    I never got the impression that Char was trying to save Earth from polluting humans. I always thought that his goal was to punish the "old types" for their exploitation of newtypes and other injustices.

    The worst ending in Macross is Macross II.

    Call me strange, yellowlightman, but I actually just use my computer speakers for my 360. They work just fine.

    I'll laugh if someday, in the future, they make a new Macross series or OVA that takes place in the same year that Macross II would have taken place.

    Don't feel too bad, s-girl. There's still quite a few of us "old school" fans that enjoy the new Macross and the very first series. Frontier has definitely become my favorite of the Macross sequels. Only the original TV series and DYRL beat it.

    I finally got caught up with this series. Without a doubt, I can safely say that I really, really don't like Furuichi. What an ass!

    I was actually quite disappointed when Astonage died. He survived Zeta and Double Zeta only to be killed by a stray short.

    Where are you getting the 8 children thing from? Max and Milia only have 7. It's only 8 if you count the girl from M3 that they adopted.

    Even without subtitles I hated Quess. You don't know how satisfied I was to see the Alpha Azieru blow up quite spectacularly! I even laughed!

    I doubt it. I don't think that the UN Government would appoint someone as head of the UN Spacy when he's light-years away from the seat of government.

    Max and Milia may still be around, but they were also about 20 years younger than Vrlitwhai. It's quite possible that Vrlitwhai's position of Commander of the UN Spacy is an elected position with term limits. Vrlitwhai could have easily served until his limit was reached.

    If they reanimated the original series using the DYRL designs and quality, I'd be more than satisfied!

    Overnight success happens in the real world, too. Sure Ranka's fmae came quickly, but I'd hardly say that everything comes too easily for her.

    Ranka's lineage is mentioned in her character bio on the official Macross Frontier website. Kawamori has also mentioned it in a few interviews.

    I'm pleasantly surprised by this thread. I was actually expecting a lot more of the Ranka haters to show up here.

    I don't know if you consider two episodes back-to-back as an hour long episode. If you do, Eureka seveN was an extra-long ending.
