  1. I play it too. At least for a few months. I've played City of Heroes/Villains for over 2 years and since this is the company that used to work on CoX, I am going to compare them to the pre-set standard of the CoX franchise. This game is handled completely different than CoX. There are numerous things in this game that need work. Luckily, the creators seem to actually be working on them pretty quickly, something that CoX no longer does in a timely fashion if at all. The game feels a little unpolished, and that's partly b/c they did rush the shipping date after pushing it back once (it should have been pushed back another 2 months or so to really polish it up). Still, the game is fun. To me, it handles a lot like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, except you get to customize your character to look like whatever you want. The developers did kinda short change the female toons in several aspects costume wise for no reason, so hopefully they fix that soon (missing parts that male toons have that aren't gender specific). The power system is almost completely free range. In other words, you pick any power from any power set at any time you choose to after meeting the requirements to unlock it. Basically it works just fine IMO, but makes it kinda hard to have "classes" like traditional MMO's have and I honestly like class based systems. Most toons are gonna be jack of all trades in Champions. The game right now is also mainly built for Solo missions with only a few missions so far (I'm around 20) that require a team to take on. Also, there is no mission bonus for completing a mission if you don't have that mission where as CoX, you got a bonus for helping someone complete any mission. I honestly think that will change soon b/c it makes players not want to team b/c the main xp in the game comes from mission bonuses (like you might get 200xp from a kill, but you get 10,000 for completing a mission that took 10 minutes or less). As far as servers go, it's all on one big server partitioned into "Instances", which are basically like mini-servers. The reason for this is that so many missions take place on the large map instead of "inside", that you don't want more than maybe 100 players on any one map. This is already a small problem b/c people can come along and "steal" a kidnapped person or item box after you do all the fighting making you have to wait for the stuff to respawn. I think it will be fixed soon too b/c it's annoying as hell. All in all, if you like action games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, then give it a try. If you like MMO's, give it a shot. It is one of those love it or hate it types games I think. Oh, and don't get overwhelmed in the character creator like I did (spent about 1.5 hours making my first toon b/c of all the options haha). my global name is protostar8, current character is Proton Roar. Edit: Forgot to mention, I played this since closed beta and it has come a LONG ways in 2 months, so the game has a ton of potential and it seems like the devs might actually be listening to players, something the CoX crew stopped doing LONG ago. Edit 2:Also wanted to mention that if anyone wants to get a feel for how the power set system works, you can download a non-official Champion Character Builder that will let you browse the powers and plan out your character to some extent. Even in game you can "undo" powers if you have enough in game money and you get to play around with any new powers to see if you like them before finalizing the decision to keep the power, which is VERY cool.
  2. Which is still $10 cheaper than BBTS wants BEFORE shipping now that Toynami fell through on the deal. I still think it's cool that Ryo comes with a blank/black body to display the armor.
  3. Well, we can all just hope that the Armor Plus line's version of Tekkaman is better.
  4. If it's the Eureka Seven movie, don't waste your money. It was atrocious.
  5. I don't think we've been dissing assembleborgs. We've been dissing "mini-assembleborgs". They are more or less fixed pose small scale assembleborgs that come with a few of the revoltech toys. I personally think Assembleborgs are a pretty decent off-shoot, just not the "mini" versions.
  6. You're absolutely right. They are pumping out garbage loli-ish crap. I just can't bring myself to believe that the idol characters are big sellers?
  7. I still want revoltech Zone of the Enders figures...
  8. I got one with Gurren and Lagann, but none in my Arc Gurren or Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann. The mini-assembleborgs are absolute jokes. They make me want to not get any assembleborgs. I'd rather have them spend the money they wasted on these developing a real figure.
  9. For anyone that hasn't read the news statement posted at Toyark yet, it looks like Hasbro will likely get screwed in 2017 when their contract is up with Marvel. Maybe by then, they can convince Disney that Mattel has no business making kick-ass comic toys and hopefully Disney will help Hasbro with it's new TV channel project.
  10. I'm confused. Why is everyone so worried about the game and modded PSP's? I've had a modded PSP for a pretty good while now and I haven't really had any problems. Hell, even the new Final Fantasy works fine with my CFW version. DarkAlex was great, but I'm sure he wasn't the only person doing CFW work.
  11. Wow, I'm surprised that it looks like Revoltech was outdone by Bandai on the Arbalest ARX-7. The Robot Damashii version has shoulder parts that Revoltech lacks. Plus the latest magazine scans show that Bandai is doing other Full Metal Panic! figures too. Revoltech's looks nice, but the only way I'll buy it is if the Bandai one turns out to be trash.
  12. Glad to see that Resolute Snake Eyes is getting released (albeit under a different name/line).
  13. Too bad the GBP armor never saw release (to my knowledge at least). It is a fun little toy and I have no regrets getting the Max with Fast Pack armor.
  14. That thing reminds me of Dancouga for some reason...
  15. Unless somewhere puts the Animated stuff on clearance, then I'm happy with my money in my wallet and the little space that's left in my room.
  16. Okay. I thought it was by Bandai, but all I could think of would be their Robot Damashii line. Thanks!
  17. Wasn't there another Tekkaman figure being made too? One without Pegas that was a little bigger? I thought I remembered seeing a picture from a convention of a Robot Damashii Tekkaman, but I'm likely remembering wrong on that one for sure.
  18. When are the Animated Rodimus and Arcee estimated to be released?
  19. Wow, that does look bad. I retract any positive stance I held previously...
  20. Actually, sounds like a fresh concept in a way. Also sounds very Ecchi and sure to be filled with typical Japanese sex jokes...not necessarily a bad thing though!
  21. Just read the news about a new game. I'm running CFW firmware, so I'm not really concerned. I think I'll be able to play the game with no problems. The CFW guys are very good about updates and I've yet to have a problem that wasn't fixed within days of the problem occuring (like with Dynasty Warriors Strike Force). Anyway, can't wait! With this game and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 coming out in/around November, it's gonna be a fun holiday season!
  22. I just finished the game for the first time. I liked the Mako for a planet or two, then it just got obnoxious. It was a fun game, great story, but I don't really see myself playing it again...especially since #2 will likely have very little reason to warrant me devoting more time to this one. Some start-up bonuses just don't draw my attention enough. Hell, I already have a lvl 50 with Spectre X weapons. Not really much higher to climb other than to hit 60 and get better armor.
  23. Thanks. I actually figured it out yesterday. It's pretty complex in a way. Did some Super Packs and a Strike Pack too, around 300 bricks total. Alpha, Beta, SDF-1 are around 100-150 bricks each. Gonna have to figure out how to buy the lego's now (or at least which seller on brickling to buy them from)...
  24. Yeah, I liked the models a bunch, but the issue was the weak polycap joints that would tear a month or so after I got them. I'd love to see a MegaMan X figure in the same style as the "festival exclusive" figure.
  25. Heck, I'd take MMX and Zero Models with joints that didn't break if you look at them the wrong way...
