They may not be listed, but it probably have lost a set a weapons. The VF-171 is a slightly, less complicated, less expensive, VF-17. Even without arm lasers, a VF-171 still has plenty of guns and missiles. On top of that, it got hardpoints for more accessories compared to the VF-17. So we traded guns that were rarely used and got real mounts for any accessory (missiles, gun pods, heavier armaments, etc.) On top of that, the VF-171 got rid of the stealth skin for a real active stealth system and easier-to-use engines. So you didn't need to be part of the Special Forces to fly a VF-17. This is a case where there's more to the fighter than just weapons.

PS4: Sony's Shuhei Yoshida on why there was no box at the launch event Nothing new but it may clarify some things. And yes, there will be digital distribution of games just like the Vita.

Well, they have to start somewhere. I'm sure they left it open to sequels but they need something to give to the studio to start with. And there's the key word: generic. If it wasn't modernized in some way to look like a F-22 or JSF or some modern fighter jet, I'd be shocked. No. Unified Government is. But UEG is covered in RT. http://www.robotech.com/infopedia/encyclopedia/viewterms.php?alpha=U See, Robotech Masters covered this in some form or another. Don't need to pull anything else from Macross (aka Japan). As I mentioned, RT already uses it's other shows (besides Macross) to flesh out the back story. I wouldn't be shocked if they worm their way into a 1st movie. It's not like RT has nothing to draw upon using just Macross. Heck, they did it in RT when they threw in some Southern Cross footage into the Macross-portion of the show.

Again, there are no legal issues with Macross. RT already has its own screwed-up universe to draw from. There's more to RT than the Macross Saga to draw from. The Robotech Masters and New Generation already fill the back story and carry on from the Macross Saga and add to their universe. There's no need to grab anything from Macross besides what is already there in RT.

As the saying goes, what happens on in PM, stays in PM. Now should this thread lower itself into flame bait, then we can always lock it and we can ban some parties. Got it? Good.

I'm just gonna say, it was a movie that dramatized real-life events. I'm sure creative liberties were taken. Otherwise, no one would go to the theater to watch suspense and drama. Congrats to Argo.

Sony has said there is an offline mode and that PS4 games will come on disc. PS2/PS3 games, which will be incompatible with the PS4 (due to the change in hardware architecture), will be streamed. Native support for older console titles will not exist on the PS4. Down the road for PS4 games? They may join their PS2/PS3 brethren and enter the cloud. Playstation Eye will be available...though, it will be a newer version. And the Move controllers will also be compatible. Will there be any motion-controlled gaming at release time? I don't recall Sony announcing anything.

The RGs have had some really good detailing so far. I'm not terribly shocked about RG RX-78-GP01 since the 0083 series has been one of the more popular ones. I'm looking at this guy though: MG Aile Strike Gundam (HD ver)

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!

As I understand it, the PS4 uses an AMD APU chip (and a Jaguar-based x86 CPU/GPU nonetheless). Can't get much more closer to a PC than that. But yes, if Sony still wants to price games as they do now, I don't expect there to be much adoption, regardless of games.- 6883 replies

Definite what you mean by "end of Macross II". You mean the ending theme? "Yakusoku" Or the big battle at the end of the series? "Mou Ichido Love You"

Maybe it's just me, but social media and streaming/cloud-supported games seems...consuming. The game itself can be large (game files or graphics). Then comes the DLCs. I'm looking at my installation of Battlefield 3 and it's near 28 GB up to the current DLC. If I was just starting (like if I got the game as a Christmas present), that's a lot of stuff to download. It sounds like the A-list games will still come on physical media but if PS3 or PS2 games are streaming only, that's a lot of streaming. It sounds like they'll eventually go all cloud-based at some point. I know streaming and that path is the direction of a lot of things, but gamers that play a game straight then play again, or even streaming their games or streaming their multiplayer games... It seems like were gonna need more bandwidth.- 6883 replies

It's a compilation (i.e., Special Edition). I'm not expecting anything great to come considering it is a recompiled release.

Normally? 10 years seems to be the rolling industry standard (Judging by movies like Fox's Daredevil (2003), Sony's Spiderman-franchise (2002-2007) and Amazing Spiderman (2012), Fox's X-Men-series (2000-2009, 2010-?). Most seem to have it for about 10 years, then the rights revert back to the originating party, if nothing is done. As in, you have 10 years to do something or else it reverts back to the originating owners. You can extend it after 10 years by making new products (i.e., make more movies). But that appears to be on the major-studios level. IIRC, Maguire Entertainment (Tobey Maguire's company) were the ones to acquired the license with WB on-board as the distribution studio. My feeling is if Maguire Ent. can't do something by 2017, WB will probably drop out, unless they want an extension. After which, Maguire Ent. can go to Disney, Sony, Fox, Paramount, etc. But again, that's just what I see and hear.
