Got my Iota today from the front desk. It was delivered yesterday by Amazon JP via DHL

It is what I was expecting and yeah I'm still a lil meh about the green. Gonna have to paint the yellow figure later

Sentinel added two pylons for the wings, but outside of being in the content list they are listed nowhere in the instructions. Future stuff in the works?

Mount Mospeada riders to the wings for extra firepower?  😁

Thank you @no3Ljm.. I don't know how I missed this thread.

Back to the DX conversation GBP conversation,

I just noticed that the Armored Valk has 2 pilots, does anyone know why that is? Are they just giving an extra pilot or have I missed something from the show.

It's very likely in two separate boxes bundled together, one likely identical to the first VF-1J release minus the stand, the second for the armor parts.  The armor parts alone were also available, and my guess is they're using the same packaging on both to reduce costs.  So the atmosphere helmet would be with the Valk, and the space helmet would be with the armor.  Likely the same reason we're getting two Valk heads.  Just a guess.

Thank you for your reply.. :) , Lately I have been looking at buyee for yahoo auctions for DX's I have missed and it just seems like a convoluted process. At no point  do I get a sense of a final total before buying, which makes me nervous of the hidden costs they might add in the end

No worries, There will likely be local shipping and consolidation fees in there, as well as a final shipping fee, the first two are mostly negligible, shipping is what takes a hunk out of you.  Also, I'm not sure if this qualifies as Pre order talk, but the appropriate thread for that is here.

    Hi Everyone,

I have just recently discovered this wonderful community and I am new to collecting and certainly very late to the PO game for the the DX line.
I have also been reading through several PO, buy/sale etc threads and this is what I have understood on how this works for fans who do not live in Japan, please do correct me if I am way-off on my understanding on how this works.

    1. The DX line is available on the Tamashi website or through the many Japanese retailers like amiami, Luna Park etc. None of the US retailers like BBTS carry them.

    2. To get the MSRP on any of the DX line one needs to be sure that they get in a PO on "PO day" through one of the retailers (because Tamashi does not ship to US addresses) else you are out of luck of getting it in the MSRP price.

    3. On launch date some retailers may have this available for purchase at MSRP but realistically one must expect the prices to be above MSRP for the most part.

    4. Based on the demand there may be times when we cannot find it through any of the regular Japanese retailers and the only option would be to look secondary market and some fellow forum members who might have an extra and be willing to help.

Since I do not have the first edition VF-1J Hikaru yet I was hoping to get it along with the  VF-1J + GBP set and what would be my best option come September?

I do understand that buying is kinda a gamble, but I was hoping to get you experienced folks view on which way to go.

Also, I apologize if I posted this in the wrong thread, but I posted it here as it is a GBP related question.
    Thanks for your time

Sounds about right, I recommend giving it a day or two after release to let prices settle in, and then ordering one off Yahoo Japan auctions through a proxy like FromJapan, much simpler than it sounds.  Just expect to pay through the nose on shipping.

Heck...that movie beats out TF:TLK!!! lol

it's not 100% awful, it has a lot of redeeming features, but the constant voiceovers were a poor choice, and the deviations in the weirding way were really stupid.  If you feel like watching it one last time, check out the spicedivers edit on youtube.  He took the theatrical release, the extended edition, TV version, and deleted scenes, and edited them together in the most logical way possible.  Sill not a great movie, but not 100% awful like I said, and I love it for nostalgia as well.

From the opening on Caladan in the 1984 movie, Gurney Hallack and Paul dueled; Gurney told Paul "Good...the slow blade penetrates the shield" (1:46):

As long as you remember that the weirding way blasters we’re totally made up for that movie.  🤔

To be more specific, what really made me laugh was the scene where they're all fighting with swords and the main guy stabs someone, then stops in the middle of battle to open his visor and try to look badass.

And all the silly pseudo-religious wailing/singing.

Who knows if the movie will be good or bad. But the trailer seemed pretty cheesy IMO.

If you’re not familiar with Dune, I can definitely forgive you that perception.  However it does deal heavily with religion/prophecy, they fight with bladed weapons because personal shields have made projectile weapons obsolete,  the scene with Paul lifting his visor is likely from a vision, or the closing scenes of the movie revealing his transformation.  Assuming the adaptation is well done it will be action packed, and very deep fate of humanity in the universe type of stuff.  Anyway, it’s not a “light” movie.

I would like to be surprised though.  I agree, but I think if they manage to surprise us on this, it would make for some very awkward moments later on, and potentially fun.  Interesting though, at this rate, there will now have to be retconn'ed in a network of clones who are turning against the empire.

Well it’s not hard to imagine that the empire simply attempted to eradicate all the remaining clones once a rebellion began in earnest.  So not much retconning may be necessary, and that would also explain Rex Gregor and Fox hiding out in exile.

I don’t think Crosshairs will make it out of this season or that character won’t be sticking around with the squad. His squad abandoned him and his attempt to convert them to the dark side didn’t work. The Empire decided to write him off now. I just don’t see his character sticking around as a permanent fixture.

    Spoiler

Possible, they might set him up as the hero sacrificing himself for his batch mates as a type of redemption, or he might escape and go rogue, ala bounty hunter.  I think it’s pretty doubtful he rejoins the bad batch in any capacity.

I have my own reasons for being disappointed with Loki, but I think the guy’s fishing too much for things that aren’t there.  Too surface level/superficial with his commentary.

I tend to agree.  I feel pretty strongly that particular set of views has been injected into our pop culture, however I don't think overstating the case helps.  Just sounds whiny.

Yup. It's basically done. It's just the white underlining that's left.

Yeah, there is a method to partially disassemble, scrape the rest off, and then color the white underlining, might have to do some searching though.

    Wow, lots happened last night.

    Kaminoan's are soooooooo screwed.

Is Gregor not firing on all cylinders?  I forgot what he was supposed to be like, but he has that nervous laugh....was his chip eventually removed by the time of Rebels?

Kind of surprised that's not the first thing they talk about when they encounter other clones.

    Hunter's in deep kim chee.

I really can't wait to see next week's episode now.

    Spoiler

I think the idea is that Gregor has been deteriorating, he just had amnesia after suffering a brain injury in an explosion when we meet him in the Clone Wars, Now he's a little off kilter, and in Rebels he's kind of a full blown nut job.  If my memory is right, this is only the third time they've shown Clone Commandos in the shows.  First was really a brief cameo during Savage Opress's inro Clone Wars episodes, 2nd was Gregor's intro Clone Wars episodes, and this would be the third.  Did I miss any?

    Thanks sqidd.

Looking forward to the next DX VF-1 announcement after the 1J+GBP.

Given the way they have done their other valks, I'm pretty sure this will be a box for the valk, nearly if not identical to the original release box, plus a second box for the GBP parts, same box for the bundle and stand alone I'm guessing, bundled together in a cardboard sleeve like the Roy and Hikaru releases that came with special stands.  So if you buy the bundle, it should be easy to sell the armor on here if you don't want it.

I'm not sure if this is accurate but I do remember seeing an old 80's Super VF-1D artwork that has orange color on the booster section and the rest are still bluish green. Or the orange/khaki Supers are just Toynami's? :search:

If you follow the Max/Miria convention you'd have to pick one or the other.  Most likely orange since it's already majority khaki

I still haven't received a peep from Luna Park, and I placed my order back in December... I'm beginning to get concerned that I'm SOL.  😟

I think this last weekend was a holiday, I wouldn't read to much into delays at this point.

    Thanks! I'll try that fix.

I've repaired a few adapters over the years as well. I was actually thinking of all the new valks coming down the pipeline that I will have no Yeti stands for. :(

No problem, it's not the prettiest, but these adapters are usually in hard to see locations anyway.  Also find some large heavy duty paperclips, the small ones may not fill the dremal drill hole.  In the case below, I was going for robust, not pretty.

Well, with Yeti gone indefinitely, I'm going to have to start using the default stands for Bandai valks and track down old Yamato stands (unless Arcadia reissues theirs).

I guess that Walkure stand that comes with the 31AX will have to grow on me...

use the plastic welding superglue to glue the separate pieces together and then drill/dremel out several paperclip diameter holes at different angles, inject said holes with superglue and insert paperclip through hole, cut ends off, let dry and then you have a metal pin reinforced Yeti Stand Adapter.  I've had to do that to at least two of mine that have broken over the years.
