Regarding the VF-1 and GERWALK mode. I believe the story goes that Matsuhiro designed a mock-up VF-1 based on Kawamori's design. Matsuhiro had been hired by Takatoku to do the legwork on the toy and when the Matsuhiro guy met with the Takatoku guy and Kawamori the toy ended up in what would later be known as GERWALK mode and thus the mode was born. I think this story is a little slanted though. I'd guess what really happened is that GERWALK mode existed already but that Matsuhiro wasn't told it was necessary for the toy so they designed a two mode transformation VF-1. Then, when fiddling around with it they found that their toy could do all three modes just fine and some how this story developed into Takatoku creating GERWALK mode.

I'm not so sure. The VF-4 maybe, especially if they made it a Flashback version. The VF-11B/C are coveted by a handful of people and a release of any volume would far exceed demand. If they made them to order through a website and could make a run of like 200 valks then sure... otherwise it's right back to the HLJ bargain bin.

You seem to be assuming this toy will share any thing with the old mold and I suspect that's not true.

Hopefully the manner of construction makes a VF-0S and VF-0A easy to produce so those potential sales can take the edge off the VF-0D MSRP. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any market for a non-canon VF-0 market so if I'm Arcadia three variants would be all I'd budget for. Fortunately, the 0 overall seems to be a simpler design than the 19 so hopefully that means fewer parts and that further drives down the price. So, I'll put my vote in for cheaper than the YF-19 but not by much.

GERWALK mode on some valks looks pretty bad and seems like an afterthought. The VF-1 and VF-0 rock it super well. The YF-21 and YF-19 on the other hand... well... they figured out a way to let them have that mode and that's about all you can say for them.

They could be successful with this if it's sparkly and includes extras only available through this purchase. I'd be up for that. -

Negative, this began at Yamato. The success of the VF-19 moved the YF-19 project in front of the VF-0D project.

Well, everyone tells me Mac7 is popular in Japan so I guess this makes sense... but wow, what an easy pass. I think the sound booster might have gotten hard to get but I'll bet you can still buy the Kai for less than MSRP out there. The sound booster was kinda lame. -

Maybe this is where Yamato missed their mark. The GnuDou figures should have been characters, not mecha!

What law where? I'm sure you're a pretty good lawyer but I've been brushing up on my bird law and I'm pretty sure they are not responsible for the costs of return shipping... I think it's even in the PayPal terms of service.

I think all adults will agree that a serious anime with less music idols would be great... but since this will be a show meant to appeal to teenagers and sell MP3s it's unlikely to matter.

I've heard some rumors about Arcadia expecting a third party to make Frontier super parts for this toy. I wouldn't put much stock in it but that's what I heard. -

I think it was an assembly issue that caused the downfall of the 0 series arms and Arcadia is going with diecast this time so people won't be afraid this toy has the same faults.
