  1. Is the piikii line in kanji or in kana?
  2. Actually, I like this Friday night time slot. I'll be able to watch the first episode on TV and not have to worry if I'm going to be out and about. This coming Japan trip is going to be very, very awesome!
  3. During the summer, I actually saw a Sileighty near where I live. I was pretty surprised!
  4. Actually, deadghost, we don't even have the non-turboed "SR" engine in the 240SX. The American version of the Silvia, err 240SX has the KA25DE. In the US only the 200SX, Infiniti G20, and the Sentra had the non-turbo SR20DE in them, and that was as a FWD format. Sadly, I'm about to give up on getting myself an S-14, as most of the ones around me are priced out of my price range. I made the mistake of passing one up about two years ago merely because it was an automatic. To add insult to injury, I actually wound up meeting the guy who bought that very car about a year after I passed it up. He actually wound up converting it to manual and was in the process of saving up the money to do the engine swap.
  5. I have no complaints about the E6600. I've been running that CPU for about 6 months and am completely happy with it.
  6. Hey, ackem Shintougougun loosely translates into New Unified Government Army/Military.
  7. With Bandai getting the licensing rights to Macross F, we just may see some SoC Macross toys. At least for Frontier.
  8. Amen, brother! It will still probably be until next year that I buy a Blu-Ray player or PS3.
  9. I learned about Macross the day the second episode of Robotech was aired on TV back in 1985. A year later while I was at a science-fiction convention in New York City, I discovered DYRL and became hooked on anime in its original format and never looked back.
  10. I'll be hitting up this year's Tokyo International Anime Fair at the end of March. I'm hoping we'll see quite a bit of Macross Frontier stuff there.
  11. 70 degrees is still quite far from what is accepted as the card's maximum safe operating temperature.
  12. Michel is just the French version of the name Micheal. I keep hearing both Mikhail and Michel being used in the first episode. I'm just wondering if he has some undercover name when working with SMS.
  13. Haha. It happens to everyone. I was going to comment on Toshiba TVs, myself,as I currently own a 3-year old 32" Toshiba TV. Next year I'm finally going to upgrade to a HDTV.
  14. I think I've watched episode 1 of Macross Frontier at least 10 times. I don't even know how many times I've seen DYRL!
  15. Actually, Zinjo, even you have the facts about the UN Wars incorrect. These wars didn't start until July of 2000, after the crash of ASS-1 and the drafting of the plan to create the new United Nations Government. To quote the Macross Compedium: "2000 March Establishment of OTEC, an alien technology analysis research institute, through joint Japanese-American-Russian[soviet]-[West] German-English-French collaboration. April Research on anti-giant combat weaponry systems ([later designated as] Battroid and Destroid) begins. June The existence of aliens officially announced (except for their size and other details which are kept top secret). Following this, framing plan for Earth U.N. Government officially announced. July Outbreak of dispute in People's Republic of Garalia in the Middle East. The frequent disputes and internal conflicts occurring hereafter in all areas of the world become collectively known as the U.N. Wars."
  16. I was a bit shocked and very disappointed when I learned of Roy Schieder's passing. He'll be missed!
  17. With all this mileage posting, I'll have to post a picture of my 231,8** mile odometer.
  18. Aww, it's still a baby.
  19. Speaking of X-Japan, I have a friend trying to get me tickets to their reunion concert on March 30.
  20. 7:30PM on Saturday? Cool, I'll be in Tokyo on that day and will be able to see it on broadcast TV. Too bad I won't there when the second episode airs.
  21. In the case of Superman sounding like Star Wars, both movies' soundtracks were composed by John Williams. Who's going to sue a person for copying themself? Not that anyone would sue the composer of Gunbuster's score for sounding like Vangelis.
  22. Great, another Yamato toy to add to my collection! I've always loved the Proto-Garland. Now if only Yamato would make the military version of the Garland and the Wilde Sau from Part II, I'd be really happy!
  23. That Strega's pretty awesome, especially considering the fact that it's made out of wood.
