It's never shown or stated that Starbuck hooked up with Apollo. It is that she was engaged to Zack, and yes she did get smashed at the Colonial day party and end up in the sack with Baltar, but I think that may have been the booze, lol. There is obviously some tension there between her and Apollo as well, perhaps she has something of a thing for him, maybe out of guilt for what happened to his brother, or perhaps they are genuine feelings, but she does not act on them out of guilt. That is probably something that will be explored later, maybe if/when they get the resistance fighters on Caprica back to the fleet.

If so, no that is not a cheat, because I doubt that they will be a whole lot better shape, except that they may have more personnel and armament onboard. In fact it would be surprising if they didn't encounter another surviving ship, just so long as it doesn't arrive looking brand new and going "hey what happened?"

I don't consider the Ragnar thing a "cheat." Such weapons depots actually exist in reality, and it was more integral to the plot then just as a place to get weapons. Also when you look at Ragnar all it really had was ammo, maybe some small arms, but no ships, no additional personnal, just a semi-secured hidden ammo depot. Now if they were to suddenly find another one then that would be a cheat.

I think up until this point Adama has allowed the presidancy and government as it is now because it was already in place when the fleet got to them at Ragnar. Had Roslin been aboard Galactica when it all started I'm sure ADama would have slapped her presidency down, or made her more of an administrator with him actually in charge. As it is, the fleet followed her to Ragnar, so they saw her as the real leader, with ADama mearly there to defend them and therefore subserviant to her. I agree that the governing body of the fleet needs to change drastically, and I think it will once the fleet merges back together and moreso when the Pegasus shows up. Up until now Adama has really kept a blind eye to the fleet and its day to day operations and has been concentating more on its defense and keeping it alive and moving away from the Cylons. His plan to land the fleet on Kobol was actually a sound one from a military standpoint. THink about, fewer ships would therefore be dependent on the Galactica, water, food, raw materials could be gathered, grown and mined on Kobol. Then the more capable craft could be retrofitted into combat ships, right now they are on the run too much to sit and retrofit civilian yachts into combat ships. I like the Zaric character and think he should get more screen time. He is right that the status quo needs to change, and while a dangerous person I think he should replace Roslin. Roslin is just too interested in keeping things as they were, she doesn't realize that the way people lead their lives needs to change if they are to survive for any length of time. I think Adama is also starting to realize this, and like I said I see major changes coming in the structure of the fleet. As for why people seem to be acting oddly, survival situations can cause that. The stress of running for your life can cause you to look for hope in the oddest places. Roslin tells Starbuck that she can find earth and that Adama is full of it about knowing where it is. Starbuck talks to Adama, and because she knows him so well she knows when he is lying, so she plays the hand that is given her. I can understand her leaving the people on Caprica behind for now. Right now they are more useful there harassing the Cylons and forcing them to commit resources on Caprica then they would be on the fleet. Right now the fleet doesn't need a lot of ground pounders and being short on fighters at the moment, nor do they need many more pilots. I would have liked to have seen her take some of their wounded though as the fleet would be able to provide them better medical care at least. The whole there are only 12 cylon models doesn't bother me because BSG has always had this thing for the number 12 in the colonies. AS such since the Cylons were built by the colonies the number 12 would be burned into their lower processing functions as well. COmplaining that their should be more then 12 models is logical but at the same time, remember that their core Cylons are machines, and machines do not like change, nor do they variations. It is very easy to make hundreds of copies of a single unit and in the process weed out any that have defects. However once you start adding more and more variety to the mix it is harder to find the "QA" issues and in the process you can turn out a lot of bad products. The Cylons are obviously still following this model, and lets not forget they are just a little insane, primarily because they have lost their place in the universe. You brought up a lot of good points vinnie, and one of the great things about this show is it provokes thinking and conversation. Once you really delve in and think about what is going on you can see how things are working and subtlities that aren't caught by the average viewer, who is just there to see the big booms and doesn't care about plot or character development.

Looks interesting, so what is ace combat with robots? Also, I looked at site with the vidoes, and none of the Videos show the VF-1, just the gundam and gundam-esque mechs. So is the VF-1 still in it?

Nice but I doubt that his "afterburners" do much to improve thrust, they probably just eat up his fuel way faster than those mini-turbines already do. Also it doesn't look like the wings fold much, I think they are just springloaded, but still that is nice.

Actaully neid the F-404 and F-414 are the exact same size, its the engine mounting lugs that changed. So while a F-414 could fit in the engine bay of a standard hornet there is no way you could mount it in there because of the changed mounting brackets.

Oh so that's where I left my poison laced keyboard, man I always misplace that thing. Seriously though even when i was a hard core gamer I never spent more then 2 or 3 hours straight playing before taking a break, getting up movign around, doing something, anything else.

Well there is also the thought that the Zent are little more then technician level when it comes to repair. There are several levels or repair when it comes to shipboard repair, technician level (the sailors), RMC level (regional maintenace centers, one step above the sailors), ISEA level (Me, technical experts and engineers who go in when things are really bad), and depot/shipyard level (take the thing off and completely overhaul it). The factory satelites probably have your depot/shipyard level repair facilites for all systems onboard ship. More then likely the zentraedi could do day to day repairs and maybe even some more complex level repairs, but nothing on the level of complete overhaul and replacement. A ship just can't operate without techs who can maintain their gear from normal wear and tear. They were probably greatly impressed by the SDF-1 because the primative humans repaired it without a factory satelitte, on the ground no less, and because it was completely retrofitted to serve human needs. Imagine how shocked the US fleet would be if they pulled into Tokyo harbor one day to find an old midway class completely retrofitted with japanesse components and was as capable, if not moreso, then our own.

I have four 1:48s right now, but they are on display at home. My Low Viz sits opposite my flight helmet from my 1:48 Armor Mig-29, while my VF-1A Super Hikaru, VF-1S Strike Roy, and VF-1J Super Hikaru grace the top shelf of my bookcase. I have several other 1:60s, and the first run 1:72s as well, but they are boxed up, place was getting too cluttered. I also have several 1:18 planes and helos all over my apt, I am quickly running out of room.

THing is they are large enough that even if you are strong enough to manage them one handed your arms would have to be pretty long and lets face it it wouldn't be fun. YOu really need to two people to play with them and have fun, like I do with my young cousins every once in a while, so long as they are careful.

Actually they initially started the chase/capture because reaction weapons were used against them, and they had lost the ability to make reaction weapons some time in the past. I believe they are referred to at first simply as "the lost weapons technology." I will have to rewatch the early episodes to be sure.

I have a good laptop, but it is a little difficult to carry around on the ship.
