What's hard to believe about all the prototypes in Zero? Considering the technology has been backward engineered for nearly 8 years at that point, I'm sure there were many prototype's that wouldn't make it to a standard military installation like South Atalia, but would be perfect for a crisis operation like securing the birdman.

I'd go with the TV series first. I do have to stress though, that the voyager starblazers DVD's are really terribly done, glitchy as all hell, episodes stitched together into long strings with only 1 opening & close, etc. As far as I know, Voyager has never shown any interest in releasing Yamato subtitled ever, and even if they did, they use some of the worst DVD authoring around. The HK Yamato sets are the way to go.

Maybe they'll have crossovers with the new transformers shows...

Ah yeah, I can't wait. Hopefully it'll be just as bad as the Sentinels, so it will fit nicely in my robotech crapology section (Sentinels, codename, this, and Space Gundam V!)......

Avoid the starblazer's DVD's. Aside from being dub only, they're very half assedly slapped together, terrible encoding, overpriced, etc. You can find all 3 Yamato seasons on HK DVD (very good subtitles) at just about anyplace HK's are sold. The whole series can be had for around $70, half the price of one star blazers season box set. I would also reccomend checking out the Yamaot movie set (r1) that pictures were posted up of above. While the encoding isn't that great, it's the only way to get the films currently.

Kinda looks like a combination of the V Gundam & Pheyos Valkyrie.... As for the Inbit, I alwasy thought they were energy beings that just took on biological forms to further their existence... Starting off with lower lifeforms like bugs, then dinosaurs, then humans, etc. Or are you guys just talking robotech?

There's a new Robotech game called Robotech:Invasion Is this the one you are referring to? I think it's on PS2 and XBOX Other then that I don't know of any macross game Assumedly, he's speaking of the Japanese Macross game that came out last year.

That's exactly what they did in SDF Macross, using Minmay's song. Only in DYRL and later shows was that changed. I think the confusion considering the TV series revolvses around the belief that it was Minmay singing Ai Wa Nagareru that won the war, which it didn't. Minmay's effect took place much earlier. It started with the Miss Macross pagent, & spread full swing once Loli Warera & Konda brought her music & their stories back to Britai's fleet. Minmay singing & kissing in episode 27 was indeed a diversionary tactic, but it's one that would not have worked unless the Britai Adoclas fleet hadn't defected against Bodolza before, due to being moved by human culture.

Maybe the claw is for running around & snipping off bikini's, like the crab robot in Mahoromatic!

A lot about the designs reminds me of Southern Cross. As far as Space Westerns though, don't forget to look towards Leiji Matsumoto.

This is the principle that Macross 7 holds, just as SDF Macross, DYRL, Plus, & Zero do. & Edo, have you watched DYRL yet?

Kojima has always been long winded, alwasy will be (if you'll recall, the end to snatcher was about an hour of spoken dialogue after your final battle), no big deal if you're used to it. And I also agree that you can't blame him for Twin Snakes, it was handled by another group. Point being, I want a 2004-2005 version of Snatcher damnit! Gilliam Seed was one of Kojima's most letcherous characcters yet. Aside from kickass storytelling & action sequences (MGS style fighting the Snatchers, and perhaps Silent Hill style scene investigation), the dating engine could be kicked into higher gear, "truly" exploring Outer Heaven, getting just the right camera angle to peak at his wife, Sneaking up on Katrina in the shower.....Snatcher will thrive in the day of the M rating!

Bitch, give me a VF-19 Kai with sound boosters & speaker system, and I'll solve that problem in Iraq immediately!

I just hope it leads to a remake, or perhaps a special hidden bonus of, the original Metal Gear 1 & 2. And while they're at it, Konami seriously needs to remake Snatcher using the MG or Silent Hill enigne damnit!
