The problem is Roy never had Supers or Reaction Missiles in DYRL. If you set it up like that the Cannon Police will "SWAT" you in the middle of the night.
I got two sets of TV Supers............I have no idea what for. The probably never going to happen SDFM Hikaru 1S release? Or do a custom Hikaru based on the Roy? The decals aren't a big deal but where do you get a Hikaru Pilot with a SDFM Space helmet/suit at? Sacrifice one from a DYRL 1S and paint it so you can never really sell that DYRL 1S. Or put it in Fighter or Gerwalk? Geez Bandai, you make this stuff hard.
Well, that's true, but if you have both Roy's 1S and Hikaru's 1J (just one of each in my case a few more in yours ) and you only have one in fighter/gerwalk, and one in Battroid, you can always have the visible pilot be the right one.

As long as I get my Roy VF-1S, I'm good. Of course, I'll have to see about getting a missile set for it, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
If you preordered the TV super parts, then they come with the TV reaction missiles.

It's up to you if you want to wait, but the link above describes how to dissemble the shoulders, clean them, repair them using the loctite plastic bonding system, file the knurl, then reassemble them. Ive done it on a half dozen valks a few completely failed, and a few preemptive with very good results. You still want to handle them gently, preferably lifting the shoulder joint from below while transforming, but I haven't had one fail yet after the fix.

Check the last 5-10 pages, both issues have been addressed.

I passed on the Eta, I'm just waiting on the shadow version, if they don't make that, I'll just get Eta when they reissue it. If they don't, then I'll just get one on the secondary market. But I'm pretty damned sure that they're going to have a shadow fighter if they're going to be making the red and the green version too.
That would be cool, but I think most of us would want a version with different shoulders and hands to be more animation accurate even it is re-envisioned. Still, would be cool in the black/grey. Not sure how easily or cheaply they could do the new molds.

@levzloi Very nice set and custom VF-1J. Is the arm armor supposed to be placed differently on the VF-1J?
Ah... the screws, didn't notice that, I put the parts on in Battroid mode, and I didn't even notice I got them reversed.

Whoa they all look amazing! Great work! Now you're making me regret never getting a Cavaliers.
By far my favorite paint scheme.

Gorgeous customs, @levzloi. Inspiring work.
Must be nerve-wracking to transform them, though...
oh, only the 1J head and the super parts are painted, the rest is stickered up originals, wouldn't want to misrepresent my work.

Ahhhhh, what can be better than a Yamato VF-1A Cavaliers
How about two?
You know while we're at it, why not three?
Wait, one is a custom VF-1J Cavaliers Squad leader? Crazy!!
How about custom Super Parts!!!!! ......OK now that's just excessive.
But Damn.... He looks good.
I've been working on getting these guys together and painted for over a year, nice to finally have them done. Thanks to @tekering for sharing the the color pallet way back when, and to @connor99 for the spare pair of Super Parts UNSPACY kites.

back to the 1/48, i'm curious what 1/48 Movie Roy will offer that's different from TV roy 1s aside from the face shape.
Different pilot, different degree of Tampo (see the other TV Valks, different colored arrow on the head, and the VF-1S Hikaru head.

Yeah the grey and red really make it stand out more.

Well here you go, not a perfect result, but looks pretty %$&*ing cool in my book. Thanks for everybody's input!

Not gonna lie, my first reaction was "rebranding the sequel trilogy already?"... but this might be marginally better.

I think a parts-former solid boom like Toynami may be the most structurally sound idea. That is if you want to zoom it around and not just display it. That being said it will be interesting to see what Sentinel comes up with.

I think I've neglected leaving feedback here, My Bad. I've bought or sold to all of the following, and they were all easy transactions with no issues
Corrinald, connor99, Buddhais, dafob, Ryoma, Skull One, cdogbites, kanedaestes, Ridden001, anubis20

There are definitely a lot of scenarios that could play out. I don’t remember for sure since I got my 1J preordered but I could swear I saw those were going for $300+ right off the bat after release.
I picked up my 1J two days after release for $257.82 shipped from rakutan through From Japan. The price didn't take long to skyrocket on that one, but it was available, and Roy's 1S will be too.

15 minutes ago, Stranger said:Whats frustrating is that I was going to originally buy from a different site from Asia that had a brand new copy (FromJapans one was used) that would have been $200 plus $50 shipping. So this used copy will end up costing $40 more if they don't go down on the shipping. I am gonna try letting them know that the toy box being protected during shipping isnt a concern for me, so hopefully they can ship in smaller box or wrap it as a compromise. (I would rather trust the styrofoam to protect the toy itself).
Generally shipping isn't quite that bad, but this is a very large/heavy toy, the other line to be ware of shipping on is the Yamato 1/48's, especially the supers and even more so the stealth strike, nearly cried myself to sleep that night after seeing the shipping costs.

Just now, Stranger said:At this point, I'd rather they just wrap it in shipping paper and let the styrofoam protect the toy so I am not paying $100 for a box! I am going to message them that as a compromise.
They won't do it, as I said, it says in their fine print when you ready for shipping, that it's up to the shipping manager of the day. Welcome to try though. At the best of times shipping from Japan is an arm and a leg. This is not the best of times.

31 minutes ago, Stranger said:Does anyone have the Hi-Metal R Monster box and can measure its dimensions for me? As mentioned, I purchased one from FromJapan over the weekend.
I used their shipping estimator and put in Monster's dimensions I found on Amazon and HLJ here: https://www.hlj.com/hi-metal-r-hwr-00-mkii-destroid-monster-bann05211 as 30.2cm x 30.0cm x 27.1cm / 2.290 kg
Using those dimensions, their estimate was 2900 yen.
But now that the item has arrived to them, they are saying the final packing is
Weight: 3.47 kg Dimensions: 61×42×34 cm
That difference now makes the cheapest packing option 13,453 yen - which is a $100 difference!!!!
Can someone let me know the actual dimensions of the box please? Thank you
You're not getting the Monster box shipped, you're getting the Monster box packed in a bigger box and shipped. They have great customer service, but I've had more than one shipping heart attack with them. The really bad part is you can't tell them to change it, it's up the to packing manager of the day.
