Have you seen these F-22 Raptor prototype pics?
Knight26 replied to JValk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Old pics, and contrary to popular belief there is very little exhaust residue to be cleaned up after a missile launch because how fast it is off the rail. Even on the missile launcher I work on it, the worst you get is a some scorched paint around the front of the launhcer, nothing more then that, unless you have a hangfire. Of course if an F-22 got a hang fire on one of its sidewinders it would be beyond screwed, one bad holdbatch latch squib and you could kiss the F-22 goodbye. -
Update Maties, the Mk-3 is finished, so the redesign kick is finished for now. Comments appreciated as always. The Mk-3 modifications are as follows: 1) new hex-shaped wing 2) partially recessed missile launchers in the wings, two of each type 3) new plaser cannons, in triple flex mounts on each leading edge 4) installation of twin Thrasher cannons, basically large fletchette cannons 5) removale of original twin engines, replacing with four outspaced engine nacelles 6) new tails mounted to the engines, and old tail mounts removed 7) paint scheme of VF-84 Jolly Rogers This one is the pure fighter variant.

Shoji Kawamori Patlabor Aircraft Designs
Knight26 replied to nanashino's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That is a sweet looking Eagle, I don't remember it in the movie though, I remember hte silohette of the F-16 upgrade but not this. The really neat thing about this is it isn't outside the realm of actual being plausible, I like it. -
Funky, but what's the backstory on it, why make those particular modificiations?

Star Wars Episode 3 Spoilers Thread
Knight26 replied to zeo-mare's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Looking at the pics, I must say that Hayden is actually looking somewhat bad@$$ed in a couple shots, maybe he can be Vader after all. Portman is also starting to look attractive, but I'll still take Princess Leia over her. Also, am I the only one bugged by the voice over in the newest TV ads, its too chipper and light, like its for a movie about an animated gay mouse, not something that should be a dark action flick. -

I agree BSU, but man I grew up reading my Dad's old Conan books and magazines, this might actually bring into playing those damned MMORPGs. Crom why does thow mock me so?

Really what program is that?

That thing is beauty, I wonder how sturdy it is, and how hard it was to design, i would love to make one, and do the same with my own weapons designs.

Kurt saying such things will only open you up for requests to do so, and that being said, I know exactly how I want you to make mine up, lol. So, does that mean I put you down for one? Oh yeah I am all over getting one of these, I am all about two seaters. IMHO the perfect VF-1 crew setup would be a two seater, with a dedicated pilot, and a Marine WSO. The WSO would wear negative feedback input suits so that in Battroid mode they could take control in Battroid mode.

Science and Technology MEGA THREAD
Knight26 replied to Max Jenius's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah the google satellite views are not updated regularly. The newest shots are maybe a year old and in some areas they are clearly older, on the order of up to five years judging by the resolution. What surprises me is that military bases are shown and not fuzzed out. -
Oh man I remember saying that to people all the time when I was kid, kind of stopped now, where did you pick it up from?
-
Holy Shreg those are nice, but for that cost the thing better be solid die-cast.

Said the same thing on SSM and it was suggested that he meant the Rudder pedal, but in space when you hit the rudder it would cause thrusters to fire to effect yaw. I hope that's what he really meant, otherwise, arrgh, stupid hollywood writers need to get time in a plane before writing about them, the controls are not like in cars.
