I hate rightstuf with the passion of a million burning suns right now. My first order with them, the Votoms boxset, they made me jump through a million hoops to only then say "sorry, it's sold out, check in often to see if we've got it back in stock to ship to you." How much you wanna bet two months from now they'll tell me the DVD set is out of print and refund my money? Meh, my bad luck I suppose. I bought "Robotech The Movie" off eBay from some guy who clearly just takes old tapes, puts on DVD-Rs, and then develops cases for them and uses software to make legitimate looking DVDs. It's complete with tracking fuzz! The DVD doesn't even play on my nice DVD player... I have to play it on my PS2 or computer. I knew I was in for that when I bought it though. You want a copy?

I did purchase Robotech the Movie (the Megazone 23 adaptation) and holy christ, I think I am going to absolutely LUV Robotech Shadow Chronicles. After the steaming pile Robotech the Movie is I am going to think Shadow Chronicles is AMAZING in comparison. Wow... from atrocities in continuity, bad video from a VHS tape turned DVD, to just about every other aspect of it... YIKES! You wanna talk about something to watch with Sentinels and Space Gandam... this is it!

Yeah, you know if they were going for a more primitive look on these predecessors the heads offered great opportunities. Let's go over this, "City Urban" isn't exactly a great start seeing as the words are being used interchangeably. "Camoflauge Color" isn't a very good end seeing as "Camoflauge" almost always means some manner of varying colors/tones and thus should necessitate a pluralization. Basically, I think I have to nominate this for worst-named Yamato product. The toy should be named "Urban Camoflauge Version" or simply "Urban Camoflauge." End rant.

If you're talking about the neck collar.... obviously not. If you're talking about the tab that holds the backpack down, no, but it helps if you're going to be handling the valk.

Another tip is to make absolutely certain you've got the little fin in the back propped back down inside the battloid. If it's stuck sticking out that's a good way to break your BP8.

The strike has the fixes, I'm not sure on the one sold w/out strike kit. Anyone own a non-strike Roy? EDIT - have you seen how fugly the head is? It's terrible.

My CF does this also. Basically the tab isn't rooted well (the indents in the plastic aren't deep enough or something like that) so the pull of the backpack unseats the tab with enough pressure to shoot it. It can be quite the scare 'cause then you have to find it. I can't remember but shouldn't the white neck collar help prevent it though? Anyway, here's how you fix it, you take a piece of Scotch tape, you wrap it around the inside of the tab that becomes a projectile and snip it when you get to the top on the other side. You put the tab now back into the spot it belongs and it will fit much tighter and no longer be able to generate the force to pull it free. Since it's simple tape you can always remove the part and clean the stick-um off it should you need to later.

I hope it won't come to that. Isn't Hikaru's VF-1A also the first 1/60 VF-1 they made? That's got trouble written all over it (not that Yamato doesn't have a stellar record with first releases). Besides, even the 1/60 supporters wouldn't DARE say that the 1/60 is HALF the toy the 1/48 is. They might say that it's slightly more poseable, they might enjoy its proportions better, but they can't ever say it's preferable to a 1/48. Well, I guess people who equate diecast with quality might like the 1/60 better... but that's like the guy who only digs fat chicks telling you your model girlfriend isn't cute. EDIT - Av3rag3, it's good to have a 1/60 VF-1 so you can pose it with any future items you buy since it's clearly a prominent scale now.

1/60 VF-1 doesn't even begin to compete with the 1/48. Please think of the 1/60 VF-1 as a learning experience for Yamato and nothing more.

Let's keep it cordial here folks. Prometheum's logic is flawed though, after dropping $200 on a toy that is flawed would you rather keep it and be irked at it or sell it for a big loss and realize you just threw money away? You'd probably grumble and keep it. Does that mean you have no right to complain? No, you have every right to complain. People would only rush to sell their product if there was another company with a better product looming or if they had enough money they really didn't mind losing $XX to basically have rented a toy for a month, realized it sucked, and then moved on.
