  1. Basically whats already been said. I also find that Primers don't need to be heavily coated on th your parts. All it is really doing is giving the paint something to adhere to thats not the really smooth plastic. Typically with MR Surfacer you'll want to still be able to see the colour of the plastic shine through, so a red bit would appear slightly pink. Other than that practice etc. May be consider getting some old plastic toys to learn on. A car boot sale, jumble, or garage sale is a good place to find cheap expendable stuff.
  2. It's the apocalypse I tell you the end is nigh.
  3. Him, The SK, The creator , Kawamori san whatever you want to call him. I bet he's well stoked to see that one of his designs actually can fly.
  4. So is bad resin your Kryptonite then ?
  5. At least with a VF-1 you don't need to make special molds for different types except 2 seaters which isnt that big a difference. All the extra stuff is just bolt ons. What ever you make I'm sure it will be great.
  6. Maybe he knows where it came from and just maybe he's been here
  7. Simple answer then would be. Buy a big load of red paint and spray all the CF Valks that colour, no more exploding noobs and CF's and war over inside a weekend.
  8. Well two posts and he's done... Bye man !!
  9. IIRC a certain large transformable living quarters was mentioned.
  10. I really should have said light mist more than coat/layer. only really a problem If you are using Auto paints or modeling stuff. Other than that as Skull says sand especially where parts will rub, unless your like me and it will just sit in a display case not being played with. Best of all if you can get the same paint as Skull or Krylon you A. O.K

Thanks for that I will do just that. And to everyone else I will get to work on an installer and try it out at work to see if its Vista proof.
  12. Yeah thats a good idea.
  13. Thanks Jon. Just out of interest what is that box/table whatever that the bits are displayed on ?
  14. Yeah clean and sand is the really good advice make sure you get a good plastic primer as the paint can peel off a few months after painting otherwise. Clean your hands before handling too as the oils in your skin can affect the paint too. Best bet is to get yourself some of the disposable latex gloves as used by doctors in the hospitals etc. You can get a box of a 100 for a buck or two.

See it pays to have someone here with an ear at Lego's door so to speak I downloaded the relevant programs and files last night, not a bad little app. Spent about an hour looking for one brink in the inventory though, it's not a special brick I just can't find it. Although the example pictures of made "kits" have the brick so it does exist in cyberspace. I have about 30 of them in my Lego box. I was thinking of making an installer for the complete apps to help the less computer savvy users here at MW, anyone who want me too speak up.

  18. Well this thread has swelled since I last looked at it. It was one of the threads that I lost track of in the days when I didn't tick the email if replied option
  19. The only reason I wanted to have scans rather than the "originals" from Reprolables is that I wanted to do some custom work and just getting a set just to scan seems pointless. But I nobody is able to do so then Iwill bite the bullet so to speak.
  20. Total Product endorsement if ever you needed it. I too have heard good things about this brand.

The easy answer is go get the MLCAD program installed design your mech and buy all the parts from the Lego shop and then build it for real. At least Lego give you the option nowadays back in the 70's you could only get the bricks from the shop if you lived in Denmark, everyone else like me just had to buy kits that contained what you needed. Shame I didn't know my Ex then as she's Danish and had tons of the stuff as a kid. Looking through the old Lego catalog's with her was all "had that one and that one, had two of those, had that one...." when ever we were in Copenhagen she wouldn't let me near the Lego shop.

    VF-1A

I like it for the same reasons as Ashton, the use of a realistic base is also great.
  23. Two Im thinking a whole BaseStar full of em
  24. LOL We stand in the shadows of greatness. We come up with things they didn't every now and then. A scan of any Jetfire stickers would be great I have been after one for some time now as my sig suggests.
