  1. It's always cheaper (cost/unit) to keep a production line going and produce more than to stop. The downside is you flood the market and your products get put on sale. That's why most manufacturers of niche toys prefer the scarcity route to keep prices high. KC is attempting to have both by doing lots of different paint schemes but we've already seen a couple flash sales.
  2. But it ain't cheap shipping!
  3. The bad fit of the arms was universal, something was definitely off in the molds and probably exacerbated by the assembly.
  4. I'd be curious to see if bent head lasers is a thing now... I suspect the user or the person at the factory who threw it in the tray just had it snag on a hand at some point since, as others have pointed out, not a lot of good places to handle this thing. If we see a rash of them though, we'll know it's manufacturing related.
  5. This is the only post about the reissue I've seen. It offers only limited hope.
  6. So far one report said it was only better on one side... So maybe not.
  7. Lol, seems pretty easily resolved.
  8. Yeah, the 31A was glorious, it's the AX that has been mildly problematic in fighter mode. I don't think this has anything to do with mold degradation, it's all related to the unique aspects of the AX.
  9. I would prefer they be tinted clear plastic instead of metallic.

  11. The easiest way to do that is watch the wanted forum. When people say they want something, let them know you have it. Then, very gradually, you can shrink the collection and it's not a big burden all at once.
  12. Oof, bringing up old wounds there!
  13. They will most likely be sold separately, I'm guessing with a concurrent reissue of the Legioss/Alpha.
  14. So, basically, nobody knows, we can't make sense of it, and it won't matter because it's never getting made. Maybe Sony was going to buy BW and put Macross on Crunchyroll.
  15. Maybe that was HG's plan but Sony had other ideas? HG had constraints, Sony has the means to remove them. The whole idea of getting the license makes a lot more sense if they could leverage what's popular about it.

The original Hi-Metal toys actually had a functional backpack lock when you pushed them down. For some reason, the HMR toys don't have it and it's a bummer, it helped with super/strike parts.
  17. So Sony must have been convinced they could get BW to buy-in somehow because that definitely looks more like "live action Macross" than it has any business in doing. Honestly, I'm sure Sony could have, they certainly have the means. Maybe release it in Japan as TLA Macross via the reverse Robotech treatment.

This thread has gone right down the drain.
  19. Has anyone had success tightening up the hips on their DX VF-25 toys (either renewal or revival)? All I've every done is torque the screw a little harder but has anyone popped the screws out and done anything internally and really liked how it came out?
  20. Is it solid diecast metal?
  21. I'm still going with the whole Bandai owns Sunrise argument for why it's not Satelight. The theory makes even more sense in light of what Seto said about why Sunrise wasn't the first pick when Delta was produced (still being gobbled up by Bandai).
  22. I didn't know about that hack. I'll give that a try and if it fails, I'll try the Plastruct recommendation. Still working on my Invid Scout review. Here's another fun pic:
