  1. I think ADV's SDF Macross dub used Animeigo's remastered video. If's so, then HG definitely has posession of it now. I agree that SDF Macross probably wouldn't benefit from an HD release. But there's nothing to stop ADV from dumping the SD master onto a Bluray disc and selling it as is.
  2. Why not? It would another opportunity for ADV / Harmony Gold to milk the SDF Macross license again. The only thing I wonder is just how much will the old SDF Macross footage be able to take advantage of the Bluray format.
  3. I think a 1/60 Regult would be around the size as Yamato's 1/60 Q-Rau. And since the Q-Rau retailed for about $80, I'd imagine a Regult would sell for a similiar price. IMO, I wouldn't pay $80 for a 1/60 Regult. The only reason I bought the Q-Rau was that it was on clearance for $40.
  4. twich, definitely contact Sony about this one. If you have a 60gb version, see if they can repair your system and mail it back to you. Or, if they direct you to the location you bought it from, make sure that place still has 60's left. You don't want to risk getting your 60gb version getting replaced with a gimped 40gb or 80gb version.
  5. Do you unplug your PS3 from the power outlet when it's not in use? Mine would do that if I left it unplugged for a while. My guess is that the PS3 stores it's settings in battery backed memory, so if the battery completely loses it's charge then you lose your settings. Now I just keep mine plugged into a surge proctector 24/7 and it's never lost its settings since. Even though the PS3 is completely off, I guess it's still drawing a slight charge from the outlet to keep the battery charged.
  6. According to the drama CD that VF5SS referenced, Millard did serve in Skull Squadron. The only question is whether the drama CD is considered canon.
  7. I think the problem with the 1/60 Q-rau was balance. It's a tall mecha with a huge hump on it's back, so it's relatively narrow feet wouldn't allow much in the way of poses. The 1/60 Tomahawk is shorter than a 1/60 VF-1 and has pretty big feet, so it shouldn't have any balance issues. However, by it's nature, the Tomahawk isn't a dynamic mecha so don't expect it to be doing any Revoltech poses.
  8. My stock communicator is 6 months old and still going strong. I use it on a regular basis, but will admit that it does feel cheap. The xbox1 headset will work on a 360 controller, as will a wired cell phone headset. I've still got a great 3rd party headset ($20 too) that I used on my xbox1, so if my stock 360 headset dies I'll just go back to that one.
  9. It's not unreasonable to imagine that there could be more than 1 black pilot in Skull squadron at that time.
  10. Thanks for posting those pics charger69, now we can really make out the fine details. I'm no expert on planes, but it looks like Yamato really went overboard with the weathering. If Yamato added some battle damage, this would make an excellent battle damaged Roy. As it is, it looks like Roy just flew through a Zentraedi chimney stack. Good news guys, you now have one less person to worry about when bidding for these on ebay.
  11. When did I say that I had a problem with large scale dolls?
  12. Sumdumgai's right, some of CM's little 4 inch Minmay figures are actually really good representations. It's ironic because Minmay's been around for over 25 years, yet no big name toy or garage kit maker has ever done her right. The best one I've seen is Ryuji's version, and it's not because of the fan service. Even if you lowered her slit down to where it should be, it would still be IMO the best Minmay model kit out there. Yamato's made some excellent fixed pose statues in the past, I was surprised that they went with a posable doll this time.
  13. A US release? It's never going to happen again. I guess now would be a good time to re-open the old Robotech / Macross licensing thread?
  14. WTF? The Wii can't read dual-layer games if the lens is dirty and only Nintendo can properly clean the lens? I call shenanigans on this one. Keeping in mind that the Wii is essentially an overclocked GameCube, it probably uses a very similiar lens as the GC. And since the GC didn't need to worry about reading dual-layer DVD's given it was designed to only read mini-DVD's, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo opted for a cheaper lens back then to keep costs down. Now that decision has come back to haunt them? That's the best guess I can come up with. What I still don't understand is why it's happening to some Wii's and not others. Good luck Gaijin.
  15. The exposed joints ruin the doll. Yamato should've gone for a fixed pose PVC/plastic figure instead, it wouldn't take much effort to best ARII's old plastic Minmay statues/figures.
  16. Looks good to me, glad to see you went with the white hull over the blue tinted one. It just never looked right to me.
  17. Obviously, HD textures are going to take up a lot of space on the disc, but I think what makes this game 50 gigs is all the uncompressed audio. There's nothing like hearing Snake get into a 1 hour monologue about his fifth grade science fair project, all in the middle of heated boss battle.
  18. Should the acrobatic team have red sensor pieces (assuming that's what they are) on their heads? From this picture, it seems that the sensor is usually similiar in color to the stripe. Yes yes, this is from the Viz manga, but all their covers appear to be made from official marketing materials and cropped screenshots. From the look of the manga, Viz spent little manpower on it, so I doubt this is a Viz color scheme. Contractually, the covers may have been limited to what Big West provided them. edit: I mean manga, not comic
  19. What gets me is that the game takes up a whopping 25 gigs (or 50 if it's dual layer).
  20. Bundling MGS4 with the PS3 is a very smart move on Sony's part. In other news, the US version isn't going to have the option to select Japanese voices, presumably because the game fills up an entire BD disc? http://ps3.qj.net/Hideo-Kojima-Blu-ray-doe...g/49/aid/114921
  21. You may laugh now, but these things used to sell for over $100 years ago.
  22. MacII wasn't truncated. I have the original 1992 LD's and after the credits roll on episode 1 there's an advertisement listing the release schedule for the remaining 5 episodes. Nowhere is there any mention of a 7th episode. More likely, the plot holes were intentionally unfullfilled to leave room for a possible sequel.
  23. OMG, I hope that story is fake, because if it's true then it's a travesty. I've heard of people getting back dirty replacements from Microsoft, so it would seem that cleaning the plastic cases isn't part of their standard service, therefore someone with a sick sense of humor really went out of his or her way to scrub down that case.
  24. I've got to admit, the game looks much better in motion. The exagerated proportions actually fit the large characters like Blanka and Zangief, but it still looks jarring when applied to normal characters like Ken and Ryu. It's kinda difficult to judge gameplay from watching videos, but it looks to simpler than 3rd Strike, but that's to be expected. Rather than cater to die-hard SF fans, Ono is definitely trying to rope in a new generation of fans.
  25. Heh, is it any coincidence that Roy's is the first VF to be sold with a shot glass?
