  1. I expect a lot out of this line this time around. The collector's toy industry is totally different now. There is really no comparison. Demand has grown globally. The market for specialty figures was smaller back then And Tamashi is a much more serious about their business.
  2. hmm... The pics on Hobby Gen show the UN Spacy tampos. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10344021
  3. Here are the pics which I deleted by accident.
  4. Interested to know about your battery setup inside that kit. I am finding that multiple LEDs really drain batteries fast, especially since we can't fit a 9 volt battery in these kits. I have tried stringing three small 3v batteries. But the drain is very fast, even with resistors.
  5. I've seen some old Tomy valks on Yahoo Auctions Japan. I think they were sold as small inexpensive toys.
  6. At least I think you have invented some new silver metallic colors!
  7. Here is some Zentran love. I'm looking for some ideas on how to temporarily seal the hull on a capital ship after electric wiring inside. For smaller scale builds like this 1/20000 Arii kit, if I glue the seam line closed, I wont be able to access the wiring later. Any links or tips appreciated.
  8. There should be a dojin about you guys. Sorta Genshiken X Macross X Gaijin Crash. I would read it...
  9. I'm betting (hoping) Arcadia will reissue the 1/24.
  10. Good solution with the vertical launch arm to take the weight. Horizontal arms from DYRL often seem unwieldy. Gives me ideas...
  11. That's the best lookin Spartan I have seen. I like how you captured the metallic finish with the coating and the harder edges...These are supposed to be heavy armor after all. Too often the Spartan looks like a green blob of plastic rather than a kick-ass fighting machine.
  12. Which makes me wonder why they can't factor in more tampo with the higher pricetag? Perhaps the whole tampo process needs more reliable technology to be developed.
  13. I am seeing those as DYRL Hikaru versions. Would prefer a SDF Hikaru 1J schem with less black.
  14. Brings to mind Mr. K's recent interview and the amount of waste product to produce these. Heartbreaking to think so much gets junked just from mis-aligned tampo. (One reason they may have reduced tampo on recent releases?) At the end of the day, this is just a glorified garage kit maker with all the pluses and minuses.
  15. This scheme is awesome. But too dark for my taste as Hikaru. On the other hand I also found the Roy 29 too dark, so its a matter of p4eferences.
  16. I'm not too worried. These DX reissues as well as the Hi-Metal R have been fairly easy to find after release dates. You can already get the YF-29 on Ebay for USD 160.
  17. Would you be able to cover up the painted chest and then soak it in peroxide? I am interested in your method because I have some yellowed chogokin to restore as well. I've read some How To's on the web, just very scared to try it and damage the existing paint, although they say you can cover it with masking tape.
  18. My children don't get into the slower classics, but really enjoy the Sherlock Hound Eng Dub...8-10yr olds.
  19. I'm using Testors Cement for clear parts, but find it really doesn't hold. Anyone have advice?
  20. Thanks. Here is an update on the test wiring of the motor was successful, so now I can start with the actual build Of course there are other amazing builds out there, but my idea is to share all the details for others just starting out on electric wiring. I do have to say that while its fun to wire and light up your toys, the biggest challenge is waiting for parts to arrive in the mail! Props to MechTech for his support.
  21. It does look good to me. I'm not a line art fanatic.
