  1. Great pictures, thanks for the posts and my apologies for my absence have been a bit busy with life but Macross is always on my mind!  Even though I haven't posted, I'm working on my Macross kit collection in one way or another pretty much daily!  Here's some recently completed 3D designed and printed Valkyries.  Each design commission was more than $300 each and there's around 15 to 20.  The reason is because most haven't been released as a larger scale model kit or especially as a toy.  So each one was created from scratch using the available line art, anime images, Macross Chronicle and so forth.  Fortunately, I was able to buy the entire set of 3D files from my friend who commissioned them for a much more reasonable price.  But I'm very appreciative of his efforts, the files include everything from both VF-14 variants, VF-9, VF-3000, VF-5000 and many more!  Here's a sample:

  2. Very nice!  Are these in your personal collection, or images from Experten, etc?  Great pictures by the way, I wasn't able to find these on their official website.  Where did you find them?

I'm really lucky to own the set of these three in a really nice Experten box, and I hope to share the completed builds with everyone soon!  Just waiting on more ball joints to arrive from HLJ.  I think it's extremely rare, so I feel very fortunate.

  3. Hello,

Thank you to everyone who posted and expressed an interest in my retro style AG box that combines vintage and modern aesthetics.

My apologies for the late reply, but I was waiting to receive the prototype box from England.  It's now with Tom in Chicago, who painted all of the finished AG sets.

The interior of my box is meant to hold the Bandai HMR VF-1J w/ GBP-1.  While providing a space at the side to put your AG armor set.

We'll be doing a photoshoot soon and I'll create a post in the MW For Sale section soon.  I was considering asking $100 for the box due to the design commission fees, printing/assembly cost and then shipping from England directly to the buyer.  Please give me your feedback if you think that price is reasonable considering I'm just breaking even.

Another idea is to offer the custom box, a custom weathered brand new Bandai HMR VF-1J & GBP-1 set, and a matching weathered AG armor set plus the commissioned AG poster artwork all as a package deal for around $500. My own VF-1J & GBP-1 & AG set were weathered and I think there's pictures in this thread.  The price would be significantly less if you provide your own Bandai HMR VF-1J w/ GBP-1 to be weathered or perhaps you prefer the new look.  But then for me it's not as realistic and unique.

    Sincerely,

    Christopher

  4. @Dark Skull Yes, you can get a revised unfinished leg armor set for just the shipping cost.  But a finished set will have a commission fee as well.

    @sh9000 You're welcome my friend!

@Mommar Thanks for the pictures and I love your armor sets!  The peg is an easy fix if you have basic modeling skills.

@Convectuoso Great image, I really appreciate your business brother!

I'm sorry for the late reply, my family and I have been visiting relatives in Texas.  Tom recently completed (3) standard AG sets for their new owners.  He also made a custom set of Max & Milia AG for me.

  5. Please check out my for sale post of the @Xigfridcustom assembled 1/60 Heavy Soldier Vajra (HSV) when you get time.  I also have his drones and so forth available.  I'm having his HSV 3D printed in another scale for a diorama scene.  The proceeds will be used for another armor project similar to the AG set.  So, your help will be greatly appreciated!  I hope to start a poll soon and request feedback and suggestions.  We have a lot of ideas for projects.  If someone is a 3D designer with a printer and interested in working on Macross projects please message me.

A MW member and I are also working on the Super Heavy Soldier Vajra, it should be done soon:

    https://www.mahq.net/superheavysoldier-vajra/

I worked with Xigfrid and hired a 3D artist to complete his Asuka II aircraft carrier from Macross Zero, it includes the Valkyries and mech for the flight deck.  We ended up starting from scratch though:

Here's some progress pictures for the MW members who ordered custom Armored GERWALK (Max & Milia) sets:

  6. @M'Kyuun Hello Bill, I sincerely appreciate your message it meant a lot to me.  Thank you for your service and I'm sorry for taking a while to respond.

@jvmacross I love your pictures, they're really dynamic and interesting!  It makes me happy to see that you and other fans are enjoying your kits.  A VEFR-1 is an excellent idea, I'm definitely going to pursue it along with additional armor kits like the Stampede and so forth.

@Dark Skull That's something else we have in common, we don't like to give up.  You and I shared quite a few messages, because I know your AG armor set means a lot to you.  Thank you for posting the pictures, it makes a great addition to your impressive collection.

@Graham We're all here because of you and Shawn.  You've been an inspiration to me for more than 20 years with your knowledge of and dedication to Macross.  So even if no more sets were available, I would find a way to get you one.  I'll send you a message with more information.

@sh9000 Thank you for contacting me and I'm glad we were able to talk about your Armored GERWALK kit.  I'll keep you posted!

  7. Yes, Xigfrid put everything together, and then separated the kit into sections to make it easier to ship and less susceptible to damage.  It's truly a work of art, even the tail can expand/collapse and move side to side as well!  The gun is massive, he designed it so you can light it up to recreate the anime!  I have a lot of model kits and toys.  This is one of the most poseable I own just by considering all of the joints.

We're also getting ready to print the prototype Super Heavy Soldier Vajra, which I coordinated with Xigfrid on:

  8. * Like new condition, Shapeways is gone and this kit was really expensive if you ordered from them costing around $700 ($288 + $400) not including shipping.  Plus you would have to order all the screws, etc and put it together with it being a very complicated kit that has a lot of articulation.  The amount of movement is absolutely crazy, you can add lights and so forth!

    * Mine is really special, because it was personally printed and assembled by the 3D designer @Xigfridand then shipped to me from France.

    https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/44207-m-frontier-heavy-soldier-vajra/

    * Selling this one, because I hired someone to 3D design the Super Heavy Soldier Vajra (SHSV) for a diorama I have planned.

    * The Vajra are really amazing creatures, and it's great to have something on display besides Valkyries!  Hopefully you already watched Macross Frontier, but you can learn more about them here:

    * 1/60 scale so it's perfect to display alongside your Yamato, Bandai and Arcadia VF collection!

    * Discounted to $500 plus shipping, which will be quoted after payment is received and I know the destination.  Payment via PayPal plus 4%, this is a really rare Holy Grail Macross item!  Have something unique, interesting and fun on display instead of just Valkyries!

    * I also have some of his small Vajra, drone and more if those are of interest please let me know and I'll post pictures with prices.

    * First (5) pictures are Xigfrid's prototype, last image is what you will receive:

  9. Whew, at least they're giving us kits in 1/100 scale, which is my personal favorite size.  I hope we'll get the full line up, plus enemy mecha and from other series too.  It's definitely frustrating not being able to have all of them in the same and/or your preferred scale.

  10. Some reminders, the armor pegs on our project are designed for regular VF-1 hands that all releases come with, not the large GBP-1 style hands.  Although I'm sure that you can get them to stay on by adding something inside the larger holes.

There's a technique for attaching the armor, especially the leg sections due to the fin.  Please watch the YouTube video Tony made and there's also a nice set of PDF instructions.  The parts don't need to forced on otherwise the tabs can break.  If you're having any trouble getting an armor part on, please message @magicsp00n the 3D project manager.

  11. @Test_Pilot_2 I appreciate your message, offer of assistance and kind words!  Thanks also for your service.  I'm a veteran as well, from a military family going back several generations.  I'm a member of the VFW, DAV, FRA and worked as a NSO representing veterans at the DVA in DC and other states.  (We love our acronyms.  haha)  You have an amazing collection, is there someplace I can see the pictures?  I recall his Lego Variable Glaug, it's a work of art and I think he only made one.  I'm sure you paid a pretty penny for it and I would love to have that Mecha in my collection.  It's definitely going to be a future project!  I love your nameplates, let's work together on the details you need and I would love to have some for my display if that's possible.

@vladykins Sounds good, excited to see your pictures!

  12. Honestly, I just have so many different emotions seeing these pictures...seeing everyone's excitement, anticipation, etc!  I feel proud and a bit misty eyed to see this armor set a reality, when at times I had given up hope.  Nervous about whether you guys would like the kit, the quality, paint job and so much more.

Thanks so much for the amazing pictures!  Please post more when you guys get time.  I've suffered from depression/post traumatic stress disorder for many, many years and have a hard time just feeling happy or even appreciative of all my blessings.  But Macross is something that takes my mind off of it, and it's nice to have a sense of accomplishment being a toy/model kit creator.  I couldn't have done it without Tony and Tom though.

The childhood remembrance of Christmas evening having trouble falling asleep in anticipation of what Santa would bring.  Is still alive within every member of Macross World, otherwise we wouldn't be here.  For me it's the time I received a Matsushiro Jetfire and it led me on a journey to learn more about it's origins.  It's all about the imagination and never growing old!

Sad to say I don't have my own Armored GERWALK kit, because the prototype was used for the photoshoot.  But I'm happy to wait.  Since I haven't personally held the armor I cannot speak to it's strength or resilience.  With that said, please be careful with your armor sets take care putting them on and don't use force.  The last thing I want is for anyone to experience damage or scratches.  haha

    (5) unfinished kits were shipped to Tom today to make the custom AG sets that (2) customers ordered, they should arrive soon.  We don't yet have a firm paint scheme for the customs, but between Tom and I we'll come up with something that looks nice.  For Max & Milia having one part from each such as a wing since it has the blue or red & light gray would be a huge help so we can match the colors as closely as possible.  Likewise we'll need to do the same for other customs.  I also placed an order for (5) more unfinished kits.

  13. @Slave IV Thanks for you interest.  Yes we're planning to provide more un/finished kits in the near future.  I already placed an order with Tony to print (5) more AG armor sets, and he estimated two weeks until ready.

@DownIsUp The box art is ready, and we'll ship one for each unfinished kit order as soon as possible.  I just received an update that the decals are enroute from the supplier to Hong Kong.  Hopefully they can be shipped directly from HK to the customer, one for each unfinished kit order.  But they buyer will have to cover the international shipping, which shouldn't be too much.  I took the extra step to include Macross vintage nose art style decals.  Please see the picture below, it's been enlarged so the actual decal quality will be much better.

@Dark Skull I appreciate your order and excitement.  It was shipped this past weekend with the other finished kits.  USPS sent the tracking number to your email address at that time, and I updated your PayPal account to the status.  It looks like you'll be receiving it on Friday.

  14. @djivaldi7He has an account on MW and posted before, but it's been so long I can't recall his username anymore.  I'll ask him if he's planning to attend either one, and I can also introduce you so that you two can communicate directly.  Tom's very good, I can send you some samples of his work.

Please check my For Sale Post for an update when you get time:

  15. @magicsp00nThe 3D designer/printer was cool enough to make a nicely done set of instructions as a PDF, which I can email to all of the customers.

Unfinished Kit Shipping Update:  Tony advised me that he plans to ship all paid orders this weekend!  These (5) kits won't include the commissioned box art stickers, because they arrived too late and I don't want customers to wait any longer.  But they can be mailed at a later date.  The (5) remaining unfinished kits will go to Tom for commissions, and will have the box art stickers applied.  I've also commissioned decal sets and those will be mailed to the customers who want them, but you'll have to cover the postage since they're coming from overseas.

Finished Kit Shipping Update:  Tom updated me that he put the box art decal on all of the boxes, and the (10) finished kits are ready to mail out within a day or two.

I'll update everyone with the tracking numbers once I have them.  Thanks again for your business!

  16. (7) Unfinished Kits Available!!!

    (10) Finished Kits Sold!  (Please contact me if you're interested in one and I'll have it started.)

Please let me know if you want to buy one, no limit.  Someone also asked if they can make payments.  Yes, if you want a kit please put at least half down and the other half by October 2.  Kit would be shipped after completing the balance due, or upon completion of commission if finished.  We're also working on decals, which will be available if we're able to get them done.

Tony in North Carolina @magicsp00n the AG kit designer/printer will handle shipping for all unfinished kit orders.  I gave everyone's address and will update the tracking information once he ships.  Please be patient, because he works full time and has a family.

Tom in Chicago the AG kit painter will handle shipping the finished kits.  I gave everyone's address and will update the tracking information once he ships.  Please be patient, because it's a lot of kits to ship to include two international orders.

If you want another finished AG kit, please message me and let me know if it's the standard color scheme  or for a specific pilot so I can have Tom start to paint it for you.  The unsold unfinished kit(s) will be used to fulfill your order.
