I always liked the look of the Cygnus from the Black Hole. -
His work is great to look at. I can stare at this thing forever so far and fine new details. Look at the panel lines and weld detail. I bet this thing is just a one off too.

Excellent work john.

Certain info in the HUD disp on the pic should be edited or blurred though.

Have We Ever Seen A Vf-1's Radar?
HWR MKII replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Movies and TV Series
I think theres a quick look at it in Claudias flashback episode in the series. It shows the VF "skinned" . Its the Ep where she is telling Misa how she met Roy. -
MMOOOOOMMMM! HES DOING IT AGAIN!!! Looks great so far. its also a nice change for a character you have done twice already.
-
Actually i think he was referring to SH4 when the hole in the bathroom disappears and you have to open the new one in the laundry room.

In the game unless you know what to do with the plastic bottle and red liquid way early in the game Cybil dies. either way regardless of how she died in the movie or the game the character dies. The end of the movie reminds me of the BAD ending in the game where it turns out harry dies in the jeep crash and all the game was in his head. Rose and sharon are now stuck in the same limbo created by alessa. Its still left open to a sequel. After this though i think a straight version of the second game to film could be done well and would be understood by audiences. It would also allow more room for an explanation of Pyramid head. He was the town executioner back in the founding colonial days of the town.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Added the dirt and grime to it tonight and a spare wheel to the front. I had to rescribe the tread pattern in the spare wheel since i used a kit tire for it. The straps holding it on are just masking tape painted with testors acryl olive drab and cut into strips. The mud is acrylic texture paste mixed with Tamiya olive drab so it gets that proper european dried dusty mud color. This mixture was also applied t the tires and wiped off the tread and outer edge of the tire to simulate a dirty wheel that had been rubbed clean on pavement. Still quite a few things left to do on it.

Yours looks nice for the TV SHOW line art. BUT if you look at all the hasegawa kits they are based of the DYRL line art which was alot slimmer and more refined. I believe SK has signed off on the hase valks himself. it was said somewhere on here.

Good with a dry fit huh... MIKE I NEED A MONSTER!
-
Id like to pay nw if possible. But i cant do a review until im back stateside, unless a dryrun fit of the parts will suffice.

This is whats been haunting my workbench lately. I have been having a rough, slow building period lately so im throwing this together with some extra bits from the modern military spares box. Sorry i havnt posted in this thread for a bit guys. I am seeing alot of great wrk from you though.

I wouldnt mind a pick your own mode kit but just not variable.
-
To put it simply DML is making Tamiya seem like MONOGRAM! The new Tiger, Panzer IV and half track kits are to DIE for. they all come with turned aluminum parts and PE brass. EVEN some preformed brass parts like buckets and skirts for the tiger and armor for the PZ 4. They are also very good at listening to customer feedback they have retooled whole kits in the past simply because it seemed dated in its construction. they are also going back and retooling alot of their kits from 92 and 93 t keep up. Tamiya will be hard pressed t keep the market top now, especially if DML keeps putting out kits with all these extras. When i got the tiger i felt like i bought a 40 dollar detail set and got a plastic model for free with it there was so much stuff. With Tamiya you just get a basic kit for 40 bucks then you have to spend another 40-60 to get the PE and accurate parts for it. Trumpeter is ding the same thing to Hasegawa in the 1/32 scale range. I still think Hase ranks best in the 1/72 scale arena though

Working n a VF-0 battroid with ghost here as well. mine wont be variable though
-
cool just wasnt sure which way that was pointed.
-
I think the VF-0 battroid is the most complicated of the hasegawa macross kits. The mst complex injection molded kit so far has to be either the Fine Molds Milennium Falcon for the sheer number of parts ot the new tank models being made by DML for parts count and options available in a kit. These kits make any tamiya offering look like a toy.

EEEWWWW. Well i d have sme good news. Im getting that cheap SU-27 park flyer this coming sunday so i can get all my crashing done with that. Honestly i wont be bothered by treating the SV the same way Bovington treats their tiger. Pull it out once a year and leave it inside on display the rest of the time. It will be flown but not too often.

Sorry if i came off condecending.
-
So mike hows it coming?
-
If you look in the pics some of the proportions are off too. The chest plate is too wide and the legs are too skinny for battroid mode. Yamato was able to do what they did since it was 1/48 scale and they uase proportions off all 3 modes blended into one to make a really good looking valk. the hase battroids and fighters are quite different in their parts, The variable valk above was done mainly using a fighter with alot of modification, Hase would try to find a way to use the molds they already have and that would result in a badly mis proportioned valk. Personally i am happy with non variable kits since im not one to "play" with my models.

If hasegawa did do that they wouldnt be able to keep that realistic look. If you get the hase battroid kit you can see there was alot of anime magic involved in the transformation.
