capabilities or more so 3-D thrust vectoring like the SU-37 possesses. Sure, it would be cool if the F-22 could do the CULBIT, but because it has 2-D TV capabilities since 3-D would compromise it's stealth capabilties, it can't. So if the F-22 wasn't a stealth aircraft, it can do it like the SU-37. I don't know if you guys covered that in the first super thread but I thought that I just point that out. P.S. Knight26 when they refer to 2-D and 3-D TV, does the D in that mean dimensional or directional?
13. Also Vsim, as a personal request, can you design the cockpit of the VF-1 as an add on to the realism of your flight sim and do you have a chase view of the VF-1 in the works so we can toggle back in forward between cockpit and chase views?
14. I go to robotechresearch.com, steelfalcon.com, or goto Japantoday.com to catchup with current events in Japan.
15. That 1/72 Sylphide fighter loks nice andd sleek. I wanna get that and personal paint in a dark green color.
16. Well Dave, all I know is that Dassault is more than willing to sell to their Rafale's off to any other country that currently uses their older generation fighters. I have a good feeling that some African nations like Nigeria and all of those other French/African nations may be customers for the Rafale sometime in the foreseeable future. In addition to that, I believe that most of these African nations may be potential customers to the JAS-39 Gripen since it's remotely cheap and easy to maintain. If you ask me, I think that most of these African nations may just stick to buying aircraft from Europe like the EFA2000 since they are stereotypically known to be cheap and not very appealing to other developed nations.
17. Yeah,I saw this movie on CN's Toonami like two weeks ago and I must say that this movie was strictly decent and I can see why it got two stars according to my Movie guide on Comcast Digital Cable. I was a little disappointed at the fact that the movie was remotley short for 72 minutes as I was expecting it to be at least two hours long but they got straight to the point with the story and the character backgrounds without going more indepth into them. I didn't like the way Iron Man's (my favorite Marvel Super Hero, as well as War Machine) suit looked. It looked kinda crappy to me IMHO. I just wish that they put more time into making the movie and that they didn't rush into producing it.
18. This is pretty good for a VF flight sim. Do they plan on adding weapons to test out the weapon systems of the VF-1 or what? I'm interested in an update of this program. I really wish the lateral controls were'nt so sluggish though.
19. If you ask me, IMHO, remakes sometimes are pointless or really worth the time and effort that depends on how it's made. If it's done good it maybe worth but if it's done bad it was pointless and a complete waste of time, money and effort. Anyways, isn't a little to early to do a remake of a Macross? I mean I really wouldn't want to see a remake of it right now even though I always envisoned what a hitherto remake of the show would be like with fresh crisp animation, 3-D rendered VF-1's and other mecha. I think a remake of it should be done 40 to 80 years after the original because it seems like a perfect time period to do so since you have more than enough time to think of fresh and creative ideas to make a remake surpass the original. To back this up, I'll use the example of the King Kong remake. It came out 70 years after the original and it was a success and what made the remake so unique and successful was that Peter Jackson added his own plot and other creative content like the dino island to make his interpretation more interesting than the first. The same with other examples Azrael stated earlier.
20. Yes as a matter of fact it just came on a few minutes ago where I live. it was rather cute and funny the way how the yaris kept backing up and running over it but the Yaris is a nice hybrid car I may someday get.
21. I guess Macrossvf1-msx likes them for the same reasons we do Seto Kaiba, if you ask me.
22. As for my other VF's listed below, here's some of the changes I'd make VF-2JA:Give it leg mounted missle bays, wrist mounted pulse laser's and give it's own SAP pack VF-11: The wings (they look ugly to me IMHO), it's gun pod. VF-14 (both variants): Give it all the features that advance VF's have. VF-19: The Fire Valkyrie's head; I swear to God it looks ugly with that humanoid face it has. VF-21/VF-22: Add more head laser's and give it a VE cockpit VF-XX:Change the legs, they're out of proportion with the battroid's body. Oh, I forgot to add to my the VF-2SS: wrist mount pulse lasers, leg missle bays and the features that advanced VF's had.
23. No, it's just that I forgot that they make other toys like video game character figures. I was just focusing on Macross stuff thats all since this forum is centered on Macross parnephelia.
24. Yeah Shin, it would be nice to see Yamato make transformable toys of M2 mecha but that won't happen anytime soon, but I still have my hopes up high. After all, why should Yamato toys be restricted to just catering to all of the Japanese Macross fans when they can cater to us Americans and increase sales revenue as a result of us demanding that we have toys made of all the VF's we have yearned to see made into toys. Sure, I know that Yamato is still succesfull without us Americans and it's still popular in Japan but if they were to make toys based off American demand, then their reputation and popularity would expand ten fold and their slaves revenue and stock would grow 10 fold as well. Yamato doesn't care about white and black Macross fans in America!
25. Here's my paint scheme for the VF-2SS Valkyire 2. I call this one "Saffron Thunder". I know my gradients are off moderatley but I was still getting reacquainted with Photshop. The last time I used it was two years ago in my Computer Graphics 1 class in my Junior year of HS So don't harshly criticize it OK?
