1. How bout this title name Knight 26; BATTLE: Unlimited.
2. Yeah Knight26, I was just making educated guesses with whether or not the Raptor has flare/chaff dispensers. But other than that, I honestly do tend to make up stuff that sounds reasonable. But I have curious question about stealth; If hypothetically an F-22 were to launch a missle from wing mounted pylons, wouldn't the heat of the missle cause the F-22 to be seen on a radar for a quick 2 seconds or so? I heard that the F-22 can actually be seen on radar but you would have to look at it very closely to notice it since it's radar blip appears about the size of a very small bread crumb on a radar screen. I also heard that in comparison of the B-2 to the B-17, the B-17's radar blip is about the size of a bumble bee on a radar screen opposed to the B-2's radar blip size(I forgot it as I saw this information on a TV program called Stealth on TLC).
3. There are no chaff or flare launchers on the F-22 if I can recall Graham, but I think the side mounted missle bays may be big enough to accomodate may be 5 flares or so. I think the F-22 probably uses an active ECM system to prevent missles from homing into it. Besides, the flares and chaff would probably add a little weight to the fighter slightly affecting it's handling. Dave, Nied, or Knight26, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Also since I think that one of you guys are pilots like Skull Leader(correct me if I'm wrong) I was just wondering have you ever been to Red Flag Nellis AFB just to see what it's like? I remember yesterday when I was watching Red Flag: Thunder at Nellis on the Military channel and they were explaining how rookie pilots are able to perform a plethora of mission objectives based on alot of mission scenarios as pilots from around the world participate in joint exercises with USAF pilots. For those who wanna know more about RF, here's a link to this years RF program http://milavia.net/specials/redflag06-1/index.htm
4. I just assumed that using a fresh new constructed airframe would cost more than an existing one. I also assumed that the parts would cost more than a new airframe. I not saying that all of the F-16's currently in service should be refursbished or converted in to this seeminlgy technology unfeasible variant but just only a few, and if that doesn't work, just pan the damn idea and come up with a logical idea to conserve money.
5. Hey Coota0, I like that F-16 with that blue camo aggressor paint scheme.
6. Well going back to the F-35 briefly, since it's supposed to replace the F-16's soon and it would cost an arm and a leg to build and maintain, has the USAF considered making bootleg F-35's by taking existing F-16, stripping them apart and making moderate modifcations to the fuselage to accomodate a large hoverfan and use the same type of downward thrust vectoring engine nozzle the F-35 has as well as applying a thin layer of RAM to the top half of the airframe? I think it's a good idea to do this to existing F-16's even though the tradeoff may be costly. After all, since the F-35 shares similar capabilites like a lightweight airframe, single engine and maneuvarnility like the F-16, i figured that making bootleg F-35 out of F-16's would cost less a little to produce and maintain and since it may also take several years to completely phase out the F-16, the USAF might as well resort to doing this. It's performance may be a little less than the original F-35, but if the USAF want's to conserve money, they might as well consider that idea.
7. It's funny because in the 90's X-men cartoon, Rogue goes to Genosha island to get cured of her mutant powers, but decides to keep them. The only captivating aspect of this movie is just the sentinels. I was actually and honestly expecting this movie to be about Apocalypse because I found his saga's in the TV series very epic and infuriating. Maybe in X-4 we can expect to see him.
8. I do! After all, F-35's haven't been produced in moderate numbers to seemingly supplement the F-22. I think that the F-22's cost more than the F-35 due to maintenance and the sophisticated avionics. Correct me if i'm wrong
9. I wonder if Andrews AFB has the F-22 stationed there yet. If Langley AFB and Oceania AFB have them, then surely several other AFB's around the nation have them ready and are more than willing to have them perform at airshows. I know that it will take several more years for the Raptor to be mass produced in sufficent numbers so that nearly every state in the nation has them. Also Nied, Knight26, or Dave, do you know if they only assign a squadron of raptors to just one of the major bases in each of the states?
10. Quick off-topic question Shin, are you a high school senior or a college senior?
11. David, is there any airshows going on near where you live at? I haven't heard of any airshows going on where I live at as I don't see or hear any jets flying around near Andrews AFB. I haven't been to an airshow since 1999. I pretty much lost all interest in going to them since the 9/11 attacks where we have to park our cars at the FEDEX field and take a shuttle bus to the base and couldn't bring bags or ice coolers. Those mother f**king terrorists ruined my favorite May event of my life.
12. It was a joke. Look up the euphemism for "bush." 398800 My fault Yellowlightman. Sorrry I doubted you for minute but its all good.
13. What were those honest suspicions that you have of me? You make it sound like I'm a bad person. Are you prejudice towards me or what?
14. Well it's not much to give a vague discription of what I look like, but if you take a look at my new avatar, you'll notice that that's Bob Makihara from "Tenjo Tenge Yuiga Dokuson" (I alone am honored on heaven and Earth) I look closely like him without the dreadlocks as I have a short bush. (used to have a long ass bush, but had to get it cut for my cousins graduation 4 years ago. Damn, I wish I had my long bush back . Until I get a PC cam or a scanner to upload a pic of me, you'll just have to continue to guess what I closely look like.
15. What about the ones with the skulls on the vertical rudders? I forgot the squadron number for them but I know that the F-14A's and F-14B's have this design. Man I would love to see an F-14D Super Tomcat 21 with the skulls on it but since the Tomcat 21 program was cancelled due to it being highly unaffordable, I'll never be able to see it like that. What a shame
16. Now is it just me, or is a three year "suspension" just silly? If somebody is that serious about getting rid of a member they see as a trouble maker, why not just ban them altogether? I don't know what Agent ONE did this last time he was suspended, but I do understand that he rubs some people the wrong way. But if any mod or admin seriously belives that any member of any forum would wait around for three years to resume posting, they're delusional. If you want the Agent man banned, then for god's sake be a man and ban him for real, because the notion of a "three year suspension" is a joke. Or can we look forward to the return of BoK and MGREXX in a few years time as well? And if this is instead some sort of error, then I'll leave it for you in power to work out amongst yourselves. 398354 Or Agent One can always comeback as a new member and sign up under a new account but I didn't know he was banned for getting on peoples nerves.
17. Well tell me this, won't the SDF-1's overheat from all of those shots ired from it's canons and the PPBS would not work due to all the energy it needs to function by drawing energy from the laser cannons.
18. Actually JB0, it did come from his past training as well because if you rememeber that one scene in Sweet Sixteen, Hikaru was fascinated by Max's fighting skills because when he had asked him where did he learn to fight like that, Max told him that he had learned those techniques while he was in flight school. Unless he used that excuse to cover up for the supposed real reason why he's so good at dogfighting. So are you saying that Max had no idea that he was injected with alien DNA that gave him superior dogfighting skills or what by secretly telling him that he was receiving a booster shot when it turns out to be the DNA. I also thought he was 19 years old like Hikaru.
19. Don't get us all wrong and no disrespect to you LV Lurker, I honestly find your theory interesting and unlikely expected, but since you don't have more information to support your theory, no body doesn't buy into it. Besides, Max couldn't be an alien because he was born in 1990; 9 years before the ASS-1 crashed on Earth. Therefore, humans couldn't use the alien technology or the cloning chambers in general to spawn a super pilot with superior combat skills since it wasn't around in the early 90's. Unless you think that they injected him with some hormones and a serum that boosted his air combat performance 10 fold and also gave him blue hair like a Zentraedi while he was 16-18 years old. But then again, we all know that Max's performance was mainly due to the fact that he took his training seriously and learned various techniques from his instructors prior to the time he became a pilot, not because of some alien DNA that was administered to him because if he did, he would have revealed his secret in M7 by now.
20. You're right Skull Leader. I can play some VSS with a flight sim control stick as long as the game essentialy has a rapid fire button. I'm not to good at playing them if they don't as it hurts to have to keep pulling the control stick's trigger button just to fire your ships weapons. Interestingly, there's an arcade VSS game called Air Strike in which you pilot helicopters with futuristic weaponry (much like Psykyo's Zero Gunner) through enemy territory and the arcade cabinet controls consist of a control stick as well. And don't get me wrong JB0, I don't think a flight stick is better than an arcade joypad. I just personally prefer flight sticks over arcade pads because I'm good at using them.
21. Ohh, OK. I didn't know that at first. I just assumed that she dyed it because she wasn't fond of her natural teal hair. Maybe a slight genetic defect perhaps? But going back on topic, I don't think the U.N Spacy would allow human pilots to have their hair dyed and long but I think it's OK for the U.N Spacy superior officers to do so, since they are in charge. I wanted to use a real world example of this to support my reasoning but can't since USAF or any other AF in the world has this policy. The only formidable example I can use to back this up would be Saki Vashtar from AREA 88. He has long black hair and he can keep his hair long because he's the head honcho that runs the base, he can do whatever he wants opposed to the characters Shin, Mickey, and Greg, having their hair at an average height.
22. Quickly going back to the F-22, FOX 5 News was just talking about the Raptor at Tyndall AFB and how they plan on probably using them in Iran or N. Korea. I know it's not much since we pretty much know everything about the F-22 but I thought that I just let you guy's know.
23. Well that's because Miria's genes are more dominant that human genes since she's a Meltraedi so this epitomizes why their children have green or teal colored hair. Mylene just dyed her hair pink as a seemingly obvious clue that that's her favorite color since most women like pink as their favorite color.
24. It's not supposed to "be" anything, it just is. If I had to guess at what the artist's intent behind the blue hair was I'd say it was supposed to be black, because usually blue hair is just another representaion of black in anime. But at the same time it's not supposed to "represent" anything... his hair is just blue. Sometimes a cigar is only a cigar. The constant need for some people to put logic and reason into a cartoon amazes me. Folks are willing to accept transforming planes, 50 foot tall aliens that look exactly like humans and other things but they simply cannot believe that a human character who wears blue glasses and flies a blue plane actually has blue hair. 397492 If you ask me I think his hair is just to show that he has a sense of being cool and hansome and to give the audience the idea that he likes to look a little fashionative. After all, Minmey said that she finds Max attractive in that episode Sweet Sixteen and I think it was also due to the fact that his hair was blue and Minmay's favorite color is blue anyway. Also, another logic to suggest that some of the charcters don't die their hair was right in this thread of mine all along. The only charcters that seemingly appear to have died hair are the ones of Zentraedi decscent since like I said before that their hair is naturally different colors of the spectrum. I don't know if Gamlin is of Zetraedi descent because I don't know if his mother was a Meltran but I know his father is Japanese.
25. He's pretty decent for a mecha designer. His best designs were in Macross, Escaflwone,Gundam, and Armored Core. He didn't do so good for the MD's in Omega Boost.
