    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

No, just that this display model/prototype is a repaint of the previously-released VF-19 Advance, or at least looks like it. Nothing about the final product has been confirmed yet, not even that it's actually coming out. But it's coming out. What I'm skeptical of is if it'll actually have all of those warheads. I'm betting that the final tally will be half what's shown.
  2. Last I heard this would be part one, where Thanos collects the stones, and part two would be the war. Anyone can confirm any of that?
  3. This doesn't have to do with the toy per se, but just a PSA. I paid for my re-issued Hasegawa VF-19EF/A (aka the VF-19 Advance) model kit at HLJ. It (and the also limited-edition VT/VE-1 kits) are still available there and at Amiami, so if you want to get any of those, better hop to it.
  4. Just paid for my VF-19EF/A at HLJ. It's still in stock there (as well as the VE/VT-1), and Amiami are still taking preorders. So if you want yours, now's the time to get it.
  5. This is a really petty and minor complaint, but the whole "X character sees a Gundam's face on a monitor and mutters, 'Gundam...'" shtick makes me want to pull my hair out, and it plays a significant role in why I can't stand this franchise. The definition of a Gundam changes from show to show, from universe to universe, and yet without fail, someone will see the V-fin or the face on a monitor and immediately know the name. Like how!? Why!? Gundam Wing's Gundams are defined by their mother duckin' armor material, how could you POSSIBLY know what is or isn't a Gundam without shooting it first? Gundam Seed's Gundams are just operating systems! It's a bit more understandable in the Universal Century because surely the Gundam's image has a lasting legacy, but even Gundams that bear not the slightest resemblance to the original - the GP02A, the Zeta, ZZ, the Nu and Hi-Nu - people will see that stupid V-fin and swoon, whispering, "Gundam..." under their breath. And they'll look at other things with V-fins and faces like the Zeta Pluses, the Deltas, and they know, they just know, to not be scared of those. Because reasons. Like, in Macross this isn't a problem. The Valkyrie refers strictly to the VF-1, but characters and fans alike have used the name as an umbrella term since, and it's fine because it consistently means the same thing - a Fighter/Gerwalk/Battroid transformer. The only such consistency with Gundam is a meta-aesthetic (and even then it's been shirked plenty of times, as in the case of the Ez8, Turn-A, et al.), and Gundam canons want simultaneously to contrive alternate reasons for the term existing in a particular universe and inject the Gundam meta-aesthetic into said universe.
  6. Didn't DC/WB explicitly say the movie and TV universes would be separate? (To that: WHYYYYY THOOOOO THAT'S SO DUMMMMBBBB)
  7. I wonder if it wouldn't have been more successful (storywise, not in terms of merchandising, god no, this show sold gangbusters) if it'd been an original show altogether. Nothing takes me out of a Gundam show more than the way characters react to the Gundam.
  8. Yeah, this seems to be the consensus. I stopped midway into season 1 - for trying to do some things different, the show didn't do enough different - but I've read up on the season 2 ending and I'm overall more positive than negative about the direction they went with it.
  9. Hey, just plugging my FS thread again. I won a lot that had some stuff I wanted, and other stuff I didn't. tl;dr - MG Ground Gundam, HG Harute, HG Gadessa, HG Zedas http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/45148-spare-gundam-kits/ @dero Does the Astray come with the older style thumb/trigger finger/three finger hands? Or are those fully articulated? Or even better, fixed pose? I like what you did, and the stickers look really good, all things considered. I guess that soak in the water didn't harm them very much.
  10. Hey, I was wondering: Do you happen to know or otherwise have any insight into how one method costs compared to the other? Like would it cost relatively the same to 3D print a set of parts (either yourself or through Shapeways) as to cast resin kits? Last time I had this discussion, the group I was in determined that the costs of materials/production/etc. still favored resin casting over printing, but I think that was well over five years ago that that conversation took place.
  11. Not exactly anime, but I'm catching up on the past two seasons of BoJack Horseman, and... a few episodes ago, BoJack visits and ultimately takes care of his ailing, dementia-afflicted mother, and the messy relationship they have hits a bit too close to home. This show, man. I don't know. Sometimes I want to burn it to the ground, and yet here we are, four seasons later.
  12. Articulation would be nice but, now that NZEOD mentions it, not necessary. One could simply print two copies and build one closed, the other open if they were really so inclined. The Bandai/Hasegawa kits' mounting mechanisms might be slightly but significantly enough different from the DX toy to make attaching a problem, but I doubt it would present any major problems. And assuming the proportion scales properly, fitment shouldn't be a problem, either. Even if it is, again, it wouldn't present that much of a problem.

    Bandai DX VF-31

It's from a MG Gundam kit. Forget which one atm (guessing one of the Astrays or the Duel Gundam), but it'll probably be a tiny bit too small to hold in the hand.
  14. "Childish" and "silly" are two different things... And all Gundam are targeted at children, even something ostensibly serious like Unicorn. I'd say G Gundam's reputation has ONLY improved with age. I certainly like it far more than I did fifteen years ago. EDIT: That said, I still haven't seen M7 yet, so the comparison might still be apt.
  15. Ah, I see. By the by, the $349 deal I only saw at Gamestop and Walmart. Apparently there's this $399 bundle on Ebay that nets you Battlefront 2 and FF15 as well. I came across it just now confirming the Gamestop/Walmart deals. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Playstation-4-Pro-1TB-Console-Star-War-Battle-Front-2-Final-Fantasy-XV/382277434643
  16. D'oh! Well, glad to have been corrected. EDIT: Oh, also I see the question was already answered a week ago. Should have skimmed better. >.<
  17. Really neat work, as always. Some questions: - Scale? - Where/when are those variants seen? From left to right, I'm assuming... Frontier (show), Frontier (show), Delta, Delta workroid, and... different Delta workroid? - How easy would this be to convert to a Zero-era Cheyenne? I want to say I've asked you this before during the workroid WIP, but I don't remember doing so... Either way, keep up the always fantastic work.
  18. With the PS4, Sony mimicked Microsoft and made online play require a paid subscription. On PS3, online access and online play was entirely free. It's not tied to the game specifically, but to the console. The controversy with the game has to do with its loot boxes, which are given to you at extremely low rates (think along the lines of 1 loot box every 2 days, or probably worse) but can be acquired en masse at once by paying real money. The loot box "rewards" sometimes contain in-game credits, which can be used to purchase and upgrade Star Cards, which in turn greatly affect gameplay (by, say, reducing a pistol's cooldown time from 4 seconds to 2 seconds). You said you got a PS4 Pro? Are you sure they're not selling the original/slim PS4 for that $100 discount? That sounds in line with what I've seen other retailers doing: - Original PS4 + extras for $199 - PS4 Pro (by itself or + extras) for $349 I believe the base PS4 is $299 retail, and the PS4 Pro is $399 retail.
  19. This seems like the most applicable thread to post this update. It's about the ongoing Robotech/Battletech lawsuit, not anything to do directly with the Tatsunoko case which has already been arbitrated, nor does it have anything to do directly with Big West. tl;dr - Piranha Games has filed a motion to dismiss HG's case against them owing to the results of arbitration from the HG vs. Tatsunoko case. 1:30 for HG's litigation history. 4:05 for most recent update.
  20. What's the order of these new Wolfenstein games? The New Colossus is obviously the latest in the series, but between - The Old Blood - The New Order which is the reboot of the franchise and which is the sequel(? midquel? prequel?) to the reboot of the franchise? No, just the original. Much as I wanted, I couldn't justify splurging on 4.1 without knowing if I'd like it or not.
  21. Chogokin Mazinkaiser on sale for 16,200 yen @ Banzai Hobby. Might not be available, but you can give it a shot if you want it. http://banzaihobby.com/Bandai-4549660158349
