  1. Lessee - Starship Troopers - the only redeeming thing about this movie was seeing Dina Meyer naked. Eve of Destruction - lame, lame movie.......what was Gregory Hines thinking? I know there are others...............
  2. I've watched the trailer a bunch of times, but I look forward to being able to watch this one of these days.
  3. It would be nice if Yamato got the tailfins right this time should they release another version of the 11.
  4. I think it's hilarious!! I love the fact that it looks like an old 2D side scroller. The writing is pretty good too. The spoofs of well known games are good too.
  5. I don't even know what to say to what I just saw................
  6. I too, just saw this today and it is definitely one the cooler movies I have ever seen. Yeah, there were plot holes, not enough of the transformers, blah, blah............for sheer entertainment value alone, WOW! It almost gives me hope that other giant robot genres could almost be well done. I do agree, a VF-1S would be pretty kick ass.
  7. I finally got to see half a dozen of these Revoltech figures this past weekend. They are smaller than I thought, but the detailing is pretty decent. I almost picked up the Dangaioh, but need to wait until I've moved. I was hoping they'd have the Dougram too, but only a Grifon.
  8. And I think that is why the second two Matrix movies were so bad. I agree with WWWMWWW, they should've left the Mach 5 the way it was in the series. I like the wider rounder shape. The one pic that was posted looks more like an 80's Vette that was converted.
  9. Dont'cha mean the Wachowski twins? One of em' was undergoing a sex change last I'd heard. I watched Speed Racer back in the 70's when I was all of 7. It was very, very cool for me at the time. I watched SR back in the late 80's and it only then that I realized how campy and cheesy it truly is.
  10. I met a guy in Florida who scratchbuilt a large scale replica of the USS Forrestal that was also featured in Fine Scale Modeler. It was just phenomenal seeing it in person. He keeps it in his garage oddly enough, since I think I remember him saying that no one seemed to want it for a museum. The Enterprise is very cool. That site that it's featured on seems to have other scratchbuilt carriers.
  11. I like the pic of the dude laying under the box! Hee!
  12. The box art shows the hand held cannon to be shorter than the motoslave. Most line art I've seen shows the cannon being taller than the motoslave. Motoslave
  13. Has anybody seen the latest FIX coming out? The GP-03 Stamen? It's coming in with a potential configuration that I haven't seen before. Anyone ever seen this? It's kind of like the Dendrobium, but in a lightweight configuration. Gundam FIX GP-03
  14. First true anime I ever saw was Madox 01 - Metal Skin Panic. I really liked the armored suits and the detail of the animation. Followed that up with Gunbuster, Dangaioh, Bubblegum Crisis, Gall Force, Appleseed and Dominion Tank Police. I know I've seen at least one Dirty Pair OVA, but can't remember which one. Something to do with a mining facility I think..........quite entertaining though. I did own A Wind Named Amnesia once, didn't really dig it much. I have seen Akira, and while it was wonderfully animated, it was one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen. I did pick up the Crusher Joe DVD that Animego had available, couldn't pass up the $5.00 price. Gotta like those clearance items! Crusher Joe is pretty cool and just a bit gritty. My local cable provider has a reasonable anime selection available through On Demand. I finally saw an episode of Iczer 1, something called DNA2 that looked very 80's and one other one that escapes me. I guess I could count watching the Americanized versions of Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman), Starblazers (Space Cruiser Yamato) and Voltron as my introduction to anime back in the 70's. Think I can also remember Tranzor Z (Mazinger Z) being on at some point. Of course, I had no concept of the word "Anime" until the late 1980's.
  15. If you are going to keep your system for a bit longer, there are still AGP cards to be had based on the newer generation of GPU's (graphical processing units). You wouldn't really need to spend anymore than about $200 either. What processor are you using in this PC? You might run into a bottleneck issue with the CPU not being able to keep up with the vid card. I just read an article in the February issue of CPU magazine that had a nice article about this very subject. For ATI, they liked the Sapphire X1650 Pro and for Nvidia, the XFX Geforce 7600GT.
  16. If you're looking for a budget graphics card, look for a 256MB 7600GT instead. But it looks like you're off to a good start. 2GB memory kits seem to be a little pricey ATM, depending on which memory you buy. But the E6400 is a good chip right now, although the E6600 seems to be the sweet spot.
  17. I met Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Mohammad Yunus in London back in December. Got a picture taken by the official photographer too. Course it helps that my fiancee works for him..........but he's just the nicest man you'd ever want to meet.
  18. I once met Vendela Thomasson - Sports Illustrated swim suit model. I had all intentions of treating her like everyone else, shook her hand and promptly forgot how to talk............ Talk about embarrasing!!! Also met Hugh Jackman and his wife. He'e a really decent person and his wife is a sweetie. My GF and I saw Hugh in The Boy From Oz and had an opportunity to have our picture taken with him after the show as part of some AIDS related fund raising. Although in the picture, I look a little possessed.............
  19. I just learned about this series about two weeks ago and was able to catch an episode the other night. It looks like it ought to be fun and the mecha designs look cool too. I look forward to exploring this series some more.
  20. Beautiful! Excellent work thus far. The painting really brings out the detailing.
  21. I'll soon be driving a 2006 Volvo V50 T5. Not very sporty, but practicality is important at the moment.
  22. Cool! It'll be cool to see a finished product. The folks who made those had other Yukikaze models. Not sure if I saw that here or someplace else. There were JAM & FAF fighters as well as the prop driven plane from episode 2.
