  1. Something I have noticed over the past few Bandai pre-orders, are that PO prices have been trickling upwards. And I don't mean the base price by Bandai, but by the online stores themselves. It used to be that on PO day, the prices are usually MSRP less Japan domestic consumption tax, plus some discount (the PO cherry!) on top. So taking this VF-1J + Armor bundle pack as example, it could have been MSRP Yen 33k, less 10% Yen 3k domestic tax, and perhaps another Yen 1k-2k for PO price of below Yen 30k. PO prices then went up such that it landed somewhere between the no tax & 10% domestic tax zone. Amiami is still maintaining this with the current bundled pack PO , but most other stores are now charging the full fat tax-included MSRP. Only CDJ do not charge this 10% domestic tax, & somewhat unfortunately it has been almost impossible to score a PO anything from CDJ these days. Anyway, its just an observation..
  2. Its the mythical unicorn.. the 'reservation' button only lights up for couple seconds. Place must be swamped by bots given how fast it sells out every single time.
  3. Great find! It seems the chest missiles slide forward when the bays are opened, a very nice touch. As I understand, Yamato's 1/48 GBP also has the same gimmick, but eschewed in later 1/60 versions..
  4. First time seeing a VFX-X 'premium finished', and it looks swell. That underside shot well captures the sleek look..
  5. Wow sold out at Tamashii already. Most likely there'll be a second run then. Including a separate grey goggled head was a great idea; no doubt more people have bought this armor since it can now be pretty much put onto any other DX VF-1 valk..
  6. Now I have to move my 1/100 A-10 to the Macross HMR shelf, and get another A-10 for the real-life jets shelf.. More excuse for doubles!
  7. Just realized this would be the most articulated Armored VF-1 ever, just by the DX's new hip joints (are they called drawer joints?). Always felt this was the single biggest improvement to the VF-1 toys that allows more action figure-like posing.. On related thought, we have had non-transforming VF-1 figures over the years, and I think many would be a bit put off by the non-transforming aspect. But if there is a case to be made for non-transforming VF-1 figure, it would be the Armored VF-1 for obvious reason, yet none seem have been made so far.. I would get an army of them if they did haha..
  8. The armor looks good! So much more tampo & markings, that I think is a nice change as opposed to years of Yamcadia’s almost barebones plastic.. But let’s see what Bandai will screw up compared to versions that came before. It’s always 2 steps forward, 1 step back for Bandai lol..
  9. Nice find @EastwindS2k.. Its just these little details tying Macross to real world jets that always make me geek out..
  10. Just sharing a recent un-boxing. Got this NewAge movie DotM Soundwave when it was released last year, but only now am messing with it.. Always liked the Mercedes Benz SLS-AMG model. The silver paint here is pretty good, there's a nice consistent sheen to it. Wheels are chrome, with painted red calipers. Love that the gullwing doors are functional here. Headlight & rear lamp details aren't so good though, rather cheap looking and lacking detail. In fact, these are the only parts I do not like, especially when compared to the excellent paint and detailing found everywhere else. Soundwave comes with nice little movie Ravage & Laserbeak. The plastics and articulation on both of them are pretty good. I forgot to install Ravage's twin guns on his back when taking this pic though.. Movie-verse designs aren't many people's cup of tea, but I love what NewAge have done here in terms of movie accuracy, built quality and paint finish. Nice gold accents, chrome parts and miscellaneous paint in the mechanical areas only visible in bot mode, and complements the silver body paint. Just, as noted earlier, the rear lamps (on his knees here) are pretty crappy and jarring in its lack of detail.. I love how clean the back is, and there's more chrome here on some of the larger mechanical details.. This toy holds its poses quite well, given how complex the transformation is, especially the legs. But everything tabs together nicely and key limb joints are sufficiently tight.. Final shot. Including this only because the wheels on his back somehow reminds me of VTOL fans..
  11. Excited for SV-51 Nora, but also need a wallet-explode gif..
  12. I'm thinking, Macross toy collectors know to look to Japanese stores to import Macross items, but not so much the more casual fans. Toys being officially available at worldwide stores would capture more attention & take-up from the rest of the fans, and hopefully this increased demand will finally compel Bandai to complete that longggggg-paused HMR Macross line.
  13. Whether it is bundled with VF-1J or a standalone armor pack, we are all gonna buy it and Bandai knows this I had really hoped the next announcement would be the YF-21 instead of more VF-1 stuff.. but if the recent BW-HG deal means a bit more time needed to work out a worldwide release of this YF-21, then all the better.
  14. Nice shots.. VF-1A with sniper look vaguely familiar.. Then I recall the VF-25G has it too..
  15. Just saved this as current BG on my PC haha..
