Forgive me guys, I don't actually own one of these, but these parts are internal right? If so, wouldn't just any color of super hard resin work?

New Robotech Shadow Chronicles Vid

I think I made that exact same quote when a super petite female friend of mine was surgically enhanced... eventually I was able to get some movement out of them but that's neither here nor there... wow. I don't consider myself agro... but I'll let ya know -
It's too bad I put away my VF-0S or else I'd measure Roy. Isn't Roy something like 8'5" tall in Macross or something? I seem to remember thinking he was a giant. Anyway, I definitely think that Yamato is exercising a bit of artistic license as Justvinnie pointed out with the pilot figures to get them to be a bit better looking. They probably saw how nice the reaction was when they first started including pilots with their fastpack 1/72 releases and so they've made them little display pieces ever since... which meant making them a bit bigger than they ought to be. Again, it's too bad I don't have 'em out for measuring

I think I'm probably going to buy a few boxes to *hopefully* cover my bases.

Man... if this thing were $75 I'd probably be all over it. At $150 I'm still stuck hesitating. I want it... but I'm not sure I want it that bad...

What ya gotta understand is, the scale on the Alpha in fighter mode is just OFF. Way off. Here's the dimensions: In "real life" an Alpha in fighter mode is 10.25Meters long (1,025CM) In "real life" an Alpha in Battloid would stand 8.75Meters tall (875CM) The Toynami Alpha in fighter mode is 24CM long. In fighter mode the Alpha is about 1/43 scale. Standing in Battloid the Toynami Alpha is 17cm tall. In Battloid mode the Alpha is between 1/51 and 1/52 scale. This isn't really fair though. You could say that the Alpha might be proportioned to be 1/52 scale also in fighter mode but since it's a toy it just can't collapse as much as it should (the dimensions of the toy would change a lot if you could slide the feet deep within the leg like the lineart suggests you should. The pilots for the Robotech Alphas are 2.5CM sitting. Multiplying that by 60 would make them 5' tall sitting or somewhere between 6 and 7' tall standing (probably closer to 7'). At 1/48 scale these figures are a hair under 4' tall sitting which would put them in the 5-6' tall bracket which might be a bit short. I think the 1/52 scale becomes the answer again.

What if they did a conversion kit?

Sounds like you'd agree with my review. I hear the 0A is improved but the shoulders are still prone to breaking.
-
Here you guys go... it ain't much of a toy but it's definitely OLD SCHOOL: It's my latest review... I hadn't done anything vintage in a while.

F that, they just need to reissue these!

Robotech the movie is all over eBay now for $25 shipped. Still about 25x more than it's worth but yeah, considering people were buying it for over $100... -
New Robotech Shadow Chronicles Vid

I hate rightstuf with the passion of a million burning suns right now. My first order with them, the Votoms boxset, they made me jump through a million hoops to only then say "sorry, it's sold out, check in often to see if we've got it back in stock to ship to you." How much you wanna bet two months from now they'll tell me the DVD set is out of print and refund my money? Meh, my bad luck I suppose. I bought "Robotech The Movie" off eBay from some guy who clearly just takes old tapes, puts on DVD-Rs, and then develops cases for them and uses software to make legitimate looking DVDs. It's complete with tracking fuzz! The DVD doesn't even play on my nice DVD player... I have to play it on my PS2 or computer. I knew I was in for that when I bought it though. You want a copy? -

Wow, you got yours quick. Did you eBay it? I went the Amazon route... not expecting mine until next week. Here's something fun though. I did purchase Robotech the Movie (the Megazone 23 adaptation) and holy christ, I think I am going to absolutely LUV Robotech Shadow Chronicles. After the steaming pile Robotech the Movie is I am going to think Shadow Chronicles is AMAZING in comparison. Wow... from atrocities in continuity, bad video from a VHS tape turned DVD, to just about every other aspect of it... YIKES! You wanna talk about something to watch with Sentinels and Space Gandam... this is it! -
Where does HLJ get their conversion rate from?? XE.com says 4500 Yen is $37 not $27. WHOA, HLJ updated while I was typing this.

I can't wait until I get my next paycheck so I can do my massive Preorder I've been planning... these just made the list

I think I've seen that pen in a version that vibrates in an adult "book" store.
-
this is kinda like watching the guy at the party that can do way more drugs than everyone else. I'm impressed... but I'm not sure I'm envious.
-
Mr Slave I know exactly what you're talking about. Sounds like you're making good time through the series. You've also been introduced to Milia... oh wait, that's not her name in this series.

It's hard to see but my indent looks the same as yours:

Yeah, there are some parts that get a bit tough to follow because of the translation issues. After watching some episodes you might want to Google search up some recaps online (but be careful not to read ahead). After I finished the story I had to do some research. Maybe you'll have better luck but when they start talking about the space station I got totally lost (no, I'm not giving anything away). Who was Slay?
-
Yeah, you know if they were going for a more primitive look on these predecessors the heads offered great opportunities. Some big lenses and sensor arrays only partially shielded would have done well for that I think. Out of curiosity, does anyone think Roy's plane should be a VF-0J since it only has the two guns? Has anyone already discussed the name of the GBPIII? The name is "City Urban Camoflauge Color." Let's go over this, "City Urban" isn't exactly a great start seeing as the words are being used interchangeably. "Camoflauge Color" isn't a very good end seeing as "Camoflauge" almost always means some manner of varying colors/tones and thus should necessitate a pluralization. Basically, I think I have to nominate this for worst-named Yamato product. The toy should be named "Urban Camoflauge Version" or simply "Urban Camoflauge." End rant.

If you're talking about the neck collar.... obviously not. If you're talking about the tab that holds the backpack down, no, but it helps if you're going to be handling the valk.
-
Another tip is to make absolutely certain you've got the little fin in the back propped back down inside the battloid. If it's stuck sticking out that's a good way to break your BP8.

Packaged in cruiser mode eh? I think it looks nice. Does it look $150 nice? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
