  1. To paraphrase what someone on another forum said... Unfortunately it will be sometime next year to see it play out with Unicorn v. Banshee in animated goodness. Or maybe a another year...thanks a lot Episode 7.
  2. To any Canon DSLR shooter Official Discontinued List Since they announced the Speedlite 600EX-RT, the death of the 580EX II was kinda expected. If you can find a markdown 580EX II, I would consider grabbing it.
  3. Besides the scene from the previews (i.e., your avatar), no.
  4. Streaming starts today (May 19th).
  5. Feels a bit too much off the top. Or crop the sides.
  6. I'd probably go with the 24-105mm as well. You're probably gonna get about the same focal range from both so it will probably come down to other factors, as mentioned, like build quality or accessories. I have the previous generation EF 28-135mm and yes, it's not the best lens. It's decent but eventually, you'll want something better.
  7. You referring to the Tamron lens right? Or are you referring to original EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM? Cuz the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM isn't out till July(?). That's one of the selling points to me with either the Tamron or upcoming Canon 24-70mm lens. Shooting a lot indoors and at night no less has me wishing for a f/2.8 lens. My other option is the EF-S 17-55mm IS USM but I've heard of problems with cleaning.
  8. I'll just leave this here: Has Spidey's Origin Been Drastically Altered In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN?
  9. Most (read nearly all) DSLRs have 30-sec cap on the shutter speed. You can adjust for that by opening the aperture as far as you can go or bumping the ISO up really high. Now for my question... Any shooters have any thoughts on the Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD (Model A007)? The Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM is (as far as I've seen) priced out of my price range for what I want to spend.
  10. Mod warning: Get back on topic or I lock.
  11. Not really. Their fate has been kinda left untouched. And for the most part, Peter was fine without them. The defining point in Peter's life was the death of Uncle Ben so I'm not sure why they are playing up the parent issues for this movie. I never read the Ultimate-version of the character so I don't know if it was played up there.
  12. Unfortunately, it looks like Episode 6 has been pushed to Spring 2013 (i.e., probably means a extra month or 2) compared to every 8 months which would have put it at the edge of Feb/March 2013.
  13. An iPhone 4S perhaps? A Nikon S3300 or a S2600...Maybe even a S100? A Canon A2300? ELPH 110 HS? A Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH-6? DMC-S2? BTW, if this gonna be "Everything Photography" at least geek it up and list the camera model you use to take the pic. And if you're using a DSLR, you should be listing at least the model and lens you used to take the pic.
  14. You can try a test with Memtest but I think I don't think it's the RAM. It could be that your CPU or even GPU is a lemon. So reapplying the thermal paste probably won't work since it could be a manufacturing issue (it's rare but it does happen).
  15. Just because someone else posts the same entry zip code doesn't mean you can't enter to win tickets yourself. Any user (following the rules above) can enter. So if you want to enter the drawing, go ahead. You may beat out the other person in the same zip code area. We're drawing entries based on the user, not the zip code (the zip code is just how we are, geographically, limiting the contest).
  16. Considering the $700 million this film has taken in in 2 weeks (domestic and international ticket sales), you can bet the other companies will probably try to keep their hand in the cookie jar for as long as they can. Even though Disney/Marvel bought out Paramount's distribution rights, Paramount still has TV rights and production credits (i.e. "... in association with Paramount Pictures").
  17. Well...about that...Ms. Johansson wasn't wearing much under that snug costume, compared to the guys at least. So yes, you could say it was "painted on".
  18. And the numbers are in (courtesy of Box Office Mojo.com) $207,438,708 (as of May 6th, North America only)
  19. Besides Joss Wheden's comments that the design was "ass"? It won't be hard. Just look at the Justice League animated series or the Grant Morrison run on JLA portrayal of Batman. But overall, they need a good story, actors, and production team. And the weekend estimate from Box Office Mojo is looking at $200.3 million. That's a very healthy start.
  20. Considering it was suppose to power the movie-version of the Mark I suit for about 15-minutes or the Mark III for what...about the same? Yeah, it was near-limitless. It's suppose to generate a lot of power for a long time (in ideal conditions), for such a small thing. But back to the thread... Marvel will be quite pleased with the $80.5 million the film generated domestically, on Friday (see Box Office Mojo). A few news sources are already predicting ~$150 million from weekend domestic sales alone.
  21. Ah, but... (as sketchley notes) ...Would not providing resources for humanitarian aid or what not be just as bad as pointing a gun in your face? You would let innocents suffer, potentially die, because the leadership of nation decided not to join the club? That would make the UN the bastards as well. The UN may not have pointed a gun, but they would let innocents die. Perhaps a question to ask is, assume we haven't seen the endgame yet and we're back to the zero-sum game (M0 hasn't happened yet, we don't know the Zentradi are coming or that they will be nukin' the site from orbit, etc.). Would that affect which side you choose?
