  1. The parts that need to be looked at are the wheel assembly and the underside of the pilot seat. The areas highlighted in red are the surfaces that could be sanded to reduce the gap in the nose when the wheels are down. It’s just a matter of sanding the right amount to attain the smallest gap possible (or none at all) and get enough grip for the wheels to stay in place when lowered. The cockpit area can be assembled separately to see if the sanded amount is just right. If it’s not enough, just take it apart and repeat. One of my 1/48s actually had the opposite problem: the front wheels were too loose when lowered. It could support the valk just fine, but rolling it forward would make it take a nose dive. Anyways, I hope this helps.
  2. Once the screws are removed, the parts shown below will easily come apart. Be careful of the pegs inside the hatch assembly (the hinged pegs used to cover up the holes for the leg posts), they may fall out.
  3. It’s not too hard to take apart the cockpit area, but here it goes: First, remove the nosecone and raise the wheels. Lift open the nose hatch where the leg posts go. Remove the three screws highlighted by the red squares. Be sure to use a large screwdriver so the screws won’t be stripped.
  4. Niice, makes me even more excited about Rohby's recasts.
  5. it's a paper MetalGear Rex from MSG on ps1. got it as part of the E3 pack for the new 'snake eater' game. Here are some pics. Valkyrie Hunter D: thanks very much for the line up. i've handled the other evas aswell, while they are cool, they can't touch the poseability of the one i have.. the question remains, what is the likely hood of the rest of the evas being made in the sculpt i of the 02 i have. the reason i ask is because if they arn't releasing the others i'm going to go get the 05 while its available. if they are releasing the others, i'm going to wait for those instead. i cant' read the websites that are listed on the box so i dont' know what to do right now. thanks again for all the info. Not a prob KingNor, I got nothing else better to do while I watch over my nephew <_< .
  6. Here's the Kaiyodo eva lines so far: TV Series: Eva-00 thru Eva-04 (these had metallic and clear colored variants) 3rd Angel Sachiel (sculpted by Art Asylum) Eva-01 Matsumara Version (looks like its going berserk and breaking out of bindings) Eva-00 thru Eva-04 re-releases (same figures but different packaging) Rei and Asuka End of Evangelion: Eva-02 (different sculpt), Eva-05, Eva-05 with damaged Eva-02 The TV series evas are quite posable as well, so maybe you could team up your Eva-02 with those figures. LMK if I've missed anything, but I don't know whether Kaiyodo will continue the End of Evangelion line.
  7. What you got is Kaiyodo/Xebec's second eva-02 figure. Kaiyodo previously released eva-00 thru eva-04 for the first wave, and were re-released in some fancy "tube" packaging. Aside from your eva-02, Kaiyodo also put out another figure from the movie, the eva-05. I don't know if Kaiyodo will release anymore figures from the movie though. The previous releases are easy enough to find, but they can be quite fragile. I think only Sega and Kaiyodo/Xebec put out full blown figures of evas, but you can definitely tell them apart (Sega's evas are standing up straight and aren't as dynamic looking). If ever you want to go all out, you could always plunk down the cash for the Bandai chogokins.
  8. Box, schmox. I'd buy these things even if they're sold in ziploc baggies.
  9. If I have to be in the front lines, I might as well be in the biggest tank of 'em all. One more vote for the Monster.
  10. Thanks for the avatar link! I had a hard time choosing one since a lot of them were quite cool.
  11. I think it was confirmed that Roy's valk doesn't have a yellow circle on his backpack.
  12. Is there any definitive word if that god awful metallic paint is going to stay?
  13. I attempted to collect every model available for specific lines (Patlabor, Macross,Virtual On), but the build up got out of hand real fast and I actually felt pressure to build all of those kits. That's when I knew I had to liquidate. I slowly sold them off or gave them as gifts, and now I try to be real selective about what gets left on the workbench. I trimmed down a total of almost a hundred kits to less than ten. At least I have the reassurance that I'll always have something to do .
  14. 1/72 = 2 pcs. 1/60 = 7 pcs. 1/48 = 5 pcs.
  15. That character looks real familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
  16. I didn’t put in my info on the old thread either, but for what its worth: Name: Mike Height: 5'11". Weight: 195lbs. Age: 27 Occupation: State worker Location: CA, USA Body: Bruised, very sore Relationship status: Single Picture: Old ink self portrait. I was instructed to center on one emotion, in this case anger, but I don’t look that mean (most of the time, anyways ).
  17. D'oh! Thanks anyways, G!
  18. Requests? For the 1/48s, how about a better mechanism to allow the front landing gear to deploy without making a nasty gap in the nose? I took apart the cockpit area to find out how the landing gear stays locked, and it seems kinda primitive compared the 1/48 as a whole. Ooh, how about requesting some cold cast resin statues of our beloved Macross characters? I'd be first in line for 1/6 or 1/8 scale statue of a DYRL Minmay.
  19. Ahhh, like breaking in a new pair of shoes. Muchos gracias to the staff! I'm sure it won't be long until everyone finds their way back.
  20. Wow, everything's so brand spanking new! Thanks for a new pad to crash, S&G! Q's for Yamato: 1. Are the 1/60 scale fast pack upgrade kits still planned? 2. Any possibilty of GPB armor for the 1/48 VF-1J? 3. Any VF-2SS plans? 4. Have they ever considered getting into the Super Deformed genre?
