  1. Y'all haters can hate on this paint scheme... I hope that just means I'll be able to get one.
  2. I've been handling my V1 Alto a fair bit lately (I did a super parts comparison of V1 to V2 recently on anymoon). I have the Alto that came with Tornado parts and it's not at all yellowed (although it's a later release). I can't speak to the blue "movie" version but if you HAVE to go V1 the Tornado Parts toy might not be a bad bet (but I'd echo the sentiment that the V2 is a huge improvement).
  3. I just transformed my armored Alto and Ozma toys from Battroid to Gerwalk... it wasn't so bad going that way. I also transformed my V1 armored Alto from battroid to gerwalk and that was a true trial of patience.
  4. It looks like the Toynami has nearly the same sized feet as the Gakken 1/35.

    DX VF-25G

A friend in Japan says he was able to grab me one. W00t!
  6. I thought long and hard about buying one but limiting myself to finished licensed products is one of the few ways I can keep this hobby from getting outlandishly expensive. I'm sure we'll get some awesome Gakken comparisons pics at some point that will make me regret my decision.
  7. Nice... there's a better pic that sums it up though:
  8. Did kawamori suggest the changes?
  9. I sold a full set on eBay that had been opened but without breaking that seal (funny how that's possible)for about $50... so like $10 a toy. For one that's unopened you might get $20 for it.
  10. Maybe replacements for the Yamato Scopedog toys?
  11. While you couldn't pull off a giant flying jack o' lantern you probably could do a Jolly Roger on the top of a VF-1.
  12. With QE3 being announced I wouldn't be surprised if the Yen to dollar is 70:1 come late December.
  13. Precisely. You get the sense the figure has no gerwalk mode but rather that someone gave up halfway through the transformation process.
  14. Half the 19's gerwalk issues are kawamor's fault. The 19's gerwalk is terrible even in the line art. I do agree that Yamato could have done better though.
  15. The 1/48 LowVis DID languish on store shelves. It was a long time before it sold out and then eventually became a collector's item. The Low Vis VF-1S Focker is just a darker version of a canon scheme... I'm pretty sure that's exactly because of what stinkers the 1/48 LV, LVII, and Stealth were for Yamato. If you want a non-canon scheme maybe you'll get a Hikaru VF-1J LV that's a dark gray but I'm pretty sure the reason Yamato keeps releasing "no paint" versions is so that people can make their own non-canon schemes because Yamato doesn't want to risk getting burned by them. Maybe Yamato will prove me wrong though.
  16. I am cool with how the normal CTS-V sedan looks, it's pretty manly. That Hennessy coupe though is is too manly... like a huge female body builder.
  17. All non-canon schemes sell poorly.
  18. Anymoon.com has a review with lots of pics as well.
  19. Yes, they sold weathered 1/60 Super Parts at one point.
  20. And when the shoulder breaks off your Yamato version the first time you transform it, what then? EDIT: Nevermind, I know, wait for a revised second release!
  21. I don't believe they ever made a painted prototype of the Fuke. Beagle is dead... the best we could hope for now would probably be a WonderFest conversion kit of the Beagle toys to the Fuke or Yellow variants.
  22. Did Yamato steal Mr. March's colored line art?
