    Lol. If you mean me then they would have failed even more stupendously than they actually have. If I was the target audience I 'd want the following changes: 1) Scrap this story. Make it all about the Zentraedi battling the Invid. 2) Replace the writer/s with Dan Abnet. Have the Zentraedi commanders actually use the experience they should have gained to utilise decent " spacewar tactics." 3) Make it entirely painted by Sergio Quijada, or an artist of equal calibre (there are a great many fantastic artists out there). 4) Use the classic designs with some DYRL mecha thrown in. 5) Have massive ground battles and fleet engagements. Lots of beauty shots of the mecha and armour etc. Or else don't bother.

    But being Robotech is not the real reason its bad. The reason its bad is that its not even aimed at the existing Robotech fans, but is instead just another totally warped and unnecessary reboot for Ztards.

    You said it. I remember trying to watch Gatchaman Crowds and being unable to stomache it. A lot (sometimes insane amount) of detail went into the artwork in some of those shows in 80s. Paul "Otaking" Johnson said as much in one of his youtube videos. If you havent already you should check out his short animated TIE fighter and Dr. Who films on youtube.

    I am living proof of said debunking. My childhood play was nothing but endless glorious battles throughout time and across the omniverse... yet I am not a mass muderer/serial killer as an adult. Hmm.

    How do they reason thusly? Do anime shows involve mind control via subliminal messages? I despise such flawed reasoning where no-one is accountable for their own choices. Whatever happened to people being raised properly i.e. instilled with discipline and proper societal values in the home, and being thereby able to resist negative external influences? "Raise the child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." I guess no-one should watch Disney cartoons either because they are so violent, lol.

    Hmm. Another glaring Delta flaw highlighted. Hopefully more mecha variety next time.

    Not if the shows don't contain what we want. I'm sure that's always the goal, its just a pity that the potential for Macross to be awesome sci-fi is being lost. Its becoming just another anime.

    And you are not even mentioning that the the First Order needed a derivative of Deathstar Technology to get through a wall in TLJ, when a single high powered blast from an AT-AT's heavy blaster cannons could obliterate a Kuat Drive Yards DSS-02 shield generator in ESB.

    Originally it was intended to be Wookies in that battle, and Endor was meant to be Kashyyk. This would have been a lot more convincing IMO. Walkure is German for Valkyrie. To me all the singers in Macross are annoying, with the exception of the Marduk Emulators.

    It depends on the formula. The thing that makes people unanimously love an "The Empire Strikes Back" or unanimously hate a "Skyline". Its not impossible to make a show with universal appeal if they care to do so.

    As bad as Delta was, it wasn't as revoltingly bad as the TLJ. But its sad when the message "we don't like what you did with the beloved franchise" gets interpreted to mean "we don't like the franchise anymore".

    None taken. Those were the best but I did enjoy Macross 2, Zero and Macross Frontier. Very much enjoyed Frontier. Simply put I'm a fan of alien invasion cycle sci-fi, so my interest increases or decreases to the extent that the aliens and the battles get focus. I get the impression that its now going to just be about idols with Valkyries thrown in.

    Yes we do. I've heard this "they don't sell well" thing all the time. But what exactly is it that does not sell, when and where? Is this not referring to ye olde kits made back in the day, rather than the actual current HMR?

    "There's something in those trees..." Momaw Nadon and Jungle Hunter Predator. Hopefully City Hunter Predator will arrive soon (and Hot Toys will eventually release Tessek and Ackbar)

    They utterly mutilated and/or disregarded the classic SDFM Zentraedi armour. Further examples of this comic's utter putridness are, IMO, as necessary as bayonetting a pile of ashes to make certain its truly dead.
