  1. Man, you can simulate rust like nobody's business! All that suff looks amazing! Can't wait to see it all together.
  2. My kits arrived yesterday. Looks like some amazing detail and very clean molding. It goes without saying, but this is a tremendous improvement over the old styrene kits. No cool CA artwork box and no cool CA special naming convention though. Thanks to both of you for working on getting this kit made and available. It is quite cool.
  3. Here's one I did a while back. I started with an old kit of an F4D Skyray and modified it to be a UAV in the Macross Universe. Kind of an early version of the "Ghost". I think I finally added some decals after I took these pics, but I'd have to dig it out of the closet 'o doom and check.
  4. Yeah, the darn camera can really bring out some stuff that you don't see with the old MK-1 eyeball. It's nothing to fret over for sure. Just something that I thought you could try out. The kit looks great and having a kit finished is great in and of itself! I know I'm happy when I (rarely) get a kit completed! So, what's next on the bench?
  5. I can understand that! I've got a closet full of kits (a big closet) and I still keep buying more. Anyway, keep an eye out over at SSM. I'll bet they will carry the Stratos kit. They had the regular one a while back.
  6. Looks great! I love all the extra stenciling markings and the firing missles look really cool! One small suggestion, a nice, fairly strong wash around the bases of the chest missiles will really help to visually seperate them from the body of the mech. Hope that helps. Now I just have to find time to get one of my Moscato kits built and hope it comes out as good as yours!
  7. It looks like Airfix is going to release a kit of this plane. Don't know a release date yet, but if you can wait, your build may be much easier! Good luck with the project!
  8. These are sweet! Great work on those. The detail belies the small scale. It's a neat and unusual color scheme for Valks. I like!
  9. Ooooh! I hope I didn't miss my chance for this. Please put me on the list for a 1/2500 kit. PM sent!
  10. Lookin good! I love the Razorback scheme! I can't wait to see it on this big bird. Keep up the great job and thanks for all of the pics.
  11. No build-up here I don't think, but there's one over at SSM Hopefully that will help you out. Can't wait to see your WIP.
  12. Super cool project and you are moving along very quickly! It really is amazing how a coat of paint can bring it all together. It looks really smooth! Can't wait to see this completed!
  13. That color looks real good. Why don't you just put a clear gloss coat over it instead of removing it and redoing it with another paint coat? The clear gloss coat will help protect the color coat as well.
  14. Looking very cool. This and the flagship are my favorite Zent designs. The scout looks like a sleek cutter. Fast and maneuverable. Until it gets hit by a blast from the SDF-1's main cannon that is!
  15. That pattern looks great on this ship! Especially in fighter mode. That's a great way to spruce up a cheapie knockoff. Great job man!
  16. Congrats on the new baby! Best wishes and God bless to the whole family! Enjoy those little ones as much as you can. They really make life wonderful! (and busy! )
  17. I've never noticed any tinting from the blue window cleaner. I don't worry about having the exact FS color match when painting, but even when painting white I haven't had any problems. I also use it to thin the Testor's acrylics with no problems there either.
  18. Looks like you did a great job on that kit! I've always liked it's proportions in all three modes, but especially Battroid. It really was an amazing kit for it's day. That gerwalk is nice too. IMHO, the stock nose and hands are the only drawbacks to it.
  19. It's not one of my favorite mechs, but that looks great! Your finishing really makes it look like it has some nice "weight" to it. One question, is the texture on the shin guard parts molded into the kit parts, or did you have to add it yourself during the finishing/painting stage?
  20. Good job for one of your first kits. It's a pretty clean build with a smooth paint job. As long as you're having fun, then you're doing it right! That kit is the best of the 1/100 battroid mode kits from way back when. I've got a couple sitting in the stash. Some of the other battroid kits have a very stiff look to them. (although they do look similar to much of the battroid's appearance in the anime) It's really great to see some of these old kits getting some love in the forums. Keep it up guys!
  21. That looks really good! Your brush painted areas look good. The landing gear are very nice. And, I really like the results you got on the missiles. The main color seems spot on as well, a great choice! You did quite a nice job on that kit. They are good kits to just have some fun with. Those fighter mode kits are probably the best of the 1/100 scale kits of that generation. They have pleasing proportions. They also have three things that I just hate. 1-The heads don't look like anything that you see anywhere in the anime. 2-There are no pilots! It's not like you can pick up very many aftermarket pilots in 1/100 scale! 3-The decals tend to be terrible. Not just the printing, but they are thick and don't stick that well either.
  22. I use window cleaner (Windex etc.) to thin Tamiya or Testor's acrylics and I haven't had any problems. It's easy to dispense and mix and it's quite cheap. I also use it to clean the airbrush.
  23. Take your time Mike. I'm sure anyone who is interested in this will stick around for it. Hey, best wishes for your new family addition. It sounds like the Good Lord is giving you an amazing gift this Christmas!
  24. Looks really great, and I love the base! Thanks for showing it off!
  25. David, I'd suggest you give Vallejo's clear flat a try. I haven't actually brushed the clear flat, but I have tried several of the colors and they have worked very nicely. They give a much nicer result with a brush than Tamiya or Testor's acrylics.
