1. Can someone explain what's up with the new shipping method that Nippon Yasan is promoting lately? It is called Transi Logistic and seems to be a European Union thing only. Has anyone experience with this? They also claim to be able to deliver without custom fess legally.
2. You can rotate the tip of the stand I know that but I would rather have a stand where the stand is always under the toy itself. It just looks better and I have a better feeling displaying it like that. Frankly I really like the Bandai stands that come with the Renewal VFs. They might look ugly but you don't have to take the plane apart to mount it because attaching the Fighter-Mode piece on the VF-1 is just scary. And why is the gun-pod of the VF-1 so damn close to the connector piece? I don't want to display it with the gun-pod attached because either it is under pressure of the stand piece or it is angled. It is a good stand but it has just too many issue that let me scratch my head. I still like to touch it once and a while because the plastic feels so good. Don't say anything I know it is creepy.
3. The question is why is the "regular" VF-19 from M7 a F and the "regular" VF-17 a D? Did something happen during the development of the VF-19 that lead to more variants of the Excalibur?
4. Does this picture indicate that the panel in front of the canopy is painted black (the one that scratches easily on the 30th Anniversary) or is it only a shadow cast by the Valkyrie? If it is painted does that mean Bandai will cast the piece in white and paint it black just because they are evil. On a second thought the nosecone could be cast in black plastic and painted white because I don't see any other white parts. Hm strange I really like the white nosecone as a highlight. I'm sure it will look good in Battroid-Mode too.
5. I just had an idea. And because this is the Internet and I'm totally self centered I have to share it even if you don't care about it. Arcadia make me an Aquarion that can transform and can stand up! Show Bandai how to design this toy like a boss! Seriously I would buy it.... ....probably!
6. Now that I had time to fiddle with the toy a bit more I really see some lost potential in the stand. I still love how the pieces of the stand feel when I handle them but I have some thoughts how the stand would be better. 1. Make the base a bit longer so you can sink the main strut of the arm into the middle of the base which would create sort of a launch deck of an aircraft carrier. The support strut can be stored in the compartments so it is all neat and tidy. 2. Add an additional joint in front of the connection to the support strut so that the plane can roll. It could be as simple as the piece where the stand adapter attaches to. Maybe beef it up a bit so the toy is save. 3. Add an additional rotation joint int the main arm behind the connector of the support strut so that we can pose the Valkyrie as it launches with a steep ascent from the deck of the carrier. I have it display in a way where the main arm is hanging off the other and of the base and the support strut fills in the gab in the middle to fake the look of a flight deck but I like my stands as I like my transforming toys: sleek, self-contained and intricate. [edit:] I have to add that the base looks like a dustpan right now and I don't like that.
7. Yeah I know this one but after looking at it several times I still cannot imagine what the head looks like.
8. I like the Human Alliance toys and the ROTF Leader Class Prime. I still have them even if they don't fit into my collection anymore. The transformation of the ROTF Prime is one of the best I've ever seen on a toy.
9. I actually like the dark blue tint of the clear parts. They go well with the color of the Valkyrie. However I would liked it even more because as it seems the lights in the wing roots are purple. Regarding the head I think it looks like the chin area is similar to the turret on the VF-25S and it has some kind of visor where the "eyes" are. We need definitely more images of the head turret. [edit:] I don't know how I feel about the pale yellow SMS signs. I think I would prefer the orange yellow from the VF-25. It could be the same color because if I remember correctly the one on the Ozmas plane was a bit lighter then the rest of them. I can't check on mine because it is covered in armor.
10. Wasn't this the Prime shown on an image from a toy show? I mean since than it was pretty clear that it would be a giant shellformer with lots of kibble everywhere.
11. True, but I would rather have the YF-30 than Ozmas YF-29. However what I heard from the Isamu release of the Durandal Bandai tighten up the mold so I might order one if I can get a preorder in. The market seems to be cooled down a but after the last regular release but it's Ozma so you never know.
12. If this is released in May does that indicate that the YF-30 will be sold much later this year? I honestly thought the YF-30 would be next.
13. Well something must be clearly wrong with kids those days. I remember when I was a kid I was always bummed out when the transformation was too simple or when they could not get in the poses on the box. I had a few of the Menasor limbs and I was not pleased that the arms can only rotate 90 degrees. So I think it is a good thing that I don't collect any Transformers toy lines except the Takara Masterpieces and some third party stuff. I'm sure that Mr. Goldner knows what he's doing. On the other hand I just finished a 1000 pieces jigsaw puzzle and I can tell for sure that it was much more complex that any of my transforming toys. [edit: ] Now I have to search for the corresponding thread on TFW2005 and see what the reasonable people over there have to say about that.
14. I find it curious why only TFSource and BBTS seem to stock the MP Grimlock. None of the other etailers I checked (and know off) have this release. So I second that: Not sure what's up with that.
15. Am I the only one that thinks that the poster is giving too much away? The conspirator in me thinks this is a hoax. On the other hand this poor use of an image manipulator program might explain why the Yamcadia boxes are lacking compared to Bandais or Hasegawas efforts and is indeed real.
16. The media-tags don't work? e.g.
17. Thanks for the input. With all this helpful comments I think I can transform it safely now. Another thing. Is there any trick to align the doors of the landing gear so that they don't look out of whack?
18. Upon closer inspection I found a missing painted on detail on my VF-1S Hikaru Custom. The paint for the position light on the left tail fin is missing. It is not that obvious because the tip of the fin is also red so it is hard to spot. I assume they both should be red like on the Focker Custom. I might have to send it back to HLJ depending if they can replace it. [edit: ] The HLJ website shows the Hikaru as discontinued. So I have to paint it myself if it stats bothering me. Any idea what color to use.
19. But she's got a new hat! *screams*
20. After the whole customs shenanigans (they are gonna charge me storage costs). I finally had the chance to handle a Yamcadia V2 VF-1. I have to say I'm very pleased with the toy. I also like the stand a lot. I can't tell what it is exactly but something about the weight, the hue of the plastic and the feel when touching it that is just right. They look really like a pristine piece of toy goodness. I think I'm impressed by the VF-1 more that I am with any other toy in my collection. Yes, this include my VF-19S. As a nitpick some of the missile clusters are loose and the stand needs another pivot point in the main strut so the Valkyrie can roll properly. Oh and out of the box many joints are so stiff that it was scary to transform it for the first time. I have a few questions regarding transformation and stuff I noticed. How do I transform the backpack so that the hinge doesn't break? The way I figured out to go from Fighter- to Gerwalk-Mode is to push the whole backpack assembly down so it goes below the backplate and then folding it 180 degree so it rests against the backplate. Is this the correct way to do it? Then for the fix posed hands. The gun holding hand grips the handle of the gun-pod so firm that I fear I tear the gun apart when I want to remove it. Any thoughts about that? The problem seems to be that there is a peg molded into the hand that goes into the slot in the handle. That way it creates a death grip. Transforming the VF-1 back to fighter mode is there a trick to rotate the shoulder hinges into position? The way I understand it they should be perpendicular to the shoulder blocks in their final position. I tried to do that through pushing the arms forward but that way it seems to create a lot of pressure onto the shoulder hinges so I'm not sure if this is the best way to do it.
21. Incidentally my first experience with Front Mission was also FM3. Funny! I should finish this game some day before my PS2 decide to break up on me. To bad there is no way to port ones collection over to the newer systems without buying the games again and again or having to rely on crappy ports. *shakes his fist in anger for the version of FF6 on the PS store* So has anyone a recommendation what FM games to pick up that have the same look and feel that part three had?
22. To I received my MP Soundwave yesterday and I have an issue with his left thigh joint. It seems unable to ratchet one click back. It's really scary because I fear it will break like the knee joints on my MP-09B because it looks fairly similar. Now the thigh is always at this weird angle. Has anyone had the same issue? I guess I have to take it apart an see whats wrong with it. Maybe sanding done the pin of the ratchet. As a general observation I'm once again slightly disappointed by the MP figures from Takara. Especially the gate marks stand out. They just look terrible to me. The one on the thighs are stand out the most I guess. The whole figure feels a bit off. I think of all of my MP figures MP-10B is still the best even if he has the limited articulation. My MP Streak is a great toy also but he has the painted on tail lights and the red plastic just feels wrong for a high end toy. Luckily you can't see the red plastic that much in bot-mode. After all this nitpicks I have to say that it is a fun toy to play with and honestly I play with my MP Transformers much more then I do with my collector Macross toys. I really like the double jointed elbows and knees. Even if I think that they are only there because of transformation and to allow for the gimmick to operate his own tape deck instead of allowing for a expressive toy. Also Condor is a great little treat (he also has gate marks that bother me to no end). I often think that I'm the only person that is bothered by the quality of the Takara Masterpiece toys. Of course it doesn't help that I received my first Aracdia VF-1S at the same day because they are just awesome.
23. Actually flying a plane is very easy. As someone mentioned in this thread there are planes that basically fly on their own because they are so stable. The tricky part is to start and land safely on your own. Of course the auto pilot on modern aircrafts can do that as well (if I remember that episode of Myth Busters correctly). Once you are airborne there is the flight stick, the foot pedals and the thrust lever that you need to navigate the plane. Of course this is a simplified view of the world but you can fly the right kind of plane with a flight instructor and no basic knowledge without endangering everyone around you. I think the hardest part of flying is to learn all the rules and regulations.
24. Well the MP-13B Soundblaster is a black repaint of Soundwave with Ratbat as a new figure. http://www.nippon-yasan.com/lang-en/figures-transformers/5832-transformers-masterpiece-mp13b-soundblaster.html However I think this hardly qualifies as the Autobot know as Blaster. Trypticon would be quite awesome but it would be too big done in the style of their Omega Supreme. At least for my collection. Wasn't his alt-mode in WfC a giant orbital cannon of death?
25. Don't you dare destroy my hopes and dreams!
