  1. I agree with that... But I also believe the right engineering can get you close. Sentinel's Legioss did things no one thought was possible for that design to become a toy. The issue may be that the amount of engineering required would make the toy crazy expensive or no fun like the Draken.
  2. I remember seeing pics of all the prototype parts (which I think Yacolog had) but the molds themselves? No idea.
  3. Sigh... that's true. They were so close to releasing Houquet also. What's more frustrating, someone got the molds and probably just tossed them.
  4. There's a HUGE difference in articulation from the chunkies to today. Bandai really should have made articulation improvements when they did earlier reissues... At least a knee swivel, back joints at the hips would have also been great. I doubt they would do it now though since it would compete with their own products.
  5. Okay, so it sounds like folks who can't get it at the event will have a chance to order it through the Tamashii website? Sounds like what we saw for the Hajate 31 movie version.
  6. Event exclusive? That's rude.
  7. Orguss is BACK! Ya know what's lame, the whole "is back!" thing I believe originally was a way of teasing someone who said more Mospeada toys were going to come... guess that was one of those "he who laughs last" moments.
  8. Maybe Moshow started it as a third party unlicensed product and then got shut down by HG so they decided to keep the project alive with a license.
  9. You mean Harmony Gold? From everything we know, they have a solid relationship with Tatsunoko and the license was renewed not too long ago. If you mean Moshow, I think they must since toynami is showing off the product.
  10. Well there's one reason.. it didn't sell well the first time around. They did re-release max and Miria's 1J toys though and they also didn't sell well the first time... Then again, they sold pretty awful the second time so that may actually be working against this hope.
  11. If we were taking about unlicensed products, sure. Not sure how it would make sense to do a radical alteration to avoid copyright issues then still get the license.
  12. While you're right, if it ever gets made, it will be the closest thing to it we could likely hope to see in toy form.
  13. Man... looking at that thing sure does take me back in time to my childhood.
  14. There's not much in ThreeZero's history that suggests they would try to venture into less popular (or enemy) mecha. I think Hi-Metal R is just about our only hope there. It looks a safe bet that both GBP and Super Parts are possible if the sales are good. There is some precedent that these could be sold as add-ons instead of second release bundles. Here's an Eva add-on kit: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/170715?o=4

It will all depend on the conversion rate
  16. This image shows the clearance. Not a ton but better than KC:
  17. Does the airbrake look functional also?
  18. If I were a betting man, I would think ThreeZero would be much more metered in their approach. The most aggressive I would imagine them being is one per quarter but I suspect it will be one every six months to nine months. I wonder if they'll hold out on the 1S and wait to get through the 1J repaints first.
  19. The more parts, the longer it takes me to review... And they have so many parts!
  20. I was working on my B2Five review and it was going to end "C'mon B2Five, give us a matching Alpha!" Then I went to comic con and saw this. You can tell the pilot is a B2Five by the pegs on the wrist
  21. Not "TV" version, just not the "movie color" version. Man I haven't handled mine in ages.
  22. There's something very curious happening with the lower leg. I wonder if it pivots instead of sliding out to extend.
  23. Insert "I got a bad feeling about this" images here.
  24. I don't agree with that take at all. These firms hire designers that work with multiple companies. I remember hearing during the VF-17 and VF-171 days how the same team was working on both and trying to determine ways to differentiate them. During the V1 vf-25 days, Bandai tried to do things in house... It was not so good. Also, the toys you site have significant differences from their predecessors. The DX VF-1 is VERY different from a V2 while being the same vehicle, the 19 also has pretty dramatic changes. Let's not forget Bandai made an amazing VF-31 toy with no toy to take inspiration from. The 21 might turn out to be a clunker... But it's not because the only way Bandai can make a good toy is if they have a good toy to work from.
  25. No trade at wonder fest? I need pics!
