  1. That's a great display @sqidd I like how each toy is spaced out a bit to give it room to breath, it makes everything look cleaner. But once space for display cases runs out in the room, it'll be some dilemma: to start squeezing more toys in the cases and hence sacrificing the overall clean look, or maintain great discipline and periodically rotate the toys out with others in storage?
  2. Yup, ordered direct. Although, the packaging was a bit scary, because the pizza-like box used to house the set of shelves was a bit too large, and look to collapse rather easily if any other parcel sits on top of it in transit. There was no outer shipping box, the item box itself came wrapped only in clear plastic film. It’s kinda ironic since they specialise in making tough cases for transporting toy figures. Still, the shelves itself survived the trip without any issues. If I were to order again, I would add in a remark requesting robust packaging, perhaps add bubble wrap outside the box, and inside the box to fill up the empty spaces. One of the metal mounts arrived bent & defective. I contacted them and they sent replacements right away, so no complains there on after-sales.
  3. One of the common Detolf mods are using cable clamps on the posts, as height adjustable mounts for the glass to rest on. Couple of pics pulled randomly from net below to illustrate: The cable clamp Clamps applied on posts, with glass shelf resting on the clamps at all corners. What I was concerned with for this method, was that the glass shelf now rests on 4 very small footprints, so the glass corners become high stress points. Then one day I happen to come across adjustable height, purpose-built Detolf acrylic shelves from a Polish supplier: https://shop.army-case.com/product/a-space-additional-shelves-for-detolf-ikeas-glass-door-cabinet/ I ordered couple of sets, and so far I've had time to fix a shelf (pictured below, on the top shelf). The shelf may look a bit out of place compared to the default shelves, but they are sturdy and works well. In the web site, it says the shelf is rated to hold up to 12kg (!), though I've never tested it myself. I just want these shelves to use up the vertical space in the Detolfs, especially if the toys are in fighter mode.
  4. The XB-70 looks swell @spanner I really like the cantered wings; obviously this was where the YF-21 got it from. The YF-21 really is an amalgam of experimental aircrafts features of its day - the body of the YF-23, the wings of the XB-70 Valkyrie, the 3D trust vectoring feature? And that it transforms into a Queadluun-Rau inspired design is just amazing!
  5. I received mine from NY, and sure enough, it has 2 left ankles. I contacted NY about it, and also linked Arcadia's tweet on the issue. They got back to me and basically said I could either send it back for a new replacement, or wait for Arcadia to supply them the replacement parts and in turn send them to me. For either of the options, all shipping to be paid by me, so naturally I chose the latter. This was 2 weeks ago. Today I got an update from them that the replacement parts are in, and I am not sure if its a typo, but they gave me till 25 Dec on choosing to ship. All in, quite relieved that I will be able to get this resolved with NY. But really, depending on how complicated it is to replace the parts, I might just leave it. It doesn't really affect articulation or anything, just a slightly off-centered foot in fighter mode if one look hard directly from the top.
  6. What was the issue you were having with your copy? So far all the armor parts fit well on mine, perhaps the bicep pieces could be a bit tighter as they tend to unclasp easily. On the Re:Edits, I was fiddling with them again recently, and was a bit miffed a couple of them have had their thigh joints being loose just from standing on the shelf for a few months. Same symptoms as the Bandai 1/60 Frontier renewal toys.
  7. I have Yammie's 1/48 25th Anniversary, so I had the same question whilst contemplating getting KC's Dark Gold. I glad I got KC's in the end, because the paint on this is way better.
  8. Been hunting down this figure for quite some time. Always wanted an unmasked Tony to complement the rest of Sentinel's Re:Edit Iron Man range. The die cast armor suit-up parts was a pleasant surprise as I probably missed that bit in others' reviews, and gave the whole figure a satisfying heft. The paint seem a notch above the Re:Edit line, as the deep candy red lacquer look to have an extra layer of gloss. My only gripe is that the crotch armor is not a continuous piece from front to back, and broken up between the thighs.
  9. I just received the KC VF-1S Dark Gold today. Absolutely the biggest thing I like about it are the paint apps. Even on a black base, the golds, tampos and panel lines stood out, and looks much better in flesh than in pics.

    Hi-Metal R

It’s available again at NY, same price 9,180yen, but have to pay upfront now. Still the best deal by far though.
  11. Agreed.. Nice one @Slave IV! Also happen to think the VF-1 has the best looking gerwalk mode of all valks.
  12. Great poses! The white parts may look a bit plain, but the brilliant cobalt blue & detailed tampos more than makes up for it.
  13. Shots like these are inspiration to keep collecting valks!
  14. Great pics!! As I'm looking at my Yamcadia 1/60s, although the TV VF-1A's may look a bit plain with lots of white, overall it shows off the sleek fighter silhouette a bit more than the DYRL VF-1 valks, from the way the lines flow from nosecone, over the cockpit and to the back until the tail.
  15. Fewture’s implementation certainly looks impressive, and there’s appears to be very nice detailing on the joints & stuff that are only seen during transformation process, for e.g the inwards of front wheels. The transformation has quite a few differences with Arcadia’s; shoulders seem to come together very solidly.
  16. Sci-Fi 03 re-issues just sold out on Fext Hobby's site.
  17. Loving this Fext Hobby's Sci-Fi 03 diorama, big shout out to @Saburo for having a hand in designing it. It's a bit pricey with shipping, but am now convinced to get another.
  18. VF-31s Armored Battroid mode looks the best. Fighter mode, on other hand, looks just a flying rock with a nosecone.
  19. Thanks @Slave IV I’m no photog, was just messing around with phone app filters. But Fext Hobby’s Sci-Fi 03 clear panels does a great job not only in diffusing the light, but somehow gives a multi-layered effect as well. Your pic of Amazing Yamaguchi Deathstroke reminded me to look for this figure again. I really love this line as well!
  20. As Bandai's been dragging their feet to release the HMR Tomahawk, I went ahead to purchase Yamato's 1/60 Tomahawk instead. Based on jenius's review, it has that loose ankles and even looser waist joint, so extreme poses will be a challenge, but overall I'm quite loving the figure as a chunky, 80's mech design. The included ground crew figures were also a nice touch, as they give a nice sense of scale to the Tomahawk.
  21. Mine just shipped from NY yesterday. I was hoping them being really slow to ship out this time meant they could somehow be responding to Arcadia's recall message couple of days back, but no. What a bummer..
  22. Arcadia's 1/24 Proto Garland up for pre-orders, to be released in Nov 2019: https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?gcode=FIGURE-051109 http://www.anime-export.com/product/44848
  23. @Slave IV @sh9000 @vlenhoff Thanks! I never watched any of the new Thunderbirds series, just a few short clips on Youtube. But the clip that sold me on this kit was: @borgified We'll definitely recognize elements of various Macross valkyries and Kawamori's other aircraft designs in this Thunderbird S. I like how he integrates that car spoiler-like wing at the back, which is probably the only link to the other Thunderbird vehicles ( the Thunderbird 2!) design wise. Just like the ASF-X plane he designed for Ace Combat, his aircrafts somehow has flight believability. Can't really put a finger to this as a casual observer; perhaps it has the right wing to body ratio or proportions, if there is such a thing. One feature I wish this kit have are articulated landing gears. Instead of conventional aircraft landing gears in its design, this bird apparently has a couple of retractable feet with clawed gears, just like an eagle, and allows it to grip and land on any type of surfaces.
