I know that there is a pinned thread for "what's wrong with..." but I thought this was different. Not that I'm begging for parts or anything... I'm just wondering if anybody has suffered a casualty among the 1/55 re-issues yet. We all heard the stories of the yammie 11b and it's detachable leg. Has anybody managed to rip the leg off their 1/55? Have an arm come off in their hands? Anybody come home to find their dog chewing happily on their 1j? Notice your nephew/younger brother holding the tail assembly in one hand and the valk in the other? Break the head off your cannon fodder while playing catch? Back over it with the car [while your nephew was holding it]? I know there was an earthquake not to long ago... anybody have a book-case land on a re-issue super? Accidently shoot your max while cleaning your gun? Anything? Anybody? As I can't remember anybody posting about broken bandais I'll also ask if anyone's re-issue has survived some horrible trauma unbroken just so this gets more posts . Ie there was an earthquake and it survived a bookcase landing on it or your nephew beat your niece unconcios with one and it didn't break. That kinda thing. good vibes for cats in recovering from surgery everyone... if you don't mind

no pics of robs 1/48 vf-1s head? I wish I had that nice of a display greenguy... [as I shudder at the thought of closet O' spawn]. The sad thing is I had the valk, I have a dremmel, I just didn't have the motivation . Nice to see it being loved and well taken care of. Also nice to know that now it will go into it's super box a lot quicker

smaller size was the 1/76. I thought it was plastic though. It felt like plastic. I had one and was less than impressed with it. The only cool feature was the head would flip foward and the pilot seat could be raised out of the neck. Wouldn't stand up worth a damn. I returned it to ebay from which it came. It was a 1j. I've got pics of it, boxed 1/76, and the 1/55 if you need them.

I've got one of 'em and I think it's very cool. Actually a green Joons was my 1st valk, so It hold a special place in my heart I'm thinking that the green joons is kinda rare myself, seeing as it's the only one I still need . I even have an empty joons box just waiting for the one I know somebody around here is gonna trade me . I've seen a few on ebay and they seem to average around $30 but they don't come up that often. Last time one came up I told my wife to up the bid on the joons... naturally I forgot I was bidding on two so I ended up with a second patriot

I remember when I went to the air and space back in the late eighties they had the most awsome model of an aircraft carrier I had ever seen. It had to be over 4' long and you could see all the details in the hanger decks. Truely awsome. Is it still there? is there a sr-71 still on the intrepid? did somebody need shuttle pics? I have family who worked for nasa. Heck... I've got a piece of the challenger in my display case

nice work shan. The nice thing about a chunky custom is that it retains it's ability to bash things without breaking. Hasn't anyone heard of playing "valksies"? It's like knivesies but rather than knives you wing the valk of you choice as hard as you can at your opponent until one of you has to go to the hospital. Using a jetfire [my preffered choice] is fine but filling the hollow areas with lead is not Does the 1/48 head transform as well as the regular or do you have to "finess" it? I know I had to rig a removable head for my violator custom but my exo-skelaton with manga head works fina as long as I rotate the head. I had one of those heads and was thinking of doing the head mod myself but greenguy had a 1/48 and really wanted the head... which reminds me... he never showed pics like he promised

This isn't really a "Whats wrong" post but does go with repairs. I am wondering if anybody knows of a good/easy way to get replacement 1/55 parts? I started off by getting partial jetfires off ebay. Now I have a bunch of partials in various stages of pathetic ranging from missing tail assembly to mising arms to nothing but nose and legs. Parts from joon's just don't feel right and they aren't cheap enough to suit me for donor parts. I could loot parts from re-issues but I hate destroying functional toys for parts and again I am to cheap. The tail assemblies and arms from the all plastic chinese bootlegs will work but I really don't like the feel or quality of the plastic. I did use the chinese parts to refurb two future spawn customs but I would prefer to use bandai parts for structural strength [something I need for my customs mwa ha ha]. Right now I need two back plates [outer], 2 back plates [inner], 1 tail assembly, and two arms [one left and one right] to complete my 5 least pathetic. ANy ideas? I don't suppose bandai offers part replacements?

don't forget that while it is now packaged in fighter mode the directions still start you off in battroid which can be just a little confusing... at least it was to me.

I didn't know that the cannon fodder didn't support fast packs?!?!? Imagine my suprise learning this fact as I have a cannon I got from opus that is sporting fast packs! I just assumed he swapped valks and that was it. Please forgive my ignorance but aside from the 19a and the 21 I only transformed one yammie 1/60 once before I traded it. What can I say... I'm a 1/55 lover. 1/60 I have a strike, this cannon super, and a max. The really funny part is the max is the one I transformed once and traded... It found its way back to me LOL. Now I have to go get the cannon and actually remove it from the box.... well... It's in a yammie vf-1j super box and fits correctly... The insert came out of the box just fine... Do all yammies have a small pile of hands/assorted small bits extra? Never mind... Looking at the directions I assume the extra bits are normal. Fast pack boosters were not attached but simply lying on valk... Leg armor fits fine and legs stay in place but arms look lower than on my 1/55 when fitted properly... Is this normal? Oh wait... I am supposed to use the pegs on the armor, not on the arms... ..... .... ..... ..... ..... stupid detachable legs! .... ..... ...... uhm..... drops leg again..... .... drops box and spends a few minutes gatering up bits... .... curses at directions repeatedly.... ...... uhm... curses repeatedly at directions in a foriegn language and goes and gets strike from other room. ... opens strike... ... D'oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks like you need to either swap tail assemblies or modify the existing one to get boosters to mount as it appears that there are holes present in the tail assembly of the strike that are not present on the cannon I have. The leg armor and arm armor seem to fit just fine without mods, though I keep dropping the friggin leg! .... spends way to long getting the cannon back into strike box while cursing... ... conclusion... IE things I found out... You will need to modify the tail assembly at a minimum... I sooooo love my 1/55's Yammies have detachable legs I sooooo love my 1/55's hippies spend much time looking for non-attached parts that fall off. I would rather work on my spawn-macross customs than do this. Anybody want to trade a bandai super [or jetfire] for an unmodified cannon in a super box with armor???

I thought only the very early jetfires, aka matsushiro, were rhumored to come with missiles. I know the later ones don't as I have two in box, not counting the matsu I found a box for which doesn't count. I know the one I got as a kid sure didn't have missles. The jetfire gun that vermillion one sent me with the matsu did fire while the few others I had lying around didn't appear to have springs. I guess I could pull out all 10 jetfires and check all the guns I have but that seems like work . I'll try and do that tomorrow. One of these days I'll get around to setting up my website of useless 1/55 data and this would be good info for it. This auction does give me some ideas though which I will keep to myself

dunno where I fall in this so I haven't voted. The voices in my head tell me I have a good imagination but I don't fly my valks around the house or do mock battles. Unlike many here I am in the posistion to actually hold mock battle. Up until recently people who saw part of my collection kept on telling me to recreate the attack on the "daedulus". If I knew what they were talking about it might have happened before I sold half my army. I have numerous vices, and a wife, that keep my kands occupied so the need to manipulate something in my hands usually gets resolved fairly quickly. Most of my stuff sits safe from my cats in boxes. on the other hand... most of the stuff now safe in boxes was loose. I have a number of valks that haven't made it into a box yet for a variety of reason ranging from lack of boxes to lack of arms so why put it in a box. My "playing" normally consists of swapping parts around to get one valk in good shape from how-ever many parts valks it takes. SOme have gone through repeated upgrades as parts became availible. I happily spend hours tinkering with them in an attempt to restore them to their former glory. What can I say... I like fixing things. Other than fixing stuff and swapping parts around I spend a lot of time holding my toys while going through my bits boxes and thinking. I don't know if others would consider it playing as I compare bit after bit next to the toy I am holding. I guess maybe "mock battles" as many a spawn figure is left dismembered and abused after I loot parts for my next custom. Custom spawn officers pod anyone??? It's in the works . I assume painting isn't playing either. Silly poses for photographs? Making dioramas? Staring at in an inheibriated stupor? What can I say... no sound effects or flying around the house for my toys... my cats enjoy it though . Is it wrong to swing a cat around over your head holding it's hind legs if it enjoys it??? vintage stuff is vintage which has appeal for those who lived in the sticks rowere poor back in the day and never had a vallk besides jetfire. re-issue rocks because they are damn near the same AND parts can be looted to repair the vintage stuff.... "well I have a vt-1 ostrich unbroken but missing it's tail... where to find a tail..." in addition... all us old schoolers with 1/55 armor now have a variety of valks to put it on. playing with toys... playing with the opposite sex... as long as your satisfied. There are actual females on this site, so I've heard, which implies your playthings can get along I'm married myself and let me tell you "why valks are better than women... Valks don't mind if you have a squadron. valks don't spend your money. valks never complain when you play with them. you can finger a friends valk. you can put a valk in a box on your shelf and leave it there for years. you can beat a valk to death, bury it in a shallow grave, and not go to jail. you can buy valks off ebay. valks come with instructions. you can sell a valk and it won't complain. valks don't feel ignored. valks don't care what you smell like. valks stay where you put them. valks don't cheat. you can get replacement parts for a damaged valk. you can custom your valk. you can trade valks with friends and not get a VD. you can ship a valk ups. you can tell if a valk is truely a virgin you can get a bootleg valk... I suppose you could get a ... nope..not gonna go there ." graham... You really don't want to know about the custom you inspired... And I bet I won't even be able to post pics when I'm done!!!
