  1. Hmmm... I never bothered to consider that obscure human mecha ....I guess not then. But the Zentradi soldier heights were pretty much consistent if I recall. This size relation makes much better sense to me than what we see in HMR and those crazy official stats.
  2. Gasp! Leftist brainwashing! We all loved the show as kids because of the Thunderfighter, Twiki and Hawk - and Hawk's fighter. Pretty much little else of note in it... I mean Tigerman...seriously? And the Draconians were Klingon level embarrassing, not fit to shine a Cylon Centurion's boot.
  3. The official stats are an absolute joke and contradict the SDFM anime to the level of absurdity. The fact is that in SDFM a Zentradi soldier and a Battroid are on the same scale, and the Regult/Glaug is MUCH bigger. You are absolutely right about the HMR line, funny how there's never comment about the Regult being too small next the terribly over sized battroid.
  4. While 50's sci-fi is mainly not what I read, I sure do listen to a lot of it. (Particularly because its free. And you can do stuff on your pc / with your kits while listening) (Colouring of awesome Leo Matos pencils while listening to Foundation audio drama) One thing I like about it is (what comes across to me as) the general wholesomeness of the cultural values at the time.
  5. Tried some Foundation but you quickly realise its a 50's series. Not a bad thing - just got a little confused by the awe given to atomics until I checked the publication date.
  6. A result of my nuturing no doubt. I also love wildlife docs - but not those about herbivores grazing obviously. Even so there is still way too much material given the limited resources we all have ito time and money. You have to focus on what you are passionate about. As for a reading list, some books i would recommend: . Magician (Feist) . The Belgariad (Eddings) . The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant (Donalson) . The War for Eternity (Rowley) . The Blackship (Rowley) . Starhammer (Rowley) . The Vang the Military form (Rowley) . Consider Phlebas (Banks) . Startide Rising (Brin) . Who Goes There (Campbell) . The War of the Worlds (Wells) . The World War series (Turtledove) . The Reality Dysfunction (Hamilton) . Earthsea (Le Guin) . Harpist in the Wind (McKillip)
  7. No, I just wont read or watch anything that doesnt contain sufficient quantities of militaristic conflict. I pretty much avoid female authors completely now - after many disappointing reads - even when they write battles the focus is all wrong. Its as if they dont glory indestruction.
  8. You say that as if it were a bad thing but in sci-fi/fantasy that's the ONLY thing. there's no chance for peace, love, or understanding in the universe Well if you werent bored to tears by say ...Star Trek's endless encounters with peacenik wrinkled nose aliens then I dont know. Peace, love and ubderstanding is fine in reality, but its not very entertaining.
  9. About 60 cm? That's more like it. The Bandai kit I got was incredibly...compact.

    Hi-Metal R

But they wont release stuff for named Zentradi characters (Glaug Eldare, Queadluun-Rau etc) yet released grunt Valkyries.
  11. 100%. And someone also needs to give us Eldar (McFarlane toys mb?) and Protoss figures one day. Who wouldn't buy a quality Protoss Zealot? Or the beloved Protoss Scout?

That is also as it should be.

No release date for the Regult Scout?
  14. Well we never got the MAAS Bioroid, but the artist has posted the unused concept renders nevertheless. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/qArqn2

    Macross figures

No thanks. Still waiting for an decent Zentradi soldier fig to be made. A human sized one would be interesting ...
  16. I thought they were losing sales due to constantly trying to push an extreme leftist (get woke go broke) agenda that most fans (like me) are 100% against. Ah well, at least I'll always have Operation Galactic Storm and War of Kings.
  17. DYRL Nousjadeul-Ger and SDF Regult Scout would be better. Although I'd really like a Phalanx. Aaand another valkyrie...and another valkyrie...and another valkyrie..and another... Its gotten old.
  18. Again?? Damn. Just when there's some Kree-Skrull (and hopefully Shi'ar) action on the way, a Deja Thoris series and a Red Sonja and Purgatori crossover. :(
  19. Being too useless to field their own military also makes them less interesting as a faction. I always thought that it was meant to be the Southern Cross scientists who couldn't determine at first what they were, perhaps being confused by alien biomechanical enhancements. On the other hand them being androids may have been a propaganda line the SC high command wanted pushed. Clearly they were clones and the pilots had enhancements to enable them to interface with their Bioroids. I think Dana made the point that it would be redundant to have an (inorganic) machine piloting another machine.
  20. This is true. I don't find the Zentraedi, the Invid or the Tirolians (using Robotech terms/spelling here) boring at all. Aside from those aliens (if that's what they even were) from Skyline, there hasn't been a (humanoid) alienin any sci-fi franchise that I've encountered which wasn't really just a thinly disguised human. Their more like foreigners than actual aliens really .Even insectoid aliens are - to a certain extent - relatable as we have insects on Earth.
  21. It maybe, but its too much of a valkyrie analogue for my tastes. I prefer enemy mecha that are very different to the good guy stuff. Given that RT includes Southern Cross (Bioroids) and Mospaeda (Inbit Gurab, Gosu) and SDFM (Regults, Quaedluun etc) I surely dont agree. But forget Robotech. Theyre not as interesting as the Marduk, the Zentradi or the Vajra (pity the Vajra potential was wasted so quickly). Sure unexpected is fine, I just want to be overwhelmed rather than underwhelmed next time.
  22. Well if they had cool mecha, ships and troopers maybe. Pity they don't. Even their short lifespan is not a unique idea - Kamandi had that concept back in the 70's. Would be fascinating. They're a sideshow. All this would work for Gundam where they amp up the action and mecha focus, and its all just humans anyway. But this is Macross where I expect more.
  23. Tech manuals, toys, model kits from Dullta??? A series is only as good as its Bad Guys, and in this case its the insipid Windascreenmears.
  24. Thank God for this. Who wants to see the Zentraedi mangled by a live action movie adaption aimed at casual movie goers.
