Any chance at all for some kind of state side theater release? It's been awhile since I've been able to sit down in a theater and watch some anime (not counting Ghibli's last couple of works).

Well, this year the wife and I bought a house for Christmas, so I'm kind of on valk restriction. I did manage to sneak in and buy a couple of things here and there (won a reissue fire valk for $33 on evilbay; picked up an alpha from snip312). Other than that, my bank pwns me from now until around 2036.

Wasn't Kawamori involved with the design of a lot of the original G1 Takara transformers? I recall a post here of a magazine interview Kawamori did and in the article he talked about his involvment with the original transformers designs. *edited for lack of sense and coffee*

With all of these re-releases Yamato had better be building up a warchest to show us something new. Like a 2 seater vf-1, or maybe the sv to go along with the vf-0.

I've tried to listen and watch these clips and the most aggravating voice has to be Hikaru's so far. Right now his octive range is is like nails on a chalk board for me. I know he's only 16 at the start of the show, but he sounds like he's 11 and his voice is cracking and he has cotton up his nostrils. The rest of the cast I could live with in spite of some apparent overacting/bad direction (Global, Focker), but Hikkie's voice is just too much. Going to have to pass and stick with my animeigo set.

Looks okay, but I'm not dropping any loot until I read some positive reviews. Is it just me or does Voltron look like he's been losing some weight? This MPC Voltron look like a linebacker in comparison.

That looks like one of those very special episodes of My Little Pony. The unicorn appears to have a rainbow tattoo on her side. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

trueblueyes: your avatar is STILL animated. I think A1 pwns you. I'm pretty sure you're not even allowed to converse with A1 due to his extreme awesomeness. Just posting after A1 has probably caused you to pop blood vessels in your fingers.

I'm starting to think that this isn't that great myself. Yes, I'll pick up one so that it can stay minty fresh, while I have my other on display, but we could be getting new paint schemes. There's a lot of possibilites out there and some of them have been mentioned here. It seems more like a wasted opportunity to re-sell the hikkie 1s and the M&Ms. We could be getting a Kakizaki variant 1a, an angel birds squadron with one of a kind tampo printing, alaska base colors, or any one of a few squadrons that we see for seconds at a time. I dunno, I guess I'm just getting bored with the vf1 design.

I'll take a pic when I get home tonight of my 1st issue if nobody posts one before then.

The first issue has a boxy headrest, the 2nd has a concave headreast that follows the line of the helmet. All you should really need to do is open the flap and take a look. If you do a forum search, I'm pretty sure we've dicussed this before with pics.

My least favorite part of Macross is the Virgin Road episode. Not only is it painful to watch, but the love story is REALLY REALLY far fetched. "Hi, my name is Miriya and I'm here to kill you" "Hi, my name is Max and you're beautiful. Want to get married you beautiful green haired alien? Oh, wait, let me humiliate you one more time in combat...." Miriya is a good looking alien, but this is too much. I cringe throughout the episode.

Hmm... I didn't realize (or didn't care more than likely) that Frank Agrama was still at HG. Maybe we'll finally get our wish and HG will finally go belly up. If they can prove that his profits or deals weren't legit, doesn't the US government/FBI reserve the right to shut down all of his operations? Was Frank Agrama (under the HG umbrella) the one who negotiated with Tatsunoko, and ultimately, purchase the rights to Macross?

Maybe Bandai can pickup the rights to Mac Plus and Mac2 and give them a proper release with some real extras and cleaned up video/audio.
