  1. Paint over them with Intermediate Blue (FS 35164). I've used the Model Master version and can say with certainty that its a perfect match. Now all I need are the appropriate markings and I can get on with my next custom .
  2. I've never seen part 3, only snippets of part 1, but part 2 by itself is a great movie. There's some great 80's retro thrash music and awesome mech designs in there (I still want a model of B.D.'s mech). Incidentally, the character designs were done by Y. Umetsu, who also worked on the Gatchaman remake and KITE. It seems only EVE kept her original Mikimoto design. I don't think you have to worry about being flooded by fanboys, MilliaJenius03. The young'uns out there will just think you're another green-haired anime chica.
  3. They're close to the original manga's designs. Although Motoko's lingerie suit was exclusive to the video game.
  4. Oh man, Orion. I couldn't understand what was going on the first time I read through that book, and there are still some story elements which remain cloudy. His little side notes left throughout the book were informative, but added more stuff to look up. That was the first and only comic that made want to research Eastern religion and mythos just to know what the hell was going on. The twin warrior "monkettes" with their spell breaking swords were sweet. As far as his other works, I’m still trying to finish Landlock. The local video store has only had the second part available for the past few years, without bothering to stock the first installment. The character designs are definitely Shirow, but the story seemed dull. I'll have to see the whole thing to make something of it. I'm also curious about Gundress; it looks like more girls and guns schlock but it can't be all bad. (Right?) BTW, has anybody played through Sampaguita on the PSX?
  5. Thanks to Studio Proteus, Shirow's works made up my first exposure to manga with Appleseed being my favorite. However, I don't like how Deunan looks in the Hypernotes story. She seems to have lost some of her grit in favor of a more demure, softer look. And I really wish he'd get on with book 5 instead of putting out those CG T&A mini-comics/posters. (I say this now, but I know I'll be in line for the Eros Depot book if it comes out ). Nubile, perky femmes aside, Shirow still shines with his mecha designs and layouts. I've read that he's got some spiders as pets, and their influence really shows in the Fuchikomas and battle platforms. And how could I forget about the landmates. The Guges is one awesome piece of mecha.
  6. That little bugger was a custom job I made almost a year ago . There's a lot more about it here: http://www.macrossworld.com/cgi-bin/mwf/ik...ke+joke+machine
  7. IMO, the best games from Square came in the forms of Front Mission 3, Einhander, and Xenogears. Like it says in the intro, FM3 is an absoute "wargasm" .
  8. That's a damn good question, Batou. Well, there's a local mom and pop's hobby shop that has some of my stuff on display. I'm hoping they have enough space in their case for this thing. If not, it gonna make one heck of a paperweight. Not as much as I'd want it to be.
  9. I'm glad you guys like it , I really tried to give it at least a similar look to its movie counterpart. It looks like the film used at least three models which were slightly different from each other, so getting a true movie-accurate Firefox model would be a matter of taste. Studio 2's interpretation of the Firefox is fairly close to the full scale mock-up (used in the hangar scenes) except for a couple of details. The mock-up has a well defined "spine" between the tail wings due to the upper intakes being a little bigger than the kit's. Second, the mock-up's upper intakes merge with the fuselage more abruptly than the kit does, giving the kit some elegant lines. Lastly, Studio 2 added some curves along the upper and lower parts of the cockpit area, as opposed to the mock-up's straight lines. There are some other small details which differ, but I do like what Studio 2 did with the Firefox. 91WhiskeyM6, there are only a couple of places I know of online that carries this kit: http://www.monstersinmotion.com/ships/indexf.html and http://www.comet-miniatures.com/search.php...a&s_for=firefox Comet Miniatures is in the U.K. though. Both these shops also carry the 1/72 version. This kit resembles the model used during some of the flight scenes. Firefox tidbits: The story of Gant's theft of the Firefox is continued in the novel Firefox Down, also by Craig Thomas. Wanna see the Firefox in videogames? A loong time ago the movie had its own laserdisc game but it was nothing more than movie clips mixed in with a shooter on rails. Track down the old Neo-Geo shooter Aero Fighters, and during the Russia stage a formidable boss will greet you. The most notable cameo of the Firefox in a game is in the SNES title, U.N. Squadron. Renamed the F-20 Efreet , the Firefox is the most expensive plane you can buy.
  10. Note the slight downward curve along the cockpit. This is some free license by the sculptors of Studio 2, but I think it adds some sleekness to the original movie models.
  11. Neee-ha! It’s finally done, I really should’ve been finished much earlier, but I needed to do a lot of testing to get the desired effects. Now on to the pics:
  12. It's been ages since I've read the first three books, and it's been two years since I read Wizard and Glass. I've forgotten a lot of details, but I do remember the books as being great reads. With the fifth installment finally coming, I think I'm gonna have to do some heavy skimming to get up to date with the story. However, I do remember the first line that started it all: "The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed".
  13. Thats insane, I'd definitely give it a whirl! How would you do a wheelie on that thing?
  14. I know, I was just being a wise-ass. As much as I like Zero, it was really annoying how he's always made into a sacrificial lamb. I could understand him going all kamikaze after Iris bites it, but blowing himself up three times in the past is too much. And yeah, he may not be as powerful in X4 as he was in the past games, but using his sword skills was a lot more fun than X's add-ons.
  15. “Sensible” continuity in a Capcom game? Oh well, just because a game is deemed crappy it doesn’t mean the story elements it has to offer should be discredited. Zero is Protoman MkII? I thought that was Dynamo.
  16. After his fight with Sigma, Zero got a makeover from Dr. Cain which blocked memories of his true purpose. He then becomes an ally in hunting Mavericks, but he still gets an occasional headache once in a while. How did the world change so much? What happened to Roll, Rush, Protoman and the rest of the crew? Who knows, Capcom was never clear on those things. Maybe the manga tells more than the games do.
  17. The X series is actually part of the Megaman continuity. Remember Zero's flashback's in X4? And in the end of one of the arcade Megaman games (Power Battles I think), Dr. Wily mentions a new android he's working on who would be more powerful than Megaman. Bass then says something like "You mean that red robot that looks like a girl?" The direct link between Megaman and X is still in the air though.
  18. None other than R.J. Mitchell, the designer of the Spitfire itself, commenting on the name given to his plane by the Supermarine admin. (I can't believe I know that ) Thanks for the clip, G, it was a good laugh .
  19. Other obsessions? Mecha, anime, videogames, and any combination of the three (as well as any kind of merchandise involved with such combinations ). The martial arts have always been a hobby as well, I'm currently into my sixth year in Aikido, but I'd like to compliment it with Jiujitsu in the future.
  20. From your title I thought you had done the tedoius task of painting all those teeny beer can missles from the fast packs. But yeah, I painted red tips on a set of those wing mounted missles for my 1/60 CF, just to match the TV counterparts.
