You'd have to look a ways back in this thread to find it. Its in the ep with the factory satellite I believe. After they try the baby trick both sides fight it out. In there is some inconsistent animation where the packs are as Bandai has elected to make this release (mainly the color of the valkyries with white bits). But honestly it was the early 80s and the animation coloring is fairly inconsistent.

Combined my late preorder with the Megahouse Orguss re-release on amiami, so I'll be waiting a few weeks.

Don't understand why someone like ET doesn't start with the old 1/35 Gakken, fix some proportions, simplify the shoulders (they had a tendency to break) and update the design. Too many people trying to reinvent the wheel that was already pretty good and end up with floppy messes. The Gakkens were SOLID in all 3 modes, did a fair job with proportions and built like a tank. The feet on the ET stick out way in fighter mode, just like the CMs, they need to collapse in MUCH more.

Guessing that's a resin kit?

Decent priced Max on Ebay: $105 USD shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/HI-METAL-R-VF-1J-Super-Valkyrie-Maximilian-Jenius-Custom-Bandai-Japan-NEW-S-/272445767376?hash=item3f6f087ed0:g:TboAAOSwo4pYJv36

Was very surprised at that preorder price, esp considering the fact its about 3K less than the Milia (where they have less competition). Im sure the shipping will be higher like y mention though.
-
Its hard not to, they're basically action figures with great articulation and nearly-perfect transformation at a base price of 6000 Yen/$60 USD. But its not a line to wait on. I fiddle with my HMR far more than any 1/60 toys.
-
Secured a Max on amiami, sweet! I've had my HM VF-1J's for going on a year and they're around 5 years old right? Still very sturdy. And the HMR are better than the original HM. Due to the scale you need to be gentle with the joints, but they're pretty durable in my book.

1/100 is much better for large mechs, overall cost savings. Basic valkyries for $60 USD is pretty fricking great.
-
Agreed, I love the 2 main SDC mechs, as well as the 3 primary enemy mechs. Would even buy that weird/ugly gerwalk plane thing. Also, good versions of the Inbit would be amazing.

I'd be cool with Megahouse picking up Mospeada like they did with Orguss. Super-high-end (and high-priced), but well executed. Grrr. Your insomnia paid off though. :-P

That's the worry. I'll need to get a 3rd regult if this is the case and want to miss any crush to acquire them if so. I'd rather they sell them with regults and possibly as separate sets at the same time. Seems like Bandai is latching onto the idea of add-on packs. If they do this with fast packs I'll need to pick up 2 more VF-1As.
-
Maybe Bandai will re-release a smaller number of regults if/when they release separate missile packs.

Have we gotten confirmation that the regult light/heavy missles will be add-ons? Ie, do I need to buy a 3rd regult?

WANT! Want SAP! Want green, blue and yellow stickers also!

Got my 1J Hikaru. The blue canopy, while TV anime accurate (watched the Bye Bye Mars Robotech ep to verify), is off-putting and weird. They should have included it as a bonus part with the regular canopy also. They also should have included a bonus hand holding a Misa figure.

I agree the stand looks great. The bottom arm does need to be clear however. Unless the top part has clips that wrap around the underside of the fast packs (which could cause stress marks/breakage over time) or it uses screws that go into the packs (or use some sort of pressure connection) like in the anime, the bottom stand is required. Or if you pose it with the valkyrie upside down possibly. Sideways would be ideal to me.

For me the HMR Macross future question is because the Max was debuted early summer I think and preorder was mid-summer and the Milia (which is a natural extension of the Max) is the only "new" item they have shown since around June (the stands were announced in June). So nothing new really new announced in about 4 months...and then Dougram.
-
Why is it that Max sold out but not Milia? And yet the Milia is only available as a Tamashii exclusive only available to us through MyKombini? Max just that much more popular?

The barrels are too wide and they don't look long enough.

So they pushed off the Orguss re-release until November... Playing with my Olsen special...this toy is full of tabs...its just that they don't always line up all that well nor do they necessarily lock. I take off the head antennae every time I transform it out of orgroid mode, I'm afraid they will bend/crease inside the back section while fiddling with transformations (it takes some work with the head/body).

I hope they stick to mecha and not go venturing into super-robot category. There's already SOC for that. And Robot Spirits for Gundam and Eva.
