  1. I like that the "Crossfield" was a kit-bash. It does fit with the story. The TMP-era Bird-of-Prey...interesting choice.
  2. This one of those thing I find annoying amongst Star Wars fandom. As Freud said, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. For weeks, the speculation-mill has run rampant with thousands of theories. Hey dumbasses, how about the obvious answer? ๐Ÿ™„ There was no twist. Sit down. Shut up and watch the damn show. And put down the phone. Stop checking Twitter/X/whatever it wants to call itself this week, Reddit, Facebook, YouTube talking heads, etc, and just watch the damn show. ๐Ÿ™„
  3. Go to Youtube. Search for "Star Wars directed by<insert director's name>". There are a bunch of AI generated videos to click on. Silly as it is, Genevieve O'Reilly is around the same age now (46) as when Caroline Blakiston portrayed Mon Mothma back in 1983 (Ms. Blakiston was ~48). So having Ms. O'Reilly portray Mon Mothma, now, kinda works. It's easy to add more age to Ms. O'Reilly. Taking it away from Mark Hamill is not as easy. Good luck de-aging Caroline Blakiston today. I actually liked certain elements of the EU. Especially the part where there was no "The First Order". I was perfectly happy with the Empire Remanent. Then Disney and JJ gave us the JJ Abrams presents the Galactic Empire-lite.
  4. As of posting, the actors are still on strike and without the loudest members of the production out there promoting their shows and movies, advertising has been curtailed.
  5. Considering they spent it on a ship going from point A (episode 2) to point B (episode 4). Guess this was the "Let's save money by filming on a set instead of the giant location wall"-episode. It was an OK episode.
  6. Or call in an established singer (likewise, no need to audition). ex. JUNNA, May'n, Yoshiki Fukuyama, Chie Kajiura
  7. Good olde Ikea Signum and plenty of velcro. That too. *compares office desk vs WFH desk* ๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿซข
  8. Over-the-ear definitely offers the best immersive experience for gaming. Unfortunately, the past couple of years allergies have not been kind to my facial skin so Iโ€™ve had to switch to earbuds to avoid suffocating and aggravating my skin. I used to have a 5.1 sound system but found it space-consuming and excessive for PC gaming. A good pair or 2.1 set provides equal or better immersion for gaming. Especially when gaming at night or when you want to reduce noise, you gravitate to a headset/earbuds anyways. Edit: When I say good "pair", I mean ranging from something like the popular Kanto YU2 to the Logitech Z207 (yes a pair of $60 Logitech speakers can actually produce some decent sound).
  9. Surprisingly, most games don't need THAT much horsepower and most systems made in the past 5-6 years are more than capable of doing what most games want to varying degrees.
  10. Minimum specs: Recommended specs: Overall, not that bad. Basically any computer built in the past 5-6 years should run it with graphics being the pain point. If you can find a deal on any Nvidia RTX 3000-series or AMD RX 6000-series cards, those would last you. AMD graphics might be a better choice only because they give you more VRAM for the money. If you want DLSS or RT features, then you would go with Nvidia. Monitor? Depends. Audio setup? You mean headphones aren't enough? Most people game on headphones anyways.
  11. Unfortunately, we don't have one. Watch this space.
  12. Ya know...Anytime someone mentions War in the Pocket, 8th MS Team, or Stardust Memory in a thread about the next Macross series, I'm just going to post this: Cuz those are the exact same 3 shows that get mentioned. Every. Damn. Time.
  13. Yeah slow episodes. But at the same time, if you watched Rebels, it's not really slow, cuz... It's pretty much Rebels season 5. If you didn't watch the last few episodes of Rebels season 4, now would be a good time catch up till next week's episode since the story is essentially starting from that point. Sabine needs her jetpack back...
  14. The buzz Iโ€™m seeing also says getting caught up by watching Rebels will definitely help understand the backstory of whatโ€™s going on. So take that as you will.
  15. FYI He went to the National Museum of the US Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He's just talking about the X-24 in the 1st tweet (or whatever it's called now). 2nd tweet is, obviously, about the X-29. If anyone was looking for Macross news-type stuff from the tweets, there's nothing. Just Kawamori being a tourist. ๐Ÿ˜
  16. ๐Ÿคจ ๐Ÿ™„ This thread is about Disney+ streaming services. How about talking about Disney raising subscription prices by almost 30%. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/08/09/disney-to-raise-disney-price-for-ad-free-plan-in-september.html If you canโ€™t find a similar thread, go make a new one.
  17. Gotta save money somewhere... VFX is expensive with CGI Gorn. ๐Ÿ˜
  18. Why not set it whenever they are in the timeline. The present, whenever that may be. And who says they need to be broke? 'Have some imagination. Max Jenius in Macross Delta. The man is in his 70s, flying a YF-29 like he was in his 20s, kicking an entire group of kids flying the new hotness. Granted, a man of his age shouldn't be flying. And he should not be piloting a YF-29 and definitely not like someone 1/3 his age. I'm surprise he didn't go into full cardiac arrest pulling some moves like that as opposed to just clutching his chest.
  19. Speaking of the VF-3000, I would like to see a series where the heroes are forced to use older VFs. For. The. Whole. Series. Not a Vanquish-racing situation where pilots intentionally take old VFs and soup 'em up with impossible performance numbers. Not as training vehicles. But use as their primary military vehicles. Like pre-VF-171. To tie to the real world, the US sells F-16 to other countries. The current stock of F-15s are being upgraded to F-15EXs cuz there aren't enough F-22s and F-35s to go around (and other reasons but nevermind that). F/A-18s are still out and about since the F-35 rollout is over-budget and delayed. The F-16 is a 50-year old design and is still seeing combat. The F-15 is 36-pushing-37 years old. The F/A-18E is 28 years old (with the original being 44 years old). All of them are still seeing use in combat. Why can't we have that in a Macross-series? It would be a good way to reuse some old toy molds with only minor tweaks and a new paint job on the merchandise-side. Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island showed us the classics still look good with a bit of detail and some modern touches. Let's see some VF-4s, VF-5000s, VF-14s, VF-11s, proper VF-19s & VF-22s. No VF-1s. 'Seen that twice already. No need to retread on that.
  20. Fine. Let me settle this for both of you. You're both right and both wrong. Why? When the story says the pilot of the said machine runs out of missiles, they're gonna run outta' missiles. 'Ain't no spec sheet, drawing, or words from a book in the world 'gonna save said pilot. Period. Now drop it or both of you get a vacation.
  21. Just remember children, you are arguing about fake specs, for machines that don't exist, from a work of fiction. Calm down.
  22. Not necessarily. Writing can take place during production. 'Happens all the time. Example, during production, actors mess-up their lines (hence the famous outakes & blooper reels), so the actor goes up to the director and discusses the dialog. The director says let's shoot it again as is. The director sees and hears it being said during the take and agrees; the dialog, as written, doesn't work. The writer is also on set, sees and hears their script, now being produced in film. Agrees with the director and actor; the dialog doesn't work. So the writer rips out the page and starts rewriting the dialog to better convey the dialog of the scene. Another example. After multiple tries, this one scene doesn't come out right. They'll shoot it later when everyone is happy. Problem is, production has already started. But thanks to the miracle of editing, they can stitch it up in post-production. When the writer and director is happy with the scene on the page, they finally shoot it. Unfortunately, it's been 2..3 weeks since they filmed that whole act of the production. But, thanks to the miracle of editing, they can insert that scene into the act, after the writer worked things out. This is why production slowly starts coming to a halt when the writers went on strike. They can film up to a certain point, but since writing still happens during production, they can only film what's on the page (hence the old adage, "If it ainโ€™t on the page, it ainโ€™t on the stage"). After that point, they will have filmed everything on the page and if a portion of the production requires re-writing or to have something new written in, they need writers, who are on strike.
  23. Just because someone is gonna write a treatment doesn't mean it's gonna be accepted by the studio nor does it mean it will be good. I prefer to just wait and see.
  24. I think the number of years you've had the 2019 revision have probably made up in ROI to invest in the OLED revision. ๐Ÿ˜ For me, mine has lived mostly in the dock so I haven't felt the need to get the OLED.
