A few observations: 1) I actually looked at all the production versions of the 6-inch Black Series Lukes (over on the Rebelscum Photo Archives). And it seems like only the A New Hope versions of Luke look the most Mark Hamill-ish. All the other ones (for Empire and ROTJ) just look a bit "off." 2) I'd be curious to see how these new Luke headsculpts look without the paint apps. Hasbro has a reputation of coming up with some beautiful looking headsculpts that are marred by absolutely horrid and/or sloppy paint app choices (A few GI Joe figures and Star Wars figures come to mind). 3) It's frustrating to still see these issues, when one of the big selling points for Hasbro going to a 6-inch scale was that the larger scale would help them come up with more accurate headsculpts and likenesses.

So, this is Luke as portrayed by Not-Mark Hamill, right? I guess the rule of thumb is: Stick with A New Hope versions of Luke, and avoid almost all other versions from the other movies.

Or they could go back to the old 3 3/4" scale and milk the existing molds they already have (that added in the targeting computer).

Wonder if HasLab would be crazy enough to do a full-on, in-scale Red Two X-Wing, complete with moving wings, integrated landing gear, and other cool features?

I have no idea where I'd put it. But if they make a SOC Legendary Defender, I'd hope they make the Sincline combiner too. And while we're at it, it'd be awesome if they did the Fleet of Doom robeast combiner.

Not saying you can go crazy-go-nuts posing it, but you can still get some good poses out of the 1/48 GBP-1S: -
Even after upping the scale to six inch figures, Hasbro’s still hit and miss on nailing Mark Hamill’s likeness.

Nice pics of the combos and Betas. But the stickers and WWII invasion stripes really do add some extra “oomph” to their look:

Glad smarter heads prevailed. The MCU writers are either dancing up a storm OR tearing up all those rewrites they did to edit Spidey out of Phase 4. After Far From Home, it was gonna be hard as stink to keep a continuity with Spidey not at the heart of it.

I know it’s a snowball’s chance in hell, but I’d still like for Arcadia to go for broke and release a: TV. Style. SDF-1. Transformable, 1/3000 scale or bigger, somewhat reasonably priced That is all.

Took what could have been a throwaway character, and made him into something memorable and awesome. Sucks that health issues finally took him, but it didn’t stop him from leaving his mark. Condolences to his family and friends.

[Peacock] Battlestar Galactica (not a reboot) (2019)
Mog replied to Mazinger's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm a big, BIG fan of Esmail's Mr. Robot, especially Season 1 and Season 3 (though I reserve judgment to change my opinion if he screws the pooch with this final season). His cinematography is always top-notch, and the stories have been solid so far. But even with him behind the camera on this reboot, I'm not really sold on another redo of BSG. In my opinion, Moore & Eick knocked their version out of the park. It's gonna be damn hard to top what they pulled off for four seasons.- 46 replies

Just peachy. I really hope this is so they get everything right and painted correctly. So, Houquet release is optimistically December 2020 at the earliest?

One of my blue Alphas had both hip joints crack and turn to dust, so it's being held together by paper clips in battloid mode. My red Alpha took a few stage dives over the years, so one of the feet/booster parts is cracked. Still holds in place, but definitely hesitant to transform it anymore. I also broke off one of the arm-to-leg connections, trying to get everything to compress and compact in fighter mode. When I had the greenie, I had to super glue its midsection to keep it from collapsing in battloid mode. The Shadow Alpha I once owned had the infamous banana boat syndrome in fighter mode. So, when trying to position everything to reduce that effect, I wound up breaking off one of the winglets. Yeah, the Toynami Alphas are fidgety and fragile as all get-out. BUT they do look beautiful when you combo it with the Beta.

Umm, am I the only one who sees this paint scheme and is reminded of the so-called Stealth color scheme from the Robotech: Battlecry video game?

Since a significant chunk of my collections are customs, I wonder how they would value them. Would their replacement value be equal to the number of figures I purchased to make the single custom figure? I mean there’s one custom I made from parts of at least 8 figures. Or in Valk terms, I have one custom with a ton of custom stickers I purchased. However, the guy that made the stickers utilized a printer that’s been discontinued for years now, and the ink and other supplies for that specific printer are virtually impossible to find now. How would they value that? I could see myself being that guy that gives an appraiser a massive headache.

The hefty weight of the combined form is gonna be an issue with any stand. Maybe two or three flightpose/flexidisplay stands could do it? But not sure if they ever resolved the paint rub issue with their clear ends. And not sure if the newer versions have a hollowed out or solid base. Again Voltie’s weight will be the biggest factor.

Forget the mammoth! I want a partner T-Rex that can tag team with me to take down a woolly meat feast.

I'll concede that the old-school version has features that the SOC doesn't have (like Yellow having those guns/rockets that popped out from the sides of his head). And SOC canNOT do that "Cross and pound arms on the chest" pose that Voltron does when he first combines: BUT C'MON! SOC is just so stinkin' poseable and has so many wonderful weapons! Can definitely do the "All Lions ROAR!" pose: "I'll start by dual-wielding against the Robeast of the Week (RotW)! That will be a change-up from the norm!": "Whoa! RotW almost hit me there!" "Go spear and mouth-blade combo against RotW?" "Okay lost the spear. Maybe if I use the mouth blade and shield. . ." "Wait. Who are we kidding?! Why the HELL AM I WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME HERE?!!" Two-handed grip: Dual-wielding with Blazing Sword. . . a much better combo!
