  1. I'm so torn by this. As much as I'd love to see more Robotech I don't like the idea of Harmony Gold behind it. It'd be like asking George Lucas to direct another Star Wars film, ugh. I am leaning to donate still...
  2. For a second I thought the thread was titled 'Robotech' Mini Solid Snake
  3. I have a Gamecom 780 that is 7.1. It's really comfortable, software is easy and the sound is really good. So good that when I play BF4 I can hear an enemy sneak up behind me so it gives me the chance to turn around and shoot them in the face http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA19P0KB6078&cm_re=gamecom_780-_-0TH-000R-00020-_-Product
  4. Yeah, when I just put in 'Sidonia' it didn't show up for me as well. I did find it in their 'anime' category though.
  5. I just noticed they had a video presentation and after watching it I actually have confidence that they could do this right. HG wants to revisit the Sentinels series that was never finished. I'm leaning towards donating but I don't know how much at this time. At least HG keeps it canon and doesn't throw constant series revisions, I'm looking at you Transformers.
  6. If Carl Macek was alive and behind this then I'd probably put money into it. I don't like the idea of a 'Academy' storyline, that's something that was also discussed as a Star Trek (Star Trek: Academy) series years ago. Robotech had a great storyline with their version on protoculture so I think it'd be better if HG went bold and just rebooted the series using fresh characher/mecha designs so they would be free of any legal issues with the licensing from the original Japanese series.
  7. I watched the first two episodes on Netflix yesterday. The dubbing could of been better but everything else sounded and looked great on my large screen TV.
  8. It'd be nice if this series came to Netflix just like Knight of Sidonia did.
  9. I watched the first episode and it reminds me of The Last Resort which had a somewhat more tense directing and acting. The only thing that keeps me glued to The Last Ship is Rhona Mitra
  10. I watched the CGI Captain Harlock subbed. Nice animation but the story and ending was meh. Still, much better than the Space Battleship Yamato live action film and it'd be cool if they originally did in that style, but with a far better story.
  11. Nailed it. They even have to kill the enemy a certain way too. Good series but why is there such a lack of original thinking in Japan lately?
  12. I wanted to see this movie but after reading the reviews here and on sites I trust I decided to skip it. I'll just wait till it comes to FIOS or Netflix, it'll look just as good on my 65in plasma
  13. 'Old Painless' never gets old It's also cool that the guy that played Hawkins, Shane Black, is involved with the reboot. But as far as weapons being dated I think you could see America's high-tech Vs Predator tech in the reboot too.
  14. I don't get why people are freaking about the reboot. None of the sequels and spin-offs have been as good as the first film so I'm totally OK with a reboot if done right. The first film was good but it wasn't Citizen Kane, it was Rambo meets Alien and that was just plain cool. The biggest mistake they can make with this reboot is not filming it for rated R. I think that's what hurt the Robocop reboot too.
  15. Yeah, I agree. I guess they wanted to split up all the main characters this season too.
  16. Just finished the first season of Space Dandy. Han Solo+Quagmire=Space Dandy
  17. I remember seeing this on cable when I was a kid, back in the early 1980s. Damn I'm old.
  18. Saw it last night with the wife, there were more adults in the theater than kids It's probably the most detailed CGI animated film I've seen yet. Wish I saw it in 3D but my wife gets motion sickness from it, ugh. Was there a post credits scene?
  19. Knowing James Cameron we should at least see Michael Biehn and/or Bill Paxton in the sequels. I read a Michael Biehn interview where James Cameron originally wanted him to play the villain in Avatar but was afraid of the Aliens comparison.
  20. I'm former military (USCG, Army) and I just turn on suspension of disbelief when I see stuff that I know wouldn't happen in real life. Same goes for when I see a huge green lizard monster on the screen too
