  1. I'm in that group but I've never known them to reach out until it was ready to go out the door.
  2. But the knees only bent in the wrong direction! Otherwise, I concur, I really liked that toy. Yamato was very fighter focused as a design preference which shows in their YF-21 and VF-17. On the 21 that was well received but Macross7 leaned heavy on chunk for battroid so their skinny fighter mode effort backfired with a lot of fans... Their VF-17 also feels needlessly complicated after handling Bandai's toy... Of course, then Bandai have us the DX 171 which introduced a while bunch of new problems.
  3. I think they only pay fees when they use the license. I also think it's a hobby or side gig more than a traditional company. If they do shut down, it will likely be because they don't have the time to invest or lose the passion. If it's a bad time for new projects, they can choose to just wait for better times since they don't need the revenue. That's the sense I get at least.
  4. Yeah I was thinking they would go the sticker route like they did with the Kakizaki tail fin fix. A better idea, probably for everyone, would be to go 1A as regular release and 1S as TWE and for Bandai to make them at the same time and sell them a couple months apart from each other.
  5. I would have been wrong every time I tried to guess Bandai's DX line up but what the heck, here's my latest guess: VE-1 TWE VF-1A DYRL Hikaru DYRL Strike Parts Reissue TWE VF-1J Max VF-1J Miriya TWE VF-1S TV Super Hikaru Clear Tamashii Event VF-1A Max DYRL (bonus points if they make it convertible to VF-1S)
  6. To make more money later.
  7. I'm guessing the folks who are Arcadia have other full time jobs that are keeping them busy. Also, as I understand it, when a new show begins production there's a lot of reshuffling of licenses so they may be in limbo waiting for BigWest to give them the green light on Macross stuff. Hopefully that let's then focus on the Hargun...
  8. The PF is loads more difficult to produce and the Yen is weak. Based on the regular release price hike, it says to me they don't feel comfortable with what they would need to charge.
  9. I wonder when the SDF-1 will go up for PO if it's supposed to be out this year. I like to see signs of life from Arcadia.
  10. Sure... But there is line art on how it's supposed to look.
  11. Man, I'm still going to be playing with the YF-21 when this arrives... Good problems to have.
  12. Boys art foul. Pre-order cancelled! Jk, I would have never caught that.
  13. Aw man, wish they would have it at SDCC, I would totally grab one!
  14. This might sound a little crazy, but I don't think it's from the box being squished. I think the toy is so heavy that the problem comes from the box being shaken. I think the little brick of toy causes the trays to flex if the box bumps around too much. Just my guess though.
  15. I also gently pushed the head laser into position and it looks fine now. There's a stress mark but you have to look real close to see it. Since it's not a part that ever receives any intentional stress it should hold up fine. Hopefully I don't accidently stress it a bunch of times on accident while handling the toy.
  16. I think that would be its own video, a YF-19 Original Release vs. Reissue. That would definitely be a video with talking instead of this picture show. I have a few hurdles though: 1) I don't have unlimited money for toys so I can't afford to buy the same toy twice; that's why I tend not to pick-up straight reissues. I make exceptions when a manufacturer like Arcadia puts out some tweets about improvements or even changes the packaging. 2) First release vs. second release would always be an unfair comparison. My first release toy will have always been handled and transformed several times in comparisons to other toys while the reissue will be right from the box experiencing its first handling. If the reissue doesn't feel better and tighter, that's a really bad sign! Things like the Arcadia YF-19 ankles are known to get looser over time, especially if you put the toy in GERWALK a few times. 3) Though you would think with all the computer assisted manufacturing that tolerances from toy-to-toy in a manufacturing run would all be consistent, but they're not, so observations like "this joint feels tighter on the second release" could be specific to the toy I purchased. I did make a few of those references in the DX YF-19 comparisons but tried to make sure it never sounded like "this is what you will experience if you buy this toy". Maybe I can purchase and compare a lightly used reissue to my lightly used original release... so maybe it'll happen some day.
  17. A little late to the party but I put together this video comparison of the PF vs the Regular release:
  18. I don't know what the solution will be through retailers. Hopefully a picture will suffice and then they can mail a replacement part. Sending the whole toy back seems like a much sillier process than fixing the kink when it's a relatively minor case. I'm hoping I can get a replacement through my retailer and also fix the one I have so I can enjoy it while I wait for resolution.
  19. Anyone figure out a way to straighten it yet? Maybe an iron on it's lowest setting and putting a thick piece of fabric above it? Blow dry it for a bit and then place a book on top of it to flatten and then run under cold water?
  20. Mine arrived from HLJ and I too have the crooked head fin.
  21. Don't we have pictures in this thread of it removed? Bandai is going to burn money with this approach.
  22. It's very hard to imagine that though right? Much easier to imagine it is getting banged after the fact. At least with the volume this is happening, Bandai will definitely research it.
  23. Really wish there was a basic version without a cockpit or lights... Extra weight and expense... I'd rather own three cheap battlepods instead on one expensive one... Or the cheap AND one expensive one.
  24. The plates should have openings that slide closed and the guns should mount to the legs. This would also help with the 22. The guns could also be designed to collapse more.
  25. LOL, it's almost certainly the shape of the blister the toy is packed in: if pressure is applied on the left side the blister is better supported, if pressure is applied on the right side the blister gives and the fin gets crushed. Though not exaclty the same, that's also how the YF-19 lasers broke... the blister would give if the box took a shock during shipping and snap the laser.
