  1. No arguments here, I'm not overly fond of the Alaska Base scheme either, mostly because I don't have any "feeling" or nostalgia for the design vs the arcade scene where I do. I guess I keep harping on the Hasegawa partnership because I think that would be the best bet for Arcadia to put out some cool (cool-ish) non-cannon paint schemes. I'd be down for some low visibility schemes, hell the only 1/48 VF-1 from my original collection that I didn't sell a few years back was the first Low Vis VF-1A. I like this thread because it lets us just articulate those "wouldn't it be cool if" ideas that bounce around in our head/imaginations. It'd be even more cool if some of those realistic, or pie-in-the-sky wishes made their way into reality. -b. -b.
  2. Disappointed by the news of a standard release too, and certainly not looking forward to missing any sleep or going thru midnight pre-order madness (especially since I'd rather go thru that nonsense for a reissue 25S). Oh well, such is life for a Macross toy collector. With the better pictures I've gone from "meh" to really digging the head sculpt - especially the visor. -b.
  3. Honestly, it's been so long since I've actually watched that scene - I just remember most of the match being 1A's. Re: whether or not Bandai's clear v1 25F, or any clear, Valkyrie related items have sold well. I dunno, IIRC most of them were limited releases but I'm sure someone else can chime in on how well they may have done for Yamato and Bandai. edit to add - IF this, that and the other fall into place and a transparent release from Arcadia happens then I hope the plastic holds up. It goes w/out saying that brittle plastic or other issues would be pretty sucky. -b.
  4. Right! That would be pretty sweet. -b.
  5. Well I guess it all depends on what one finds interesting. Nothing wrong with having a wish or two or three or four. Right? -b.
  6. Too funny, that's very similar to how I felt about the various YF-29 releases, especially the first/Alto version. -b.
  7. Speaking of hardcore/vocal minority, I'd also love to see Arcadia release a set of Max and Milia VF-1A's from the arcade game; Those would be (2 more) holy-grails for me. -b.
  8. Mixed bag here. As others have said sometimes the way pre-orders are processed doesn't make a lot of sense, I seem to recall waiting a week or so for one item after it'd been released before it shipped. The only other negative/neutral experience I've had with NY was when they shipped me the wrong item. I contacted them to let them know of the error and have it exchanged but in reply I got a grocery list of hoops to jump thru as if I was making it up. The item they sent me was more expensive (not by a significant amount) so I just decided to forgo the hoops and keep what they sent. I've ordered from them since then and haven't had any issues that were under their control or their fault (see the long shipping times with SAL). Everything else has been "OK". I'd say ordering with HLJ, AmiAmi is preferable for me but they are not horribly-horrible it just means that NY is not my first choice for items with a wide-release. -b.
  9. Peeks-in, whispers "Hasegawa collaboration", peeks back out. PS = and yeah, some re-issues of the more iconic Valks like the 1D, Elint and Super Ostrich would be pretty awesome too. -b.
  10. Very cool - thanks for posting these. Edit to add; Like Scream Man said I'd also love to see some side profile pictures of fighter mode with the landing gears up. -b.
  11. The Sentinels look good. I was waiting to see if anyone posted about Quicksilver and the internet fan-rage that's apparently going on. Personally I think his costume looks horrible, and along with Bishop and Sunspot for the worst of the group. IMHO future Wolverine, Blink and poor Rogue look the best. Everyone else and their respective costume/uniforms are "meh". -b.
  12. Interesting, thanks for posting Gakken. I will wait more info before I commit to $ 90 when it could be available at HLJ or other sources for a more reasonable price. -b.
  13. All I'm saying is that the ocelot rug had better not turn out to be Babou - even though Cheryl said it wasn't. -b.
  14. These threads are always good reading during the development stages of this, that or the other Valkyrie. My fingers are still firmly crossed for an issue-free first release and I can't wait until April. And a big thanks to those that keep us updated with Twitter feeds and pics! -b.
  15. My 2nd of (2) Registered SAL packages arrived today. Just so odd (to me) that one arrived weeks ago and the second just showed up today. Bears repeating that I won't use SAL again, regardless of any savings. -b.
  16. In your opinion, I owned and sold my copy of the first War Machine 6th scale figure from IM2. Like most of the earlier Iron Man releases the ability to pose it in a dynamic way made that figure "meh" in my book. I rather like the cleaner aesthetic and evolution of the design. Plus the poses it's able to achieve are miles ahead of Mark I. -b.
  17. Too bad Iron Man 3 featured the Iron Patriot armor instead of War Machine 2.0. WM is pretty damn sweet; http://www.elljay-hobby-collection.com/2014/01/24/war-machine-2-0-ironman-3-ht-mms-diecast/ Might have to track one down for myself. -b.
  18. Reminds me of an episode of Archer (might have been the very 1st episode) where the answer to a very smart-ass/rhetorical question was "cosplay enthusiasts!". And well...yeah. -b.
  19. They were different. I don't have any experience with MSiA figures so I can't draw comparisons, but here's a write-up from CollectionDX; http://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2002/wing_gundam_zero -b.
  20. Agree. I had the Arch Enemy Wing Zero (I might still have it boxed up somewhere) and thought it was amazing for the price and for the fact that it was something I was able to buy right off of the shelf. -b.
  21. Apparently size does matter gents. And yeah, those with the means, even if posting how outrageous the price is will probably still open up those wallets. -b.
  22. Re: the color, it's probably a fair assumption that the posted magazine scans are a little dark. The picture that David H posted shows that the shade might not be as light as the VF-25S but not as dark as the scans have shown. I just plan to wait and see some newer or additional pictures for better details, especially the head sculpt which could be really awesome, or really not. -b.
