  1. They’ve had almost four years to fix or improve this design but haven’t done squat. We’ve pointed out all these issues way back when this prototype first came out. And yet, no changes. They could look at what Yamato did and crib notes on what succeeded and what they could improve upon. I’ve sang Bandai’s praises before when they’ve pulled off ridiculously awesome renditions, such as Lion Voltron/Go-Lion and Vehicle Voltron/Dairugger XV. I’m excited to see what improvements and surprises they have for their TV version of the SDF-1 that they revealed awhile back. But there’s no way I’d ever back this. And the YF-21 is probably my favorite Valk in all of Macross. Yet not once have we ever seen this in Gerwalk. Those bellyplates/hipguards are a design choice that cause more problems than it solves. The size between the chest and back is way too thick. There are compromises in the two modes we’ve already seen that we’ve discussed ad nauseam here. But sure, let’s drop a boatload money on a subpar figure that Bandai isn’t willing to fix or improve.
  2. Yeah, I get it. But being forced to ALWAYS get Stick and Rey to start can be a barrier for someone on the fence about getting another set of Ride Armors. Regarding Sentinel, I figure they were itching to get to their Breakers’ designs instead of risking it with Shinobu.
  3. So, is there a rule that Stick and Rey always have to be made first for the Ride Armors? And that the Eta Legioss (the blue one) has to be made first? I’m mean I get “why” (heroes/main characters), but we’re already dealing with a niche market. Going first with Yellow or Houquet would be one way for a toy company to stand out from the crowd.
  4. Nope. Not based on that garbage prototype. I’ll stick with my Yammy, skinny legs and all.
  5. . . . Or you make compromises for one mode at the minor expense of another. But you don’t go Bandai’s way with the -21 and make design choices that compromise ALL THREE MODES.
  6. Got it. Thanks for the clarification. I get that there’s some things about the Sentinel redesigns that don’t mesh with the original designs. But the HUD lines on the visors are relatively easy to paint over and hide for a more OG look. The mudguard can be popped off if one is so inclined. The different headlights on the Mospeada bikes are not that big of an issue. And yes, there’s some additional armor on the redesign’s torsos and upper arms. But they are pretty damn close to looking like the original designs. . . . Except for that hot pink on Houquet and the Bartley. Should have went with red for our girl.
  7. Could’ve swore we saw pics of the Houquet Beagle mold a few years after everything went down. Gotta figure someone would still have it.
  8. Because the key for the transformable YF-21 would be to look good in all three modes. . . and the lineart wouldn’t be able to pull off a good fighter mode . . . without heaps of anime magic.
  9. But can it actually change into a solid fighter mode? 🤨
  10. It just feels like the bike mode is an afterthought. From various angles, it doesn’t look like a convincing motorcycle.
  11. Welp, it does have malformed, underdeveloped hip guards/bellyplates. 🤪
  12. Why do you think they’re always displaying it on the stand? 😛
  13. As I mentioned a few posts up, the show had Kyle Bradstreet as a writer, who was one of the executive producers for Mr. Robot. But after watching this dreck, it’s more obvious that Sam Esmail was the driving creative force behind Mr. Robots success, and not so much Bradstreet.
  14. I’d have to see armor mode to give an accurate opinion.
  15. “Whoops, guess I’m doing this wrong”: “After all these years, Hasbro finally made a realistic headsculpt that actually looks like me (after a little bit of hair painting)”:
  16. Do I really need to say anything more about those too short hip guards/bellyplates? 🤦‍♂️
  17. And Bandai’s backpack thrusters are sitting lower when compared to the legs.
  18. In fairness, Yamato’s backpack also raises/slides up for battroid and Gerwalk:
  19. Another reason to appreciate what the Yamato design was able to pull off. Yeah, the legs are skinny, but they pulled off a solid design that looks good in all three modes. Still haven’t seen Gerwalk for Bandai’s rendition all this time either.
  20. Okay, then we’ll just refer to it as the “reimagined” SDFN-4 Global from Frontier. 😉
  21. Bellyplates still look bleh and short, and you can see the back third of the bellyplate hiding on the backpack. Not seeing any obvious changes. . . . So, nothing on that TV SDF-1 they showed last year?
  22. Let’s see if they actually fixed any of the things some of us were harping about. EDIT: @Chronocidal, guess we had the same thought! 😆
  23. Is it just me, or does it almost sound like everyone is saying “Victor” instead of Ritcher?
