Exactly I always thought the story was you build the kit as per the instructions. Then mod it and finally build something much better with all the bits you have in your Lego box. At least thats how it was for me in the 70's and 80's.

Rather than remake it they should add to it. it all got interesting in the last few episodes. Then in the last episode uncultured Zentradai turn up and someone rolls the credits. I want to know what happens next. The only certainty is Basra lives as he goes on to annoy the Space Whales later on. The only pre condition I ask for is more gritty and less fluffy singing storyline. More M0 and Frontier style story. Make people actualy care about the cast.

I know what you mean but everytime we have threads about Johns work someone usually asks what the quaility is like, so although you are very familiar with his work I was kinda pre-empting the likely questions. No offence was intended. If only proper line art existed then there would be now doubts. Nowadays its a no brainer as CGI and action figure rights demand acurate line art. The only guy here thats offering them as a repro part is SilverDragon. his work is good and not too expensive. I know he's been fairly busy with his new born for the last few months. It may be worth pinging him a PM. I have a full set of his Strike Armor for a n original Bandai that I may well part with (I have a spare), so if you get stuck just give me a pm or something. As far as TransRepro is concerned i was going to get some of their stuff a while ago.

I was doing something similar except that I managed to get the bases cut for me by the Cabinet makers that are next door to where I used to work. They were made out of scrap MDF that they had in the scrap bin that they give to the recyclers. they just band sawed them and then mitred them up for me at the same time. I just sanded them really smooth and them painted them. All in all FOC except fo the paint. I will return to them for some more I think. I used Plasticote Graphite as its shinny and looks nice. add some Acrylic rod and the Valk or plane etc looks great. I may well just do all mine like this to keep them looking like a set.

On the other hand you'll have loads of spares for your next project
