  1. I've been involved in aquiring all sorts of stuff from a particular individual for some time now. Kinda like buying a complete collection but the guy has sooooooo much stuff I can't even imagine how spoiled his kids were. Yep... same guy I got the 100+ die-cast destroids from. After I nabbed everything robotech he had we moved on to battletech and warhammer. He knows I like customs so he sends me anything that might be of interest [ie look cool glued to something else ]. Basically the type of guy who has way to much cool crap and can't bear to toss it... IE me in 50 years LOL. I was expecting 3 cubic feet of 80's space lego's but I guess I'm a payment behind or just lost track. Anyways... I scored a bunch more of the die-cast star wars vehicles, more warhammer, about a billion small soldiers and fortress america figs, a ton of small plastic fighters, die-cast fighters, misc parts, 40+ dental tools, etc in this shipment. In one of the boxes in a box was tucked some macross figs I am unfamilier with. He described them as "plastic battletech things you had to assemble, slightly larger than the lead figs already sent"... which I took to mean the slightly larger plastic molds of the newer mecha. That is not what I got though. These are kits of some sort that actually have metal screws here and there and are articulate. I've never messed much with the smaller kits so I was wondering if these are the nimicho kits or something else entirely. I'd think they were nimicho based on the size comparison to the 1/144 destroid I have in the pics for reference, but I have never seen a nimicho soltyic/dourgam/zeus/whatever the hell the things in the pics are. So here we go with the pics.
  2. damn... motivation to finish a few of my customs. I can't help but think that most of them have gone above and beyond the bounds of good taste though. Should I just assume a custom bluntman and cronic 1/55 [aka the jamacian squad] with bongsabre and bluntlasers wouldn't be appreciated? I've got my nice "tail end of the war when parts were scarce" taka custom... which uses a variety of parts for that "damn I need an arm" type valk Anybody care about my spawn valk1, spawn valk2, spawn valk 3, spawn destroids, spawn glaug, etc? ... [what can I say but I had a bunch of spawn parts ] custom armor for the 1/100 toys? custom sdf-1 with zen ships for arms? lots more scary stuff in the works... Nothing like a crossbow for proper "customizing"
  3. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=4625 official customs thread LOL. Might want to search the how to customize toys forum as well. I'm thinking step-by-steps are a great Idea so graham should provide a spot for a link to the step by step hosted elsewhere . I'm working on a 1/55 repair guide myself at the moment.
  4. " 2 Transformer Jets SEALED Japan Autobots RARE "" This guys description makes them sound like the holy grail but at least his starting price isn't absurd http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...0&category=4694
  5. jeeze... when I get to detailed and specific I get yelled at and when I am ambiguous I get heckled . No indiglo isn't worth a damn for "recreational" purposes... it was just easier to refer to than whatever the proper chem name was for the stuff on the old alarm clocks with glow in the dark hands from the 50's. And it would take thousands of them and proccessing the scrapings repeatedly for that to be worth anything. You have to remember that back in the 50's the government was dosing our own troops with LSD and every kid wanted anything that said/was atomic cause atomic was cool. Everybody knows the tragic end of the poor basdard who discovered x-rays... now LOL. There are easier ways by far. It was just used to illustrate the "where there is a will, there's a way" premise. Heck... lots of everyday stuff is slightly radioactive in some manner and thats not even mentioning the radioactive paint they use to do the escape route arrow marks on the walls inside an aircraft carrier. "go ahead... lick it... I double dog dare you"... the paint wouldn't hurt you but you sure as hell want to stay away from the radar array . We've already discussed in the absurd auctions thread how you can purchase uranium off ebay. anyhow... I sell sharp pointies as a hobby and side business primarily to supplament my own collection. I only sell pointies! [ not counting everything else I sell... you know what I mean... no gunpowder related stuff like guns or mines] You really don't want to know the stuff I get offered all the time or the freaky people you meet by referal. god that got off topic. I know a few engineering student at the local university as well as a few professors. Usually whenever I ask them a question they just stare at me. For instance... most of us know what a cpu heat sink looks like. Most of us know what a cpu looks like. Why don't they have why don't cpu's have tabs along 2/4 sides like [] [] [] [] [] [] and heat sinks with the matching design so that there is more surface contact and thus better heat dissipitation? You could actually embed a tiny radiator in the chip but that would make it priced to high... I believe only the military can justify it at the moment. Wouldn't putting your pc in a dorm fridge work Why do most pc's bought from a store only come with one friggin fan?!? I've actually seen some with nothing but the cpu fan! All we need is an "atomic" cooling system and all will be well in the world
  6. I'd guess a polytheisic discordian tao-ist. All hail discordia... all hail eris
  7. purchase it... kinda... depends on how you do it. I learned the meathods of aquiring "controlled" substances a long time ago. Lets just say it one more reason to have a current student ID as for re-selling it once you use it in something... thats no problem as long as it's a sealed system and meets consumer regs. I have a smoke detector which uses radioactive material and simply states it's complience to whatever US code on the package. You can't buy mercury but you can buy a bunch of pool thermometers and drain the mercury from them. You can't buy plutonium but you can scrape the hands of a few thousand indiglo watches/clocks. And you'd be amazed what you can order from overseas All I know is that I feel antiquated with my pc's now
  8. $3.99 starting bid as well Who else is wishing the had a carton in the attic? If I only knew then what I know now
  9. a number of famous authors started out with short stories to get going. I've read alot and most of my favorite authors started this way. HEck... my favorite author is harlan ellison and over 90% of his stuff is short stories. Heinlien started out the whole lazarus long series with a short story and now there are a bunch of related books orson scott card, bradbury, + just about every other sci-fi author started that way. Read some of the older sci-fi/fantasy magazine, analog, etc and see how many famous authors started out there. heinlien did a recurring theme about one character, with short stories about him appearing in almost all his anthologies. Wish I could remember the characters name buwithout digging through my books.
  10. at least they are nice and white jetfire arms. that was $150 buy it now? not bad at all, especially as you can use arms from a re-issue to make it original in appearence
  11. there is a lot of varience in price depending on who your supplier is, how you have it shipped, the quantity you order, etc... here is a two month old email I got from easyshop88@hotmail.com . He has good prices but shipping kills you if you just buy one. the mark-up on toys is typically x4 from start to finish, doubling in price as it goes from manufacturer to distributor to retailer. Much better than the 100x mark-up jewlery normally has!
  12. that sounds about right. I've noticed that they are often refered to as "unseen" on ebay... whatever that means. I need one more friggin crusader to complete my chess set . I just have trouble spending $20 on a pawn. If anybody's got one they wanna trade... wasn't the zues something as well? Dourgam roundfacer or something?
  13. yep... same as gaming mini's. I still use citadel paint in fact . Just remember a little goes a long way. I wanna know if wm uses water based acrlic, oil based, or what?
  14. check this one out... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...1&category=4696 no bids... I wonder why? this one's pretty absurd to. Just how much is a friggin missle worth??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...1&category=4696 AL11 would laugh about the appreciation his toys have seen http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3&category=4696 and another one?!?! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...0&category=4696
  15. just wondering if anyone would have use for a parts breakdown and dis-assemble / re-assemble guide for the standard 1/55 valk. The standard being anything based off the original takatoku molds including bandai's, bandai reissues, joon's, taiwanese bootlegs, and jetfire's. I've repaired more than a few and have photo-documented many a procedure. I now have parts break-downs of all the major assemblies and sub-assemblies which can be used to take one apart or put one back together -depending on what you are doing. If it's of use I'll happily put it all on my sad-ass web site and provide a link, but if nobody cares I won't bother I still want everybodie's 1/55 spare parts as well
  16. I heard having a q-tip and alcohol was great for cleaning up fresh marker overlay from abbott but have yet to try it myself. Somewhere I have pics of a panel-lined jetfire [pencil] before and after if it's of use. At the very least I'd recommend using a mechanical pencil on an area and see if you like the effect as you can alway whipe it off. I like the effect of panel lining on my loose toys and customs but wouldn't do it to a MIB bandai seeker as $ is a factor on toys going for that much $ for me. I wouldn't panel line the yellow bit you mentioned unless there are raised/depressed bits present already. The point is to bring out the details of the plastic... not to fake them. Not that it couldn't be done well... but I'd like to see WM do it first to see what can be done
  17. the vt-1 was unarmed in the show Southcross, it came with arm armor in the toy format for whatever reason. I agree it's a nice collection frenchguy... why don't you have a alpha+beta yet???? Your one of the most likely to encounter it as it was only released in france... just search "gakken" on ebay france as it's not like americans actually bothered to learn french so they aren't competition My taiwanes super came packaged as one piece of "sty-ra-foam" [why the hell isn't phonetically spelled phonetically?!?!. I don't know how the 1990 "funnt head" super came packaged but I assume it was with one piece. I'm thinking that one piece is cheaper to make than two pieces. Back when they had a standard valk shape for different sets it made sense to just make a butt-load of the valk foam and the number required for the specialized "armor" foam. This applies in reverse to jetfire as the super armor styrafoam mold worked fine but the valk part had to be redone to accomidate the "americans are stupid hillbillies so the valk should have a blunted nose so children don't lose an eye and we don't et sued" mentality... same reason why hi's friggin gun didn't shoot! I still can't understand how a country that once produced lawn darts got so parinoid [nothing makes a family get-together rememberable like accidently impailing the family dog .] Damn frivolous lawsuits making poeple with more than one brain cell suffer. Hell... I'm a firm believe that rather than air-bags we should have large and sharp iron spikes in the center of our steering wheels just so we drive like rational beings rather than drugged lemmings! Lord knows I drive like a granny in my seatbelt-less camaro When re-issuing/bootlegging only one style armor you might as well do it in one piece to save money.
  18. I thought you were literate ewilen... "Vintage Gakken Mospeada Scott Bernard Small Cyclone still MINT in Box!" If thats how much they fetch now I should sell the two loose ones I have!!! Ah, they hid it in the description. Who ever reads descriptions anyway?
  19. resize it or re-resolution it and you should be able to shave three k off took me forever to get my avatar to the right size/dimensions
  20. what he said for the most part though some might add long live jetfire, the first valk most american children ever had
  21. I'll complain now if you want damn thing makes me dizzy
  22. the Pheyos looked cool. I wanna die-cast 1/72 one!
  23. I thought you were literate ewilen... "Vintage Gakken Mospeada Scott Bernard Small Cyclone still MINT in Box!" If thats how much they fetch now I should sell the two loose ones I have!!!
