Oh man, I just got the notification that my BBTS PoL must be shipped soon (around 1st of June) I hope MMCs Backdraft is available till then. Does anyone know how the due date of the PoL works exactly. Is is exactly 180 days or 6 months? So for example if my PoL was created on the first of January 2016 is the due date the first of July or the 28th of June 2016?- 9279 replies

Can you rotate the purple inlay for the faction symbol? If it is just pegged into a similar hole than on the other leg it should be doable no? I think Sphinx is two hip ratchets away from being an almost perfect rendition of what I imagine a Masterpiece Transformers line should be.- 9279 replies

I would say they are relatively easy to remove. However due to the high parts count it will take a while to get them replaced. The most annoying part are the attachment of the massive wing boosters and the fact that the chest plate likes to pop off during handling. There are also delicate parts, like the mounts for the reaction missiles, so you need to be focused when handling them.

Have you tried making Blindfire into his bird fan-mode? Now that I saw that Carnifex video I really hope for an MMC IDW Megatron and Black Shadow to have them altogether on a shelf.- 9279 replies

Preview of MMCs Carnifex: Freaking awesome. Love the underside of the jet but I'm disappointed he doesn't have double jointed elbows and more articulation in the knees. The tank doesn't have to do a bunch so I think there would be enough room for a MG Gundam style knee joint. Maybe it was sacrificed for the base-mode. I'm super hyped though. If they include the two Godmasters I will be more than happy even if the default IDW Overloard is enough to make me happy. Maybe they could to some IDW styled Dreadwind and Darkwing. I know Maketoys are doing them but I'm not convince they will deliver a great toy if they decide to use a real F-16 for Dreadwind.- 9279 replies

While I wouldn't go full itasha on the VF-31 it would be nice if they have a small icon of the associated Idol on their Valkyrie.

I really love the full armored up mode on Metal Storm. I actually think the feet/boosters give him a great heft. He reminds me vaguely of the Teran Cruisers from Starcraft. It also gives the rifles a more secure connection. What I don't understand is the fact that there is no storage for the handle of the combined gun. I think it would be relatively easy to give the main gun a small compartment where it could store. Regarding Pandinus. Skullface transformed the cockpit incorrectly it seems. The head sits much further down on the scorpion and the Headmaster can see through the translucent cockpit window. If I had more funds I would be totally on board with everything Maketoys does (except for their masterpiece style figures). Also while he and Utopia look good they are way to big for my likings even if they seem to be pretty solid and not a hollow mess. Plus I have no room to display them.- 9279 replies

Are there any add-on parts that do that? From the top of my head I can only remember the YF-21/VF-22 but it is a shell former so I'm not sure if this is a good example. Especially since the Packs are so minuscule in appearance.

On a transforming toy you could probably get slimmer looking carrier arms by folding the launch decks down. That might look even better. -
I hope Bandai continues with painting the white circle around the red portion of the warhead of the micro missiles for the opening pods. This is the one thing I'm severely missing form the YF-29 and (I think) the Renewal Tornado Packs. From the top view the Super Siegfried (love that name) looks stunning.

I liked it a lot but I still can't get over how stupid the thing with Hayate not wearing a helmet is. I know Basara never wore a helmet but it still looks dumb while his teammates all wear helmets. In episode 6 is was pretty glaring when he came to the rescue of Mirage and in one scene you see her helmeted face and in the next you see Hayate with no helmet. I think I would have an easier time when Hayate had a holographic cockpit like the Aerial Knights but I guess this would be too far of a stretch. -

For the individual bots the ToyWorld construction combiner is clearly the winner. Especially with the way the threads work on the legs of the arm bots. He has also a better shade of purple than the GT one. However I'm not sold on the lanky torso of the ToyWorld combiner. I'm still waiting on getting a deal on Green Giant. Maybe TFSource will have him up on this years Black Friday sale like they did for Quantron last year.- 9279 replies

I'm disappointed that Bandai doesn't continue with the RG Endless Waltz line. After seeing the teaser for the Wing Zero Gundam I was happy that they displayed concept art for the other suites. Maybe the Wing Zero didn't sell well enough to warrant releases of the other Gundams.

Sorry I misunderstood your description because normally people complain that Sonic Drill is difficult to transform. I can understand the issues. This is what I meant when I talked about designer toys. The canopy transformation is something you would not find on a retail transformer. Especially when it takes that many steps and the end-result is not convincing. The same goes for other parts of Quantron for example the combiner head that just hangs there on the back of Metal Storm. What I appreciate is that it feels different compared to retail transformers. The dense plastic with the matte finish and the unfamiliar movements combined with articulation that you normally don't get from transforming robots that big is a great treat for me. Combine that with the drill (who can split appart) and the under-slung probes/guns I'm really satisfied when handling Sonic Drill. I think there is a fine line between unfamiliar movements and finicky transformation when it goes into the not-fun direction. Many of the X-Transbots toys have this where the way the parts slide besides each but don't to this is a smooth movement. You can see this for example in the arms and legs of X-Transbots Tailgate. Even companies like Fanstoys haven't perfected the precise engineering that is necessary to make a transformation fun. The torso transformation on their Willis (Hound) is a good example where it is just not quite right. I feel this is something that Takara gets mostly right on their Masterpiece Transformers and 3rd party companies struggle with more often than not. It takes time and experience to get it right. This is one thing that I like about MMC where in the past they had those finicky parts like on their Cyclopse or the feet transformation on the Feral Rex limbs but now got better with their latest releases (for example Commotus). It is hard to describe what makes or breaks great transformation/handling on a toy but at least I tried.- 9279 replies

Well it would be no parts forming if the toy could transform through all three modes without removing any piece. The same goes for the hip-thingy armor piece on the VF-25. They don't need to be removed for transformation but you have to replace them when you go from Bare to Super Messiah. I think adding extra wings with parts of the booster mount added to them for a secure connection is probably the best solution if Bandais engineerings weren't aware of the Super Parts early on. Since they showed the prototypes early on (especially the SV-626) I assume they must work together with the designers of the mecha from the beginning. Maybe it doesn't need extra wings and the toy designers came up with a clever mechanism to provide a secure connection.

I love Sonic Drill he is just an awesome little transforming toy. He is the best part of Quantron. I can understand why you are not liking him but I think the transformation is not nearly as hard as some of the people making it out to be especially if you gave him a few rounds of play. Of course many collectors who own him transform him once and then combine him and on the shelf he goes so I can see where the frustration comes from. As I stated earlier I'm not a Transformers super fan so I could care less about how much he resembles Nosecone I just find his colors striking. Did you get the replacement parts with Quantron Mike?- 9279 replies
