  1. I think our era is really the first one to get the buy it and keep it in the box thing really down. How many of you ever kept SW figures from the 70's and 80's either in box or in anything near mint. Back in the 80's there was this kid in my school who bought two of every SW figure he had one for playing and one for packing in a box for the future. Back then we though he was mad, now almost 30 years later he's the one with every SW figure mint in box and 99% of every Matchbox car ever made mint in box. Along with this and other similar collections he did while we went through school and college they are now housed in a purpose build extension at his house, that he built a few years ago. What I'm saying now is all those in Mint boxed Takas that fetch good money, will not be surpassed by Yammies in 20 years as everyone is well aware of the Mint in box potential of nearly everything nowadays. Still they wont be cheap as chips but your not gonna lose money on em.

Graham you know you are missing a thing there. You need to show the guys at Yamato that picture and tell them your son is up for being a quality control tester. That way you get the early-early bird on all the new releases, your son get the mechs he really wants and the Peeps at MW get properly QC'd Valks they all demand. Remember nobody tests a toy like a kid does.
  3. Ask and you get that's the beauty of this web site
  4. LOL I can here now all those unbuilt 1/72 Hase kits and 1/48 Yamies being readied for eBay
  5. Well IF it turns out to be good I would probably buy it just to be completist. I will just wait and see. Someone is bound to torrent it or postit in bits on Youtube so I can "try before I buy" With the exception of the Miniseries I watched all the episodes on T.V/torrent before I went out and got the DVD's at bargain basement prices in the closing down sales of our local media giant.
  6. Well the company I now work for prints things like membership cards and plastic Id's etc. The plastics are styrene or PVC usually and they use a sort of Dye Sublimation process. These printers can do A1 sheets they are huge. I have seen all shades done including whites and metalics and pearls printed. Very similar to a monster version of an Alps Printer that are used to make Decals by Anasai here at MW. Unfortunately although I work in the same building oposite the art department, I as of yet don't know anyone in the department. Although they do have lots of off cuts in 1-2mm Styrene that I am trying to get a few bits of. All off cuts get shreaded as part of the green recycling policy. At the very least I may be able to get some more plastic supplies Otherwise I may resort to making a decal sheet in black and white and transfering it to the finished article, if it works out.
  7. Im sure that others will ask too but I would like to give it a go although I may well try it in plastic and slightly bigger. I may even be able to get it printed on the plastic at work in the art department. If you would be interested in sharing your work that would be out standing.

I guess that some of us could say our kids are into it to allow us to buy more Macross stuff. You can get it by the other half just by saying its for junior. Although $100 for a macross toy for your kid to bury in the sand pit and play in the bath may be too much. Best stick to the boot legs and cheaper things.
  9. Eaither way you know we are all gonna buy it.
  10. The question this poses to me is what catagory to put my self in ?
  11. nicely done. Has he made custom hands too ?

  14. The yellow decals are rubish I usually end up painting them instead along with the blacks on Vf-1's. Great work there chap.
  15. So when are you gonna cast it so we cal all blow one up.
  16. Better watch out or Tim Westwood may come round to pimp your ride/Daedalus
  17. I noticed that I have that same F-14 kit now if someone wants to send a scan of the macross decals I also have the MiG 29 kit that they used too.
  18. Are'nt they part of the Nav/targeting systems, the Vf-19 has those red bits on the nose etc. IIRC I remember some one here saying as much
  19. Well I will set my Generic televisual Recorder to record just to see how it fairs to the old stuff.
  20. And Why did Hasbro Takara not think to do this straight out of the factory ??? Instead they give you freak mode Bumblebee.
  21. Simple 1984/5 in a model shop in town, just after seeing the first episode of Robotech. Then came TF's and the deal was sealed.
  22. Excellent work there shame nobody ever did these as production, I'd Love to see this as a model kit.
  23. Well done there old chap. The Bandai Vf-17 suffered the same as the Vf-1 so the mod is well needed IMO
