  1. He looks closer to Dr. Sivana than Breetai.
  2. Good Day Folks I am in discussion with Captain America about making a model of the Bioroid Assault Craft from Super Cavalry Southern Cross and would like to gauge the interest of members on this forum: http://mechajournal.com/2015/11/roil-tiluvo-aerospace-assault-transport/ https://ixquick-proxy.com/do/show_picture.pl?l=english&rais=1&oiu=http%3A%2F%2Fmechajournal.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2017%2F04%2FRoil-Quekasm-Air-Defense-Boat-with-Roil-Tiluvo-Assault-Corvette.jpg&sp=6a9c2200c3a395ea0f6f15a5e181364c The model will be around 20 cm (7 or so inches) in length, have a dark translucent canopy (potentially) and a rotatable under turret. The intention is to have a quality/accurate model but with minimum bells and whistles to keep it affordable. Ballpark figure per model would be around 170 - 180 Canadian dollars per kit (note this may change depending on actual costs) and we would need around 25 to 30 orders. If Cap takes on the project you will then place your directly orders with him as per usual. As many persons may be financially committed at the moment this project is targeted for later in the year, but should there be enough interested persons up front it may kick off sooner. If you are interested in then please indicate this by posting on this thread.
  3. These 1/6 figs will be coming in waves for me throughout the year. Who can resist the Galactic Empire?
  4. Looks like they're preparing for a multi-dimensional invasion.
  5. I have read that was the intention of the design, but the only place I can recall actually seeing it that bad is in Cap's kits.I did not get quite that packed in like a sardine impression from seeing Kamjin in his Glaug, or the Recon pod pilot when they were setting the trap on Mars. Also notice how a pod pilot was able to step out of the back of his pod in messenger. Surely impossible if its that crammed. (That back hatch is odd though I would have had the front of the pod flip up so the pilot can just jump out.)
  6. At this point I have not seen anything to make me care about the Protoculture. Mb they should do a backstory series about them like Halo did with the Forerunners. Come to think of it the DYRL armour could work quite well for the Nousjadeul-Ger. The Meltrans use a flight suit for their Queadluuns so it sort of fits. But for the pods etc, infantry/ship security I think the classic armour works way better. The classic armour foot even looks like its meant to fit pod foot levers or something. Not that I don't like this idea in its own right, but this version seems more like a cipher than a character. I was enjoying Macross the First up until the Zentradi warrior climbed out of his pod and I saw the ugly armour/helmet (Mysterio is that you?). The visuals are as much a part of what made SDFM my fave of all Macross as the story. So when I say I want it remade I mean simply upgrade the animation quality, yaqonda. In other words what they did for Macross Pachinko extended to the entire 36 episodes. It would be absolutely awesome. Having said that I would not be averse to them ALSO doing a DYRL version remake, I mean is there such a thing as too much Macross Awesome? (of course I know I'm just dreaming in both cases)
  7. If I were making a Han Solo movie it would have: 1) Stormtroopers 2) Boba Fett 3) How Chewbacca and Solo became friends 4) Han and Chewbacca vs Stormtroopers 5)The game where Han won the Falcon 6) Han and Chewbacca vs Boba Fett 7) Bossk and the other ESTB bounty hunters So I wonder if any of these elements will be in the movie.
  8. Curious to see how it turned out. If not still WIP that is.

Or we spend our money elsewhere. (Like on all those tempting hot toys 1/6 Star Wars Imperial Troopers.)
  10. You're quoting all the reasons I like the designs. I like the 18th-century-Commander-in-Space look. And the curvy mercenary-space-Knight-with-bandolier-emblem-backpack-armour is my fave in all of sci-fi/ anime. (Have you also noticed the piscine suggestive shape of the light armour helmet? Just look at it side view, its suggestive of an open fish's mouth which is really appropriate under the circumstances.) The DYRL armour just looks like a cosmonaut with a humpty-dumpty helmet on to me. And do we need to look any further than Exedol to prove my point? The DYRL version is a broccoli wearing a shroud, whereas the SDFM version not only has that 18th century look (with tails no less) but also blazer piping. Yes. I have read pretty much the same. But this is about an SDFM remake. If they use DYRL designs then its really a DYRL remake. Not to me they don't. Even the chestplate is featureless on the First Order trooper. Thats a good retcon explanation. Cant comment on the classic's practicality but it just looks great. Perception is not necessarily reality. I just drew a conclusion from some of your previous posts which seemed to indicate a story rather than visual focus. No offense intended.
  11. Could be, my taste is based on how it looks not whether it would work in practice. I mean the classic Zentraedi hoof-foot armour design looks great but its hard to imagine a foot actually fitting in there.
  12. I could write a lot about why the DYRL designs (except the DYRL Nousjadeul-Ger) look inferior to the classic shapely designs but its a matter of taste. And there's no accounting for the common taste seemingly. As to the stormtroopers, do you really think the classic curvey deaths-head stormtrooper helmet is the same as the ubiquitous squarish First Order I-could-have-come-from-any marvel/image throwaway paramilitary look? Seriously? But I get the distinct impression that mecha/armour design is actually not consequential for you.
  13. That would be a downgrade not an upgrade. Comparable to remaking the classic Star Wars trilogy with First Order stormtroopers.

Great. I'm keeping an eye out for the Nousjadeul-Ger and Phallanx.
  15. And lots of new scenes. If I cant get a Zentradi focused series then give me this. But not if the Zentradi and their armour all turn green.
  16. Would that be a bad thing? I'm not really a Gundam fan but some of the skirmishes and space battles I've seen in (for example Gundam 00) were absolutely beautiful. Why not up the eye candy in Macross?
  17. I get your points. However what I mean is why not give the Earth humans a break and give Zentradi a chance to be the main protagonists. I'm thinking something like a Republic Commando/Roughnecks Chronicles/Clone Wars/Imperial Military personnel type story where we follow a Zentraedi battlegroup in its campaigns. If we absolutely must have humans then it could a friendly Zentradi faction with an attached Valkyrie squadron (a reverse Pixie squadron if you will) scouting ahead for a human exploration fleet or something. The Zentraedi (in fact most aliens depicted in fiction) are close to human enough that we can identify with them. In fact its even easier to identify with them due to the general lack of unwanted/controversial social/pc issue baggage that makes it so hard to like humans. Now I know this is a very unlikely premise, but it certainly would be a change of pace. (As to Star Wars, well the Galactic Empire/Clone armies never got old for me and never will. What did get old was Rebels-must-always-win schlep where X-wings blow up Star Destroyers and virtually all the Imperial officers other than Thrawn are incompetent.)
  18. But (essentially) the same protagonist over and over doesn't?

Looks like you need a landing craft to deploy all those regults. AB-SO-LUTELY.
  20. The truly awesome thing in Macross for me has never been the transforming fighters. Its the alien-invasion-cycle-type concept of a warmachine of innumerable genetically engineered giant soldiers with really interesting ship and mecha designs. So what I'm trying to say is that Macross needs somehow to return to that level of sci-fi awesomeness, and not descend further into the meh depths of just-another-nondescript-anime that Delta took us too. Doing that in the Walkure/Windermere tarnished Brisingr Globular Cluster (terrible name) is going to need something unique/creative.
  21. Part of the thing that concerned me when Delta was coming was that it was mainly going to be confined to a single planet. I prefer a large cosmic canvass. I guess it could work if there are some interesting alien races and locales there.

    Macross figures

Here's hoping we still get that SDFM Breetai that was teased.
  23. "...comic book readers and also civilians." Comic book readers are now a branch of the military?
