  1. I finally got my YF-29 from NY through customs. I have to say it is in a much nicer shape than my YF-29 30th Anniversary that I got also from NY a few years ago. The 30th Anniversary feels like they send me a unit that they got sent back due to too many QC issues. It has mis-molded parts, plenty of paint issues and super loose hip joints. Of course the marking on the shoulder of the Alto one says SWS. I've opened a new ticket with NY and try to get an answer out of them.... I really wished I had the chance to get a preorder in with HLJ or CDJ. I hope the Delta Valkyries don't sell out in a heartbeat so I can order from my preferred retailers. It is additional sad that the package was caught by customs so I had to pay an extra $45 of fees and sales tax. -.-
  2. Review of MakeToys Vulcan and Guardia: I'm not agreeing with Bobby Skullfaces assessment of the 3rd party scene. While it might be true that Masterpiece alike toys are selling better than other stuff I think the reimagening of Transformers characters like Guardia is what they should do. The Masterpiece craze might be over someday so I think going the route of own design would lead to a more stable and loyal customer base. Sadly I think I'm in the minority here.
  3. Spectacular episode. Loved every second. I think it was good that the last episode was a bit more lighthearted so we could go neck deep into melodrama in this one.

    Bandai DX VF-31

The folded-up radar dish looks better than I would have imagined it. I like!
  5. I think it is unlikely that the PT shield will change for the finished product. All my hopes lie in a second non-transforming shield piece like Bandai includes with their SoC releases.
  6. I think it is not as good as M7 yet. But I'm a huge Macross 7 fan.
  7. I envy you. A Gurren Lagann is missing in my collection. What is the current going rate for the Riobot? I guess the Konami High Impact toy is impossible hard to get nowadays.
  8. Not really interested in that Blue Frame variant.

    Bandai DX VF-31

It seems like the shields of the Super Parts are pegged into the hard points on the forearms. I hope that the introduce other forearm add-ons that include some sort of weapon. Like a mini-missile launcher or a grenade magazine.

    Bandai DX VF-31

No info on the Metal Build Blue Frame? Bummer! Yay Mirage
  11. What is missing are only Valkyries in a roughly 1/60 scale from either Yamato/Arcadia and Bandai. Purely based on what was produced till now The only thing I really miss in my collection is a VF-11C to have one of each mold produced and a set of Super Strike Parts. What is severely missing is a die cast hip bar from a Bandai Renewal Valkyrie so I can patch my VF-25A together. Other stuff that is missing from a variant complete collection standpoint (I probably don't have enough room and budget to ever complete this list:
  12. I think that RotF is easily the worst entry in the Bayformers line. They got (very very) slightly better afterwards. On the other hand they also got longer and longer. To a point where I was begging Age of Extinction to be over because I was getting dehydrated at the end of that movie with no escape. Making 90 minute movies seems to be a lost art nowadays.
  13. I think a regular retail release of the VF-11C would result in more shelf warming toys. However I could see a limited run based on upfront orders being successful. The demand for the VF-11C is there just not in the quantities of a full scale release. I really wish Arcadia would do a bit more with build to order Valkyries. I for sure would order one.
  14. Look what showed up from Mandarake today: Waiting for one at a good price a whole while. It is such a nice toy. Much better build quality than todays Transformers toys. He has limited articulation range and a stupid auto transform gimmick but he looks stunning. The gun metal gray paint and metallic highlights on him are gorgeous. His weapons are a bit lacking but make a nice alt-mode. I'm now one Animated Cliffjumper away from complete my Animated collection. Maybe I will switch Skywarp with Animated Skywarp when I find him. Now onward to my next black and teal Prime/Convoy repaint (and RID Scourge).
  15. I want a VF-11C so bad but it is too expensive!
  16. Somehow (with MMC posing Carnifex together with Star Saber) I got the idea in my head that Carnifex could be re-molded into an IDW Star Saber. The general shape is there but they would have to redesign certain parts. I think one thing that needs to be done is making sure that the legs transform in one go from the sides of the plane without the need of being detached. The rest could be done by a re-shelling like Hasbro did with CW Rook into CW Swindle. There are a bunch of problems like IDW Star Saber doesn't have a base mode but I think that could be easily abandoned since the base mode of Carnifex is not really thought out based on the prototype pictures. I also might be giving 3rd Party companies too much credit of what they are able to do. The cost breakdown of a complete re-shelling is probably different between HasTak and a small toy producer.
  17. I don't find the articulation of MP-10 that impressive. MP-01 had at least double jointed knees. MP-10 has neither double jointed knees nor double jointed elbows. No ab crunch, shoulder articulation is limited, same goes for the thigh swivel. Don't get me wrong MP-10 is probably one of the best Masterpiece Transformers Takara has ever done but articulation is none if his strong points. I'm still sad every time Takara releases a Masterpiece that doesn't follow the mission the revamp of the Masterpiece line set out to fulfill.
  18. Watched episode 6 again and you are right about the transforming speaker pods. Missed them completely the fist time around.
  19. I stand corrected. Guess I have to watch the episode again.
  20. Great screencaps. Now I'm curious how the speaker pod transforms (if it transforms at all). Maybe it is a space only add-on that doesn't need to be transformed. Or it folds down around a strut that also holds the beam gun-pod in place. Maybe the VF-31 will look much more like the Armored Messiah when the projector pod is folded up.
  21. Wasn't this foreshadowed in the first episode of Delta? If I remember correctly you can see the guy blowing himself up at the very beginning eating an apple and throwing away a bottle of water? I have to watch it again to make sure .
  22. While I agree with your assessment you could probably rationalize the inclusion of the others (namely Hayate and Freya) with that being some sort of training mission. Chaos probably never thought they would get into deep trouble while scouting the planet and if would give them valuable experience for future missions. I can totally believe that the rest of Delta Squadron and Walkrure are trained soldiers (much like say AKB0048) who know what they are doing. Of course it had to go haywire since it has to be entertaining. I think sending teenage boys and girls onto a dangerous mission is the logical flaw to begin with but we are talking about an anime. So in my head they are all 10 years older. Which is a good rule of thumb when watching this stuff.
